    Jim, you are so very skilled. It looks great, makes me want one. It is a great way to store your locos ready to go.

      Thanks Tak..I took it apart again and repositioned the light so it shines down the bridge lighting one entire side of the loco when it's on the bridge and the inside of the hut..jim

    An exceptionally good piece of video Jim. The opening shot is brilliant ... you are doing a grand job on that turntable. I look forward to seeing it when finished.

    A turntable track power question.
    At each end of the bridge track there are 2 small c30mm track sections.
    When testing for current, one end has an ok multimeter power reading.
    At the other end of the bridge, the there is no power when touching the
    small section.
    Could you explain the purpose of the small track sections and are mine
    working correctly, or how to remedy?
    Many thanks……
    ps your complete presentation has been most helpful.

      Hi David it depends on what type of fleischmann Turn table you have , is yours marked C after the fleischmann numbers the box?

      @@hovermotion I have inserted a "BLOCKSignalling DCC Autoreverser REV1" into the bridge power, yellow circuit from the dcc power busbar.

      @@davidhudson391 Double check all wireing,
      You should have power on both sides on the 6152 only the 6152 C {comfort} requires a switch to switch the power from one side of the bridge to the other side of the bridge.
      it could be the loop module have you tested the loop mod to make sure its working?

    Fabulous! Not familiar with continental railway models, what is the musical scale that plays when the loco moves? Quite fascinated by that!

      Hi...its abcdef sharp etc on a viloin ..the real loco electric motors sound like this when pulling off in real life , Some austrian electric locos play clasical music when pulling into and out of stations...jim

    Hi Jim, Following all this with great interest. Have now located a turntable s/h brand new on the bay, and ordered the Vollmer 6 lane roundhouse (may get another actually). Just about to order the Lenz unit now. For the FL insulating joiners - do you need them at every exit or just the main track onto the TT. I like the idea of lighting it all up as well - may have to give that a go. Cheers

    • @hovermotion
      @hovermotion  9 років тому

      Hi,
      You only need the insulated joiners on the entrance to the tt,
      But if you want dcc sound locos on standby with there sound and lighting switched on regardless of where the bridge is you will need insulated joiners for all the track exits off the tt.
      I only have about 4 exits done like this e.g coal yard etc...
      I still need to get the tt decoder to finish off the final part of this how to on the tt . There are a few decoders to choose from and many ways it can be automated or connected to the command center or dcc controller .
      Jim.

      hovermotion Thanks for that. I actually just put an order into MSL for 2x packs of joiners, the Lenz and some Profi track, since I do have flexi track but keeping it simple in the roundhouse area. With being in Germany and the way the £/Euro is right now, makes for good pricing.Hoping to get a bit more work done over the next 2 weeks. Cheers Paul

      hovermotion Most of the time but the layout is down in our house in France, long story...can email you some pics if you wish - have identified a location for the TT but like you will need a bit of base board upgrading.

    Hi following all your Vidoes Great. Not sure of what Baffering Tape is or where you get it from please can you advise.

    • @hovermotion
      @hovermotion  7 років тому

      Trevor Martin Hi Thanks...
      I think you mean decoder tape its basicly a flexible mouldable sticky tape which can be cut to length ..I get it from Wicks home improvements store in the u.k and its off the shelf bath edge trim tape in a box.

    hello mate...just wanted to ask you what track you use...i have a plan layout that i have in mind..i wanted to run HO (europe and australia) and 00 as the mood takes me...what track do you think would be good..i was leaning towards peco or fleischman track....also,are these tracks compatible?.. i was told shinohara was the best, but that may only be one mans opinion. there is a very good website called "anyrail 5" that allows u to build your own layout on the computer, its very good if you dont know of it..thanks for all your advice from time to time...marty

    • @hovermotion
      @hovermotion  10 років тому +1

      Hi marty,
      Never heard of shinohara track but it looks very prototypical. .
      Peco and fleischmann track are compatible but the fleischmann profi track is pre ballasted so if you mix them up you will have to match the fleischmann track on the ballasting of the peco track.
      The fleischmann track system is more expensive it works flawlessly as it uses tension loaded rail joiners so no bus wire system is required I only have about 6 power feeds for the entire system.
      The fleischmann track geometry is very good a pleasure to work with...
      Thanks ji.
