This video was great! So many key points. The silo metaphor about some of our practices was and is spot on. A major point that reinforces the need and now availability of research based standards for O&M as well as researched based instructional times coupled with effectiveness of instructional arrangements. And these are based on age/grade level skills rather than vision conditions. We know that many students leave school with no skills or maybe splinter skills and enter adult services who often work under unrealistic time frames for teaching. And finally the clear message of application of learned skills where the client actually will use those skills. Absent an effective application of skills, we can’t be sure that real learning has occurred. So much more but not here- well done and thank you!
