I don't care what anyone thinks, I'm sharing this shit - I came to this video looking for Upahar and found it.. In 1992 ish, I I lived on a boat with 4 other people in Dinner Key in Miami Florida. It was about 5 AM on a Saturday, I was with a bunch of friends and we were looking for this tree called "the banyan tree". It was "just a tree" in the middle of a suburb of Miami, but it was huge. I mean it was the biggest tree I had ever seen in Florida. One of the guys wanted to climb to the top and stick his head out of the canopy. After about 3 hours, he made it to the top and lured us all up. Holy wow that was a view. The beach and ocean between two other banyan trees. We were all in our 20's it was fall so it was cooler than normal, and, we were young. Everything was perfect in our worlds. The guy (Steve) said "I know a house that's in a tree like this in the grove". Off we went, walking for miles; 2 hours of walking at least. We finally arrived and it was f#@(%(g AMAZING. It was the opposite of a tree house, it was a housetree. The house was built around the tree! There were rooms in the branches and rope bridges between the different rooms. It was like a dream honestly. There were about 80 people in on or about this house in a tree. EVERYONE was sitting around playing music and smoking the best Kush possible. I met the owners of the house, the gave us a tour and told us the story of the house. Outside were people playing Grateful Dead, and Pink floyd on multiple instruments. Solo players just jamming to themselves. Patchouli oil, sweat and sage were in the air. Inside, in the kitchen was the owner's son. We talked for hours and he played music and dropped LSD. I thought he was looping about being a gift, like he kept saying it and crying tears of joy. He kept telling everyone he saw how lucky he was. His name meant "gift" in their language. "My parents love me that much. I am a gift to them!" His name was Upahar. I wish I could tell him how much he impacted me from that day forward and how when 10 years later I had my first son, I named him Caleb. That means "all of heart". What a f@!#%n time to be alive.
