halford almost sounds perfect here, comparing to just after the painkiller album came out he always sounded an octave lower and always struggled to get higher, but this performance is just incredible!
this is the best performance of Halford singing Painkiller, sadly I can't say the same for the guitar player if the band here would have been Priest this thing would be awesome
@TheTrooper9169666 Rob said that drummer Bobby Jarzombek is the best he has played with & while Travis is good I have to agree with Rob, Jarzombek is a drummer god
I agree with dercetto, Rob's vocals are much better than they were in the other live videos of this song. I don't know if it makes up for those solos, though. Still, better than I could play them.
I love 0:36, I thought the opening "Ya ya ya ya-ya ya ya" was boring and redundant, but when he introduced the song, that was an awesome note he hit. Badass, love Judas Priest, especially the Painkiller single!
Ripper sounded good, but a lot of the songs on Jugulator and Demolition weren't up to Priest standards, had a lot of industrial and weird stuff in it. Although Bullet Train is easily one of my favorite Priest songs of all time.
@finalfantac Because Halford wasnt in Priest at this time and the fans still wanted to hear at least a couple Priest songs, I mean cmon if you were at a Festival and saw Halford wouldnt you want to hear Halford sign Priest songs?
@m3talmast3er This is Halford. You should definately check out Halford and especially Fight.2wo is more Industrial, if you like that kind of music, then you should check them out, too!
is this Fight, Halford or 2wo? because i know he has bands besides judas priest, but i never heard them P.D: glenn tipton's album, baptizm of fire is awesome, check it out
Yea you probably are- but in Halford's defense this song is REALLY hard to sing perfectly live. It's like a mixture between a high-pitch belt and sining with little bass in the voice and a live mic can't really capture it as good When Ripper performed this song he sorta took the easy way out and sang in a lower pitch during the verses
@eriksic Im a huge metal fan and had posters of Halford all over my walls in the late 70s early 80s still didnt realise how gay he looked. still an awesome vocalist.
Strange! I was there but I remember a different set of facts: It was raining as hell, under the stage there was nobody litterally, so Halford came out and screem "painkiller" and suddenly al the people that were under a Stadium's roof ran to the stage as a wave....... really, relly strange!
@finalfantac ....well he DID write it...if you played this to someone who without telling them its not judas priest, they would probably thing it was (at least til the solo)
Only Glen Tipton, KK Downing and Richie Faulkner can play the riff and solos Only Ian Hill can play the bass line Only Scott Travis can play the drum solo and rhythm ... Sorry Halford, only with Judas
Bobby jarzombek , born 1963 . He is from the.old school too Brother of S.A SLAYER Ron jarzombek , more known as Guitar player of watchtower Bobby was in Juggernaut in 1985 to 1987 Then Riot in 1988 ( yes thundersteel is him ) till mid 90's . Then Spastik Ink with his brother . Then Halford .
What a masterpiece! Hearing this song is like a razor blade going through your brain... in a good way!!
Bobby Jarzombek on drums: great!!!

I was here! 2003 it's wrong, it was 2002! ;)
The drums in this song are absolutley SICK

@TheTrooper9169666 Rob said that drummer Bobby Jarzombek is the best he has played with & while Travis is good I have to agree with Rob, Jarzombek is a drummer god
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh snap!
I agree with dercetto, Rob's vocals are much better than they were in the other live videos of this song. I don't know if it makes up for those solos, though. Still, better than I could play them.
i agree !
3:11 "fuck this, i will return to judas priest"
Yeah, one of my favourite heavy metal screams...;)
1:04 someone just jizzzed listening to that dirty riff !!
THIS is why Halford belongs with the Priest.
I love 0:36, I thought the opening "Ya ya ya ya-ya ya ya" was boring and redundant, but when he introduced the song, that was an awesome note he hit. Badass, love Judas Priest, especially the Painkiller single!
Que facha por dios Rob te amo
YEYEYEYEYEYE LOOL
@000Liakos000 this is rob's band Halford that he started after fight
This version is way better than any 90-91 version, are you guys on crack
In the Toronto one in 1991 he sang with his Ram it down reminiscent voice, killer.
Probably because he broke his nose by motorbike accident on stage

As someone said before, it was 2002 not 2003. \m/
hahaha missable quality of that famous song :D
preist are metal gods they will always be!
Respect divinity when you face it
Painkiller and guy at 1.13 going about doing his thing pushing a cabinet backstage.
@finalfantac i totally agree with you
The sound In General needs about 30 or 40 miilseconds of delay to fatten it up a little but It does sound good.
LOL I love how they try to do the guitar dueling but fail..
anche io!
i was there great fuckin concert
His sixty now. Was born 1948'.
This is good but i like it when Robs other band does it, cant remember the name of it...
Ripper sounded good, but a lot of the songs on Jugulator and Demolition weren't up to Priest standards, had a lot of industrial and weird stuff in it. Although Bullet Train is easily one of my favorite Priest songs of all time.
@j8ers94 LOL!! I think that was Peter North!
@TodayAt420

@TheTrooper9169666 well this is a BOOTLEG so go figure on the quality. Glad to hear JP again.
@finalfantac Because Halford wasnt in Priest at this time and the fans still wanted to hear at least a couple Priest songs, I mean cmon if you were at a Festival and saw Halford wouldnt you want to hear Halford sign Priest songs?

@riotcstrike halford is amongst the few who still CAN actually. not to mention he sounds great
@000Liakos000
no, the audio is not in sync with the video, and it's sounds completly differente and worse than the studio album , doh.
@finalfantac Halford band are not shitty, they did a pretty good version of this song.
i think halford is playing at ozzfest 2010
Io c'ero !!!
He is the painful squeeker !
You can see someone in the audience jizz due to the awesomeness of this song at 1:05
@TheTrooper9169666 Well fuckin' said! This was top quality playin all round!
@eriksic Im a huge metal fan and had posters of Halford all over my walls in the late 70s early 80s still didnt realise how gay he looked. still an awesome vocalist.
@HuberttXXX17 oh was that meant as a solo i tought his guitar exploded
Strange! I was there but I remember a different set of facts: It was raining as hell, under the stage there was nobody litterally, so Halford came out and screem "painkiller" and suddenly al the people that were under a Stadium's roof ran to the stage as a wave....... really, relly strange!
You are a bit "rincoglionito".
wooo Jarzombek
Damn, makes you miss the rest of priest. Those guys aren't even close.
@finalfantac ....well he DID write it...if you played this to someone who without telling them its not judas priest, they would probably thing it was (at least til the solo)
Why 44 dislikes? :(
3:11 rob: fuck off, i need glenn solos, soctt drums, downing solos, fuck off!!
Only Glen Tipton, KK Downing and Richie Faulkner can play the riff and solos
Only Ian Hill can play the bass line
Only Scott Travis can play the drum solo and rhythm
...
Sorry Halford, only with Judas
***** 1651997 0:34

This is Spartaaaaaaaaaaaa ... ops ... is Painkiller ...
this isnt Priest. at least its not the one we've all come to know and love
the painkiller!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 0:34
This is not Priest, but Halford.
Not bad!
@TheTrooper9169666 That drummer sure looks like Thomas Lang to me from here... sounds like him too, but I really can't tell for sure.
Bobby jarzombek , born 1963 .
He is from the.old school too
Brother of S.A SLAYER Ron jarzombek , more known as Guitar player of watchtower
Bobby was in Juggernaut in 1985 to 1987
Then Riot in 1988 ( yes thundersteel is him ) till mid 90's .
Then Spastik Ink with his brother .
Then Halford .
wth is with the first 30 seconds?!? O.O
LMFAO Bobby sounds like Donald Duck while singin' in high-pitch.
ADAM SANDLER on bass?
Hey, look...it's Rob Halford singing for some amateur college Priest tribute band! Too funny.
LoL its Judas Priest-Painkiller* not Halford-Painkiller...-.-
@GodzillaVsEveryone i was just thinking that really ruined it i should have half a chub right now but i dont
This is 2002 not 2003
Poor ROB!!!!!!!!!!!!
