    Did this two years ago in first class in the old EC cars. I loved it. Little typo in the video: it's Außbervals with a "b", but I think it's better known as Sankt Jodok am Brenner. The views are amazing.

    Last year I travelled by the old ÖBB Railjet from Budapest to München and the experience was great. And regarding the train station, I didn't mind about that mess. In fact I am very glad that they modernize their train stations. I live in Romania, and the most modern train station in my country is Arad (which is a small city compared to Bucharest). But even other train stations, from other European cities and capital cities are more modern than Bucharest train station. I say that from my experience.

    I'll be traveling to Venice soon and I'm still picking the Eurocity. All that doesn't matter when the seats in 90s carriages are a lot more comfortable.

    Great trip. It's bit surprising me this is first time you passing the Brenner Pass after series of Railjet and Nightjet you try. Can't wait for the cab car operational, and I hope Siemens can rebirth this Taurus into new generation in the future.

    Great video Thibault. I think business class on Railjet is one of my favorite rides. I like the comfort they provide. Great comfortable seats. I also get a free beer when i pay the extra fee with my Eurail Global pass😊

    I will miss the old business class on this train, it was the best seat on a train in Europe. I don't get how OBB considers this an improvement or upgrade, it really isn't in my opinion.

    They changed that business class. I was sitting in a solo seat on.all my Railjet business trips...that makes no sense. If youre traveling on business you dont want to be crowded next to people. Is it just this train route?

      They still have that, but on the very first/last wagon (not control car)

    Really is a beautiful train: so sleek and clean (right now!). Too bad that the seats in economy and even business are not more comfortable. That is a big issue!

    6:30 how does this work? Do i need a banking card and use my pin for that? seems unsafe to me.

    I really miss the old titles on the videos instead of the use of UA-cam cc. The closed captions are quite small and not very readable.

    I was on this train the other way around this october, going directly from Bologna to Münich. It was a pretty bad experience, expeccially compared to the excelent Italian high speed services by Freccia Rossa i had been enjoying the week before that (very comforable chairs, a free drink and snack, wifi, punctuality).
    This OBB railjet is bad. The seats are as hard as wooden planks!
    There is a dining car on board but the quality of the food is poor (frozen/microwaved meal that made me think of airplane food).
    My train managed to get 60 minutes delayed, and had to be canceled in Münich Ost because the German trafic management refused to let the train into Münich HBF because of the delay. So all the passangers had to use the S-bahn instead.
    Also the information display on these trains do not update, so it only shows the original arrival times, meaning the conductor has to keep informing the passengers by speaker about the delays.
    Such a downgrade from the previous railjets, which are very comfortable!

    I was not impressed with the new RailJet train and much prefer the RailJet 1. I found the seats uncomfortable and hard (1st Class) but the obvious reinstatement of the dining cars to be a huge improvement. Why inside are there raised sections on occasions, doesn’t make sense. 6/10 overall

    Nothing beats central Europe's trains. Siemens ALWAYS deliver with speed. We need these new generation Viaggio coaches in the UK to replace the HST's, as well as tri-mode versions of either the Taurus or Vectron. Fingers crossed Brexit can be reversed in future so we can approve the plans. Not one for politics, but it's just an idea.

    I think Railjet NG is not good for these reasons:
    Interior and comfort:
    Lack of space: the seats are too narrow and hard, especially in second class. There is not enough legroom, which is especially noticeable in first and business class.
    * Non-ergonomic layout: the seats are not ergonomic enough, causing discomfort on longer journeys.
    * Lack of privacy: the second class coupe does not offer sufficient privacy.
    * Poor quality of materials: the materials used are prone to trapping dirt and give a cheap impression.
    * Lack of baskets: Absence of dustbins leads to clutter and hygiene problems.
    * Difficult to operate: some functions are difficult to operate, such as switching on the reading lamp or flushing the toilet.
    *Dumb placement of tables: extension tables are placed below the main table, further reducing the already poor legroom
    Catering:
    * Problem with card payment: Recurring problem with card payment in the bistro.
    * Not working portal: couldn’t order food by portal
    Design and practicality:
    Some design solutions are impractical and make travelling difficult (e.g. no baskets, lighting controls, bicycle transportation, seat tag with possible reservation only in coupe).
    * Low-floor access with restrictions: although the train is partially low-floor, transporting bicycles requires climbing steps.
    Overall, the new railjet NG places more emphasis on modern design than practicality and passenger comfort.

      Seats in second class are among the best in Europe, far better than in original Railjet.
