Why don't you demo it? What does it sounds like? Who reads the stories? What's the radio like? How is the sound quality?
The CPSC just issued a safety recall on these, the lithium battery can overheat and cause a burn or fire.
In the UK they are sending out a replacement cable rather than recalling the product. It's a real shame the Mini has this issue as it's a great device. I understand the Yoto Player is not affected.

Yes you can! I have three Yoto devices and can switch between all of them in the app on my phone.
