that is connecting alaska (700 000 population) with chukotka (50 000 population). If we think about the landmass these regions possess (chukotka - 1 france, alaska 2,5 france)... I really dont see any point to build a bridge and railway in a mountain tundra region with very harsh conditions. You will just need the 50 000 ppl of chukotka to maintain the infrastructure xD. There are literally no MILLION cities around and no one wants to live there because you have to heat your home 12 months a year.

14,000 years ago the Bering Strait was a land bridge. Sea-levels were low enough for hunter-gatherers to make the crossing on foot. People left the North Asian Steppe to eventually populate North and South America.
During winter the 2.4 mile gap between the Diomedes completely freezes, this allowed the native populations to make the crossing from America to Russia on foot. Trade and travel between the Diomedes was common until the Cold War, the border became known as the “Ice Curtain”. Little Diomede still has 110 American residents today - they have a school, a shop, and a helicopter for the postman.
Karl Bushby and Dimitri Kieffer’s crossing in 2006 was part of Bushby’s attempt to walk around the entire world. It took them 15 days to cross and they were arrested on arrival. This caused a major delay to his world-trip as he was banned from Russia.
If you’ve never seen this clip (0:15) before then do yourself a favour, Yeltsin & Clinton lose it at a press conference ua-cam.com/video/TdPuEqeG3Xw/v-deo.html
Magadan to Fairbanks (4:30) is almost a straight line! www.google.com/maps/@66.2041593,178.148932,4.66z
[1] The CO2 values are very rough estimates. The true values can vary wildly depending on the type of fuel, engine, size of vehicle, amount of cargo on board, & sea/wind conditions. Time and cost estimates were provided by shipping companies (A1 Freight & MoveHub). Prices would likely be cheaper when negotiating in bulk or for a large established company - I enquired as an individual. Rail & Road prices came from different routes of similar length. (Journal for Transportation & Economonic Policy, 2018)
[2] International Heat Flow Commission (2015). There are small areas with much greater heat flow (up to 190mW/m2) but this map is using contours to show the average of regions.
[3] This map is only hypothetical. China are building a lot of high speed rail links across the world, but the locations and routes shown in this map are just guesswork.
China are investing a huge amount into neighbouring countries, for 4 main reasons: it eases tensions if China is spending money on them, it gives China access to critical railway and maritime routes, it allows them to easily outsource cheap material production such as steel, concrete and glass, and if countries are indebted to China they’re less likely to vote against them at international gatherings.
China were recently in a bidding war with Japan to build a new railway in Indonesia. China won by offering to build it for free. Why? Because they want their designs to become the international standard.
The article (1:09) “Intercontinental peace bridge could join East and West” originally appeared in the July-August 1987 issue of PCI Journal, Vol. 32, No. 4, pp. 140-44.

And you get the added bonus of literally being able to drive across ALL of Europe and the Middle East. :)
Also, pull some strings and American and Russian workers will gladly build up nice road for Russia and then America and Russia get the economic benefit. We need to put aside stupid grudges and simply forget the evil past. A lot of my friends are Russian and I love them all!

Any facts statistics and or proof of this claim?
You realize that the water way between Russia and Alaska is only about 25 km across right? You do realize that large boats are a thing right?
If anything human trafficking across this waterway is even worse with boats because unlike a road where you can have guards on either side of the bridge, a boat you can't check or guard against... Alas, I guess your brain isn't big enough to comprehend these things.

Can be done. The CBBT in Virginia is 17 miles. It's a flat bridge with 2 tunnels. Has small arch suspension bridge. I think they made it for sailboats, but the ships go past where tunnels are. I just think it's a matter of when

If this was to actually happen and this could connect China to Russia across to Alaska into Canada and then back to the mainland US that could actually be a major historical moment. It would not only make trains more prominent profitable in the US it would be a very cheep (compared to plains)and scenic route all across the world if China is actually making railroads into Africa and Europe. The whole world would be a lot more connected.(besides Australia and New Zealand)

China and Russia can collaborate all they want but this will not happen without US and Canadian involvement. I don't see the United States allowing such a project due to national security concerns. Things would have to change drastically in both China and Russia politically before such a railway is possible.
