    Going through some sounds that are great for Oldschool House and Classic House Productions. The M1 has some very famous Sounds but in this video I am focusing more on sounds that are great but not as knows. Starting the video with some Drums and how to Edit Drums im the Korg M1 and customise the M1 Drums Kits. Then covering a bit of Music Theory for Classic House Basslines and Pentatonic and Blues Scales. And Finishing up with some more cool Korg M1 Keyboard and Synth sounds.

    • @OleansHouse
      @OleansHouse  8 місяців тому

      william, so great to have you tune in! If I'm honest I feel like a sweet rhodes sound is something somewhat missing inside the M1, but you will find many sweet electric piano sounds through the program tab and filtering for piano. Hope this helps!

    I have the M1 Legacy connected through my Mac mini normally.
    Our church keyboard fizzed out last night and I want to take my Yamaha piaggero NP12 and connect it through my laptop M1 Legacy and run it through the church system.
    I doing a trial run at home and I disconnected from my Mac Mini and ran the piano keyboard midi to my laptop then connected my 1/8 chord from my headphones Jack to an external speaker.
    I can get the M1 software to play one the laptop M1 keyboard when I use my mouse but it is not going to the speaker. I can play Netflix movie and the sound will go through the speakers however the M1 only plays through my laptop speakers.
    I have gone in to my settings>sound >output device headphones and I cannot get the sound to go to the speakers.
    I am even less than an amateur when it comes to this but you explained things so well in your video I thought you might know what’s going on.
    I don’t know if I’m supposed to do anything in the “Global” settings.
    Any advice?

    • @OleansHouse
      @OleansHouse  2 роки тому

      I would honestly assume that anything sound routing related would have to be adjusted in your DAW not inside of the M1. Midi routing has to be correct and then the output from your DAW. There is a system setting area in the global tab inside of the m1, but this should be fine by default. Hope u get it to work soon! :)

    How did you get those keys to sound like that? I noticed you were using the E. PIano 4, but when I select that patch it does not sound like that classic 90's House/New Jack sound that you have in your video.

    Hey. So can the presets in the KORG M1 all be deconstructed as in we can pick apart all the oscillators that made up the sound ect or are the presets just samples that can be manipulated very much? Hope that makes sense?

    • @OleansHouse
      @OleansHouse  Рік тому

      I’d day its a mix of both. you can filter, layer and put FX on every sound and the sounds range from simple waveforms to more complex samples. But if you have an FM based organ sound you wont be able to adjust the different operators etc since its a sample.

  • @bluebellbeatnik4945
    @bluebellbeatnik4945 Рік тому

    Can you please show us the performance etc. tabs? I'd be curious to know how much we can fk with the sounds e.g. can we detune specific notes as with wavestation, can we mess with the overall shape/envelop of the sound?

    As a new Beginner learning Ableton live I plan to buy the M1 V2 plugin the next time Korg has it on sale for $50 & I have my Akai MPC One Gold coming on Thursday & my set up includes a MacBook Pro Focusrite 2i2 audio interface a Rode Podmic a ION USB turntable Sony MDR-7506 headphones a M-Audio 61-Key USB keyboard 🎹 controller & a I got a Brand New! 1994 Roland JV-1080 Midi Sound Module I added 4 SR-JV80 Expansion boards (Session) (Orchestral) (Keyboards 🎹 of the 60s & 70s) & the classic (Dance) expansion board
    I have one important question since you’re a expert & using Ableton Live Is there a way after you load the M-1 VST sounds into Ableton can you then transfer the M1 synth sounds to the pads on the MPC? Because if….you say that I can then I want to transfer the drums that you used @7:04 with the bass lines then add something from the 1080 dance expansion board I can just play the organ 2 patch from the M1 either way with my set up I should be able to make a hot house track

    • @OleansHouse
      @OleansHouse  Рік тому

      if you figure out the midi routing og your mpc and the m1 there should be no issue linking it. worst case u might have to record some things and build a sample instrument for your mpc. nice set up! I’m looking forward to hearing some of those house gems :)

      @@OleansHouse Thanks by the way I forgot to add that I have a pair of silver Rokit KRK Monitors too & when I had seen your video & heard was you was playing I know that I had to have the plugin & unfortunately I had missed the April 27th $50 deadline & now it went back up to $100 & because I’m using a MacBook Pro 💻 Mid-2012 running MacOS Catalina 10.15.7 16GB memory 500GB Sata drive 1TB SSD i7 Processor 2.8 GHZ I don’t want to take any chances loading any cracked software in my laptop not to mention that mines is like brand new & I’ve had it for 2 years
      And to me the M1 V2 is the only plugin that’s worth paying for so I will be using that along with certain free plugins (Spitfire labs) (Dexed FM Syths) which has all of the DX7 sounds (Addictive Keys 🎹) which came free with my focusrite 2i2 (Keystone Classics) & that’s about it & although I like the Keyscape sounds it’s not worth the $379 especially for what I already have not to mention the vintage keys 🎹 sounds that’s in Spitfire labs sounds so good with their Fender Rhodes sounds you will not miss the Keyscape or the Fender Rhodes V8 plugin sounds.

    I have been searching everywhere to purchase presets/patches of Korg M1 house piano, but no one seems to have them. There are several videos here on UA-cam explaining how to make a great house piano sound, but all of them involve using additional EQ, reverb and compression VST's that I don't own, so watching these videos are frustratingly pointless for me. Also, my DAW is ProTools, not Ableton Live or any of the other DAW's shown in these videos. So rather than a) Pay an arm & a leg to purchase more EQ, Reverb & Compression VST's; B) Learn how to use them then C) Come back to these videos and follow the steps to learn how to make my house piano tracks sound better, can I just PAY someone for a darn patch/preset and be done with it? If you have a preset that you can sell me for a killer house piano sound, I would gladly purchase it from you!!!!

    • @zechs5079
      @zechs5079 7 місяців тому

      Just buy the plugin dude. KORG has copyrighted the M1 piano house sound so you're only going to get the original sound by buying the M1 plugin

    • @MiddleCchoir
      @MiddleCchoir 7 місяців тому

      @@zechs5079 I have the plugin. There is far more to it than simply pulling up the house piano sounds. There are some extremely cool & very different ways to make house piano sounds through EQ and various processors. Thus, the reason for my initial question.
