Being a CA students at final stage our class group also perfoms a debate on that indexation topic. If govt remove such indexation in future whatever you purchase suppose one CR home you are likely to pay 36 lakh around tax . Basically indexation helps to reduce the profit
Suppose If you purchased home in year 2000 and value of that home is 10 lakh and you sell it in 2024 for 60 lakh then earlier govt adjust that 10 lakh with inflated amt and 10 lakh become roughly 50 lakh
And you eligible to pay capital gain tax on 10 lakh ( 60 lakh - 50lakh )
But because of removing of indexation purchase amt i.e 10 lakh in year 2000 does not adjusted to 50 lakh and then you're liable to pay tax on 50 lakh (60 lakh - 10 lakh ).

I don't agree with the Aam Aadmi party's policies, but I 100% agree with what Raghav Chadha has said. He has rightly articulated the agony pain and frustration of the tax paying middle class. I am a 20 year old youth and today I am afraid to make investment whether it may be (STCG OR LTCG) because now a big section of my income is being taken back by the government. thats true, taxes are same as in Germany of 30% to 20% but no healthcare, no proper transportation and most importantly no free education. And more over we are charged road tolls. Then where are those taxes going in?
Hey Unemployed man, have you visited europe? have you ? the videos that you see in youtube and the reality is opposite, have you seen their healthcare 1.8 lakh rs for a bottle of insulin, and this is of germany, India has one of the best hospitality system and health care system okay lets be easy then why most of the doctor who do their mbbs in europe or russia fail in india, answer is they dont have practical in europe due to less population if something happens there then the hospital would be responsible, and yeah i agree with you on transportation as their land transportation is good, we too have good transportation but we can only use that if we have money ( middle class), bro for free education you need loan and the whole europe has this problem only, i.e loan, in one side india is trying to reduce its loan while on other countries they are taking loan after loan, and if govt takes loan then we have our illiterate people thinking that taking loan is bad for health I am not contradicting you but i am sure that you live in semi urban city, move to a good city like hyderabad,noida,bhuwaneshwar you will get world class facilities but you need to have money. We are a developing country thanks to congress for that but can make future better.

I am BJP supporter, but Chadha's criticism is valid. Nirmala Seetaraman should take it constructively. It is the middle class who have solidly backed BJP, not the minorities of Rampur who took PM Awas Yojna benefits & gave 0 votes to BJP. They should take care of their core constituency instead of this 'sabka saath' bakwaas. Modi is busy building his international image while losing ground on local soil. Time for him to wake up & realise that he is not invincible.

If government can’t impose tax directly in agricultural income who earns more than 5 lakh. they should give tax. And that tax should directly benefit the poor farmers.
