The spool is the same but the bearing on the spool pin is bigger for better rotation have to reel done some precast in the drive way and it cast a 1.6 gms at least 50 ft
Nice comparison. The 60Elite looks like a Curodo BFS wannabe. It has an aluminum frame as opposed to the carbon frame that the regular 60Air version has. It looks like a winner to me. I just ordered one to test it out.
It’s a very good reel! I’ve been using it a good bit and I’m impressed! I’m waiting for them to send me the new reel that they’re releasing built by Pure Lure and not by DMK.
Great looking reel. DMK make Kastking reels, The Sharky 3 has the same brake system as these Actually I think these are almost the same reel but with bfs spools. Very similar. Sharky 3 has a normal spool, about 11 g I think. But yeah, almost identical mechanically. Cheers👍.
I think Pure Lure thought it was going to be black as well because he even asked if I wanted to try the black silver feather. I’m hoping in June I’m really blown away by the reel that they produce themselves!
We will see! I’m hoping that they can at least make improvements based on the original silver feather and hopefully everything is going to be consistent with them!
Yeah I’m not a fan of silver reels either(but some do look reel good 😊) but in a BFS reel you don’t need that much drag pressure so I didn’t count that as a positive
Off topic comment here, im trying to find out if some abu garcia (revo) parts (drag star, spool tension cap) will fit a lews speed spool? Im wanting to dress a couple up with gomexus parts like i have my slx's & curados. I read somewhere that they do interchange. Thanks.

Yeah I’ve been fishing with it a few times now and it cast very good! 2.6g like 60ft

If the new one blows both away. Hopefully, it has a deep spool or dual spool. That would be the cherry on top.

Another positive improvement is the drag power going to 5KG from the previous 4KG. If its true. The new color is great. I not a fan of silver reels.

The Elite is a magnesium frame, that's where most of the weight difference comes in.
Yeah but the new reel is heavier than the older version so that’s why I was thinking it has to be because of the handle.
The Elite's frame is actually ALUMINUM rather than the original's carbon fiber. This isn't nuclear science, just read the description!
Please try the Elite out hope it performs same or better than the original
