I always thought tennis technology was hocus pocus. I used the pure aero, and even more flexi Wilson blade 98 but still had forearm issues. I switched to ProKennex Kinetic 315g and wow! Made such a difference. It reduced the pain so much.

That's your problem right there. If you have arm problems, never ever play with the Wilson Blade 98. I don't have tennis elbow at all, and I got horrible tennis elbow after playing with the blade 98 for 5 minutes, like my entire elbow was in sharp pain. Not just some parts, the ENTIRE elbow. It's also not like I can't handle heavier racquets. I've played with Clash 98, Pure Drive, Pure Drive +, Prince Graphite 107G, Pure Aero, Q +15 Pro, and I was fine with all of them. Also, since the time I played with the Blade 98, that type of elbow pain never came back when I was playing with any other racquet.

I remember the kinetic technology on their rackets already existed around 1986. I remember my friend having one of those. Btw, you should have also cut the other ball to depressurize both of them. The pressure adds to the extra bounce. But yes, having an object moving inside will somewhat counteract the bounce, as it will present opposing forces. That's also why in an airplane you'd always want the pallettes tied down. Same reason F1 cars have fuel bladders cells that deflate instead of rigid tanks, so the liquid doesn't slosh around - also for crash safety reasons. For kinetic, they are doing the opposite and taking advantage of the moving mass and center of mass. Btw, you shouldn't be "shaking" that handle like "that" (@6:03) close to your chest without soft instrumental chikibawbaw background music.

Pro Kennex makes amazing racquets. I started as a junior using Pro Kennex and just found a Ceramic Ace 90 and a Silver Ace Prophecy at a thrift store for $7. Both of these racquets have more feel than most modern racquets and are fantastically arm friendly-without resorting to soft strings. The Ceramic Ace also has an interesting proprietary option to load lead shot around the head (in the grommets) to weight it up. Super informative video about a lesser known brand. I also appreciate that you are highlighting options for those of us with arm issues. Keep up the stellar reviews!

The Ki 15 (300) was made lighter and I got a shock down my arm from hitting the ball, I added 9g of lead tape to the throat. The only con I would say is that you loose some feedback when hitting the ball.

You recommended that I use a Babolat Skin feel and a Tourna to make the grip the same size as the stock grip on the handle. However, because the Babolat Skin Feel is discontinued, what else Do you recommend so that I maintain the 4 3/8 size and the same balance of my racket?

I personally love Pro Kennex and always have. My first raquet ever was the old Pro Kennex Silver Ace 90. was around 1984ish Im guessing. Still have it - fiberglass and ceramic. I most recently play with the 2019 KI Q+5 Pro, and I freakin love it!! Its any absolutely beautiful frame. It actually sits right in the sweet spot for me. Its not a modern tweener - I hate all modern tweeners. But its not pushing into super heavy tour players raquet. 310 unstrung. 320 swingweight. String it up with some Gamma Pro multi - and this middle aged guy can still hit with the best of em. Pro Kennex doesnt get the following here in the States. But still has a huge following overseas. Give one a demo if you are looking at buying. You just may love it!

From my experience lighter racquets cause more shock down your arm unless its a widebody with plenty of the trampolining effect. Lighter racquets may cause you to swing too early overextending your arm causing "boxer's arm" and "tennis elbow". You can try adding lead tape to the racquet as well as the shock dampener.

I bought my first ever ProKennex about this time last year (and I've used just about all brands, including those no longer seen from days gone by). It was the qi tour pro 315 (16x19). What a great racquet. Whilst it's not actually my racquet of choice, it still sits in my bag and gets used from time to time.
Part of the reason it isn't my stick of choice is that I could never get a pair, unless buying from overseas & they would be tough to match. A year later the distributor still hasn't brought in another. With only a handful of stores selling PK across the country, you'd think the distributor would make some effort to get some stock.
Aside from just lousy service I'd have preferred it 18x20 the same as it's heavier 325 brother.
I love the thin beam, never use a dampener in any of my sticks; it's a tad too muted in feel as is, so strings are important. For those without arm issues I'd suggest a crisp full bed of poly.
Otherwise, aside from the string pattern not being my preference in this particular frame, it plays well in stock, doesn't feel unstable against heavy hitters & is surprisingly powerful.
Perhaps I may buy another from you in the near future. I've just got some Angell's arriving very shortly; they just passed customs over the weekend.
Can you confirm whether the qi tour pro (315) is still current stock please? Seems so looking at websites overseas. However, distributor here reckons he's not/can't get more as stock isn't current. Seems a pile of doggy dooo to me.
Another top review Kojak talking about a brand that is barely thought about by most and all in all makes some good frames.
    Cheers. 🎾🎾🎾

Substitute the word "shock" for every time he says "vibration", and this video is mostly correct.
Vibration doesn't really cause arm issues, shock does. The Kinetic racquets absorb shock.

      @pistolpete023 4 роки тому

Agree that there are issues with the scientific correctness of his explanations, especially when he showed the example of the tennis balls. But in addition to shock, there are frame vibrations that contribute to arm discomfort. Stiffer frames exhibit both higher shock and higher frequency vibrations, whereas flexible frames undergo less shock and also lower frequency vibrations; the latter is generally more comfortable.
