After a horrible start for Red Bull and with the Ferrari SF24 Evo already working perfectly, we look at Friday's analysis to review the teams that are performing well and those that are struggling. Aston Martin seems to be suffering again, while McLaren has shown incredible race pace. Who will come out on top in a very tricky Imola GP weekend?

It's free practice. Red bull consistently sandbag in free practice before Max goes on to win by 20s+
Mercedes have also been fastest in FP before going on to be very disappointing in quali and race pace.
Different teams run different engine modes and fuel loads. Wait til quali to judge a cars true performance!

The problem with Aston Martin is Mercedes. With mercs rear suspension and gearbox setup as well as lack of rear end stability and tyre management, it all does not correlate and work for AM

@@alexnone3374 I think the biggest issue is that they're sharing the Mercedes wind tunnel until theirs is completed. Both teams have massive correlation issues and can't upgrade their car the way the other top teams can. To my mind it's got a fundamental flaw that makes it worthless with these regulations. When Aston start using their own wind tunnel I genuinely think they'll leave Merc behind

I really hope that RB keeps struggling like this through out the weekend and that Ferrari are going to gap Mclaren. I'll probably be wrong but still, just let me dream. Also, I am pretty sure that Ferrari was still down on power.

Haven't been here for long but this seems like a good channel to follow, no BS , straight to the point with great insight. Keep it up, you'll soon hit 100k+ and beyond. I feel alot of F1 fans are looking for a channel just like this,and are so hard to find among the sea of gossip channels.
Also it might be just me but I find the background music sometimes a bit too distracting? Maybe because it's a good tune lol.

Part of me wants to think it’s a bit of sandbagging, but there is the other side that says, and I’m reluctant to say “this has happened before this season, it’s actually a real problem”
It very well could be knowing how good they are at finding there footing again
This time it's sandbagging as a result of prioritizing the longer practice run on fuel. Also, race day weather will be very different, AND They feel confident already about Their qualifying setup choices.
Ferrari is just pandering to The Tifosi as well They should at Imola.

@@F1UnchainedI would say maybe a few editing tweaks like from 3:10-3:30 instead of just stagnant pictures make it an actual video of the Aston Martin driving around track simple tweaks like that might help (that’s just one quick example i picked out)

It’s absolutely incredible that this is happening to Mercedes and Aston Martin. How can a wind tunnel not be producing what’s expected at the track? Might be a good video to explain why the wind tunnel is failing both teams.

Correlation is talked about a lot regarding MB and AM. They both seem to suffer the same issue between wind tunnel and on track data. With th ressources each have, I am encouraged in thinking that AM's new wind tunnel and MB's upcoming upgrade to their wind tunnel - bodes interesting outcomes for the upcoming seasons. There is nothing like adversity to stimulate innovation and R&D.

This is looking good, imo the regulations ares doing pretty good and we will a get a closer field as time pases, is just that RB nailed these regulations perfectly and the rest did terribly.

There’s one other thing worth mentioning. Now, I don’t know about McLaren but Ferrari and Red Bull tend to run in the practice sessions with their engines turned down, so there’s likely more performance yet to be revealed.
I'm fairly sure all teams turn their engines down for practices to preserve the engine
The difference is fuel and RedBull Always run heavier than the rest.
I love Yuki and I'm a big fan but I'm afraid that RB race pace is very bad compared to one-lap pace, it was always and still is a weackness of that car
