  • Welcome to our off-grid life in Australia! In this video, we invite you to experience a few special days filled with celebration, hard work, and the beauty of nature.
Today, we celebrate Paul's birthday, which also marks our 14th anniversary together. Over the years, we've faced countless challenges and heartaches, raised two boys, and built a life filled with love and resilience. Join us as we reflect on our journey and share some heartfelt moments.
The day starts with a delicious breakfast, featuring a frittata made with bacon, kale, and parsley from our garden. We surprise Paul with a post hole digger, a gift that promises to make our work a bit easier. Watch as Truffles, our mischievous dog, adds joy and laughter to the day with her playful antics.
We'll take you through the frosty morning, where we discover a beautiful puddle of ice shaped like a Christmas tree, and witness a sudden rainstorm followed by a stunning rainbow. Despite the joy, we also face the sorrow of losing one of our hens and the reality of ongoing hard work on our homestead.
Paul takes on the challenge of fixing our ride-on mower, a Masport with a Briggs and Stratton engine. With no engine number and limited resources, it took months to sort out the repairs. But with determination and some help from the Tenterfield Mower Centre, Paul successfully replaces the gasket, reseats the valves, and gets the mower running again.
In our journey, we encounter an echidna wandering across our field, reminding us of the wild beauty that surrounds us. We also repurpose an old dog cage into a greenhouse, planning and securing it against the wind to protect our plants from the frost.
As the day ends, we gather to enjoy a meal, reflect on our journey, and prepare for the future. Each day off the grid brings new challenges and triumphs, and we continue to grow stronger and more resilient.
Thank you for joining us on this adventure. If you enjoyed this video, please like, comment, and subscribe to follow our journey. Your support means the world to us!

What a beautiful rainbow . Im glad the ride on is fixed . I didn't know there were battery powered hole diggers . Thats brilliant. We had a noisy smelly one for years and it didn't have that safety bar , we had a few wrists twisted using it and hitting rocks over the years. A meal from your own patch does nourish us deep down , more than just a meal. I hope you have many more years together. Family life and marriage can be the biggest challenge and our greatest joy , i wouldn't want it any other way . Take care lovelies ❤❤

Thanks Naomi, I hope you’re all well. I love seeing rainbows! Yes, we borrowed a hole digger like yours when we built our outhouse, it did the job but I think this one is better, well hopefully anyway. I don’t know how we made it to 14 years but we did!
