Rochell should be the last person talking about making mistakes because god forbid CHRIS was the one to tape over HER shows and he would get yelled at and called an ungrateful child
The reason is because there has to be a good cop bad cop. If both parents are the bad cop the kids won’t feel safe. With my parents it alternated depending on the problem, but both parents were never the bad cop. In Rochelle’s case she’s always the bad cop, so the kids will always see her as such, but the dad is supposed to be the calm one. He’s supposed to help the kids feel safe when the mom goes out of control. There has to be a balance.

Trust me, they are never scared of the Father. Only the mother lol. They love their dad with everything because they know how hard he works for them. I think Tanya was genuinely sad that she ruined her dad’s show. Not that he was mad at her. Rochelle pretty much just didn’t like Julius having authority as a father.
This scene is deeper than it looks. Even going as far as telling him that he needed 2 apologize for her messing up in a rather emasculating way but she snapped on everybody about her turtles. Thoroughly undermining his parental authority to his daughter and lowkey grooming her to see him as an inferior regardless of how hard he works for them. Can you imagine how small she'll see him in her adult years, smh. This is the kind of psychological/social warfare being waged within families all over the country. I like rochelle's character but their needed to come times where she acknowledged that dad was the anchor and the weight he pulled was recognized and respected, not mildly rewarded occasionally.
@@joshdaboss2365 he's not speaking facts he is being stupid imagine scolding your children just because you couldn't watch your favorite show, i've never heard defending such petty parents.
Think people also forget this was during the age where reruns weren't really a thing. If you missed something then you missed it for who knows how long. One episode even higlights how long a movie would come out on video if you missed it in Cinema. Julius likely wouldn't see the episode for months at least.
This is why Rochelle high key got on my damn nerves. Her character really makes black women look hypocritical AF. She flips out over some fuckin' candy (those Turtles) but the husband, who works night and day to provide and only wants one damn thing, is made to be emasculated. Fuck that.
When I was really little, I used to think both parents were assholes. Now I realize that Rochelle should've been married to Frank Murphy so she could be put through a wall.
Julius was in the right. Rochelle gets mad at them for the smallest things. She’s being a hypocrite. She was easily one of the most unlikable characters in this show but she still had some redeeming factors.
Ikr. Personally I bet they’re like Rochelle if they think or feel that way, especially if they’re female. Like bullheaded or stuck up and all about themselves. And on top of that, they must have that kind of attitude that they’re always right, even when they’re wrong
Julius approach seems more firm and to the point he doesn’t over react when he trying to discipline his kids but Rochelle seem a bit more out of line with her approach
Julius did everything right. Most parents (especially black) would be screaming over this and cussing their kids out but not Julius. He remains in control and gives Tonya clear instructions to follow in the future.
Julius worked his behind off for his family (2 jobs). He didn’t ask for much, but his stories and the big piece of chicken. He never really got mad and he still couldn’t win. Rochelle was the raising Tonya up to be just like her.
What pissed me off about this scene is that Rochelle was bitching at Julius about him getting mad at tonya and yet she bitches about every little thing when it comes to chris. Hypocrisy at it's finest.
I think it makes sense The usually calm one getting mad is a LOT scarier and it is a small thing She's supposed to be the tough shouting disciple parent as that's what's setup Julius sets the rules Rochelle enforces them Taken to extremes for comedy of course
That was a calm scolding despite him saying hes mad he had a low voice and he didnt even told his daughter to look at him most parents would say that when they're scolding their kids
"If you don't know then forget it" most manipulative line ever, not to mention by making him apologise he will completely undermine his punishment which shows the daughter can get away with anything as long as it doesn't effect the mother. Not good parenting.
Tonya needs to learn to respect other people's stuff because that was very selfish of her. By recording over Julius' show she thought the beta Max was only hers and that was unacceptable
Julius: You get mad all the time. Rochelle: Yeah, but everyone's used to it. The hypocrisy! So you can act bitchy and mad over small things, but he can't, Rochelle?🙄
I find it odd people say Julius yelled. Like this is more of a stern talking to and not even in the leagues of my own parents growing up. Tanya should be sorry: Julius works two jobs and that show is probably one of the few ways he can relax and reward himself for all he does. Which is why her sternly told her where she went wrong, she wasn’t even punished for it. Just don’t do it again.
That man has two jobs, got home, got into some fresh after work clothes, made him some popcorn and grabbed a beer for the “Finally Home Male Ritual.” Every right to be a little upset.
It’s a double standard in my book 🤔🤔 a mother like Rochelle basically Disciplines her children’s both male and female in a certain way as a mother should vs how the father like Julius disciplines them as the man of the house. and usually mama is always right .
This is mostly cause when the father punishes the daughter, the mother will try to take her side it the same when the father take the side of the son when the mother punish them
It’s crazy when I watched this when i was a kid I was on Rochelle’s side because I felt bad for Tanya. But now that I’m older I see Julius was right. He works two jobs and never has time for himself and just wanted to watch his show. Yes Tanya is young and make mistakes but he didn’t even get on her ass that bad
Rochelle needs to shut up she be yelling all the time. When Chris makes mistakes she's all over him. It's ok for her to yell but not Julian. This is the 1st time he's ever yelled at bratty Tonya.
This is not the only time Julius got mad with his kids, lol. Remember when Chris almost got Julius shot by cops because of that phony story for his school news paper and Julius wanted to "Stretch Chris's Behind"? Or how about when Chris talked back to his mother and Julius has to put him in his place? Now if there are any more scenes of Julius being mad, let me know, lol. This is probably the only scene in the whole series where he disciplines Tonya, lol. There shouldn't be no argument between Dad and Mom when it comes to their children being obedient. Funny scene, 😂. But real stuff. Rochelle, that's a whole different story altogether, lol. PS: "She's 11. She made a mistake." Chris and Drew who are both older made tones of mistakes and Rochelle bit the roof. Your age don't matter.
Although to Julius's credit, he didn't put Chris in his place over the dishes situation. Julius calmly told Chris what he did was wrong, but also agreed with Chris how non - sensical it was that Chris had to apologize even if he wasn't in the wrong. And also, Julius later on said to Rochelle (in a private talk) that he actually understands Chris's reasonings. Oh, and there was the time when Julius got mad at Drew for wearing a clown face paint and scaring Tanya enough to make her wet the bed lol
Imo this show was chris rocks way of therapy he built comedy into his feelings about his childhood. You can tell chris hated alot of stuff that happened but he respected his father, he loved his mother even tho she was crazy , he loves his siblings even if they were younger jerks lol and you can tell at the end of the day everyone loves each other
He's right. There is simple no defending his behavior he handles the situation wonderfully, he never shouted at his daughter. Told her sternly what to do and what not to do. She's 11, she understands. Who's wrong is his bitch of a wife who is basically abusive 2 everyone.
This scene reminded me of my grandmother. Ain't nobody could call my grandma and expect her to come to the gate during bold and the beautiful, days of our lives and young and restless. She'd send you out there to tell anybody it was she's watching her soaps to come back tomorrow cause they all came on one after the other and she went to bed right afterward.
Everyone hating on rochelle is understandable. But keep in mind. Tanya is the last, and ONLY daughter. Mothers have this unknown, untouchable love when it comes to the baby, especially if it's a girl. Just my experience with my mom, and other families who have two eldest sons and a young daughter. So, Tanya might be in the wrong, but her mother will always come to her defense until she actually sees the wrong she has done.
Only reason Rochelle & Tanya were shocked is cuz Julius NEVER goes off on Tanya. if he does, it’s definitely not as much as this. I’m just upset that it wasn’t over something serious like things she does on purpose such as getting her brothers in trouble. Taping over the show was an accident & not that serious

@@vanessarickford6260 that's Julius first time yelling . And he didn't even really yell at Tanya.
Rochell should be the last person talking about making mistakes because god forbid CHRIS was the one to tape over HER shows and he would get yelled at and called an ungrateful child
Julius didn’t even get that angry. He just seemed disappointed
Ya know that's even worse than getting yelled at
So it’s ok for Rochelle to yell threaten and/or discipline the kids but not Julius. Why?
Aric Wilson She's the matriarch, you never cross the matriarch.
Irreligious Idiot matriarch my ass, who puts bread on the table ?
Huell Babineaux he only does it because she’s in charge lol.
Because women.
I'm actually surprised at how quiet Rochelle was from 0:44 to 0:56!
Dom Mathurin cause she doesn’t agree with Julius but then again she never do
When Chris was 11 he wasn’t being babied like Tanya. He was being force to take care of baby drew and Tanya.
Imagine you working a 40+ hour work week, coming home to watch the one thing you can enjoy and realizing you cant.
If I Am working 40+ hrs a Week,(Busting my ass to Pay the Bills/Put food on the Table), Imma have a Hobby,(Like Julius with his Young an the Restless Stories) if anyone messes with my downtime like when Tonya recorded over his Stories, Be a Bit Steamed(Putting it Lightly), When I Found out I Can't as anyone Senseable would when they would be redder than a Red Hot Poker being Forged in a Fire.
I feel bad for Julius having a wife like Rochelle and Chris having her as a mother also Tanya as a sister.
Imagine if it was Rochelle's show that got taped over instead of Julius? 😳
Me too
I can't even stop laughing at this
She's got her own villians page. Look it up it's true
@@amylee8969she would've lost her mind 😅

"Cartoons!?"
Who recorded cartoons over my young and the restless?!!! 😂😂😂
She deserved it , she always got Chris in trouble , sometimes drew I'm on his side
Drew be on Chris side tbh when you think about it but he just stay out of it
He didn’t even yell AND he talked to her like an adult that she can tape whatever she wants he just asked for one favor that’s it. I always hated that Rochelle reminded me of my mother and if I didn’t show her how it would be if I left I never would talk to her ever again. She changed and now we have a good relationship
Amen to this
Their all based off of his real family and shit that happened while he was growing up
first of all, it's a comedy and meant to be exaggerated. 2nd of all, just how fragile is your masculinity?

Think people also forget this was during the age where reruns weren't really a thing. If you missed something then you missed it for who knows how long. One episode even higlights how long a movie would come out on video if you missed it in Cinema. Julius likely wouldn't see the episode for months at least.
"What are you in for"
"Knocking my kids nostrils off"
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
“Julius you weren’t even yelling at me and I was scared!”
HE DIDN’T EVEN YELL!!! 🤯
This is why Rochelle high key got on my damn nerves. Her character really makes black women look hypocritical AF. She flips out over some fuckin' candy (those Turtles) but the husband, who works night and day to provide and only wants one damn thing, is made to be emasculated. Fuck that.
Not to mention opening his mail
e.g ,his credit card 💳
She really lives up to the stereotypes of black women including the angry black woman, and proves them right.
When he maneuvered his belt to threaten her😂😂

Gabriel Frota didnt even yell at all

Julius: EXACTLY!!!!!!
When I was really little, I used to think both parents were assholes. Now I realize that Rochelle should've been married to Frank Murphy so she could be put through a wall.
At least frank had some type of understanding to him but honestly him and Rochelle belong together
If it was Chris, he’d be the first person to ever time travel.
You call that mad? He was irritated yes, but mad, no. He works his ass off and barely gets any time off. I say he deserves his show
It's funny when Julius got scared when Rochelle slammed the door!!
Yeah because he knew Rochelle was about to give it to him
@@phillyeaglesforlife5127 ooh u sexy
Julius was in the right. Rochelle gets mad at them for the smallest things. She’s being a hypocrite. She was easily one of the most unlikable characters in this show but she still had some redeeming factors.
Rochelle saying he has to apologize after what she does to Chris on the regular is something else.
Lmao that was the lightest "mad" I've ever seen. Anyone intimidated by or who thinks that was too harsh must have grown up pampered af
Ikr. Personally I bet they’re like Rochelle if they think or feel that way, especially if they’re female. Like bullheaded or stuck up and all about themselves. And on top of that, they must have that kind of attitude that they’re always right, even when they’re wrong
i mean Julius had every right to yell at Tonya because he’s the one working two jobs and all he wanted was some chill time!!
Terry Crews is the funniest dude😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Julius worked his behind off for his family (2 jobs). He didn’t ask for much, but his stories and the big piece of chicken. He never really got mad and he still couldn’t win. Rochelle was the raising Tonya up to be just like her.
A Ghetto Snob Lol
I wish my father was more like Julius. He was more firm than angry. A true father 😂
What pissed me off about this scene is that Rochelle was bitching at Julius about him getting mad at tonya and yet she bitches about every little thing when it comes to chris. Hypocrisy at it's finest.
Not to mention making him get up to answer the phone when he had the gout😢😢
“Who recorded cartoon over my young and the restless” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Kinda Hypocrital coming from Rochelle
It's Rochelle, so of course it's hypocritical.
I think it makes sense
The usually calm one getting mad is a LOT scarier and it is a small thing
She's supposed to be the tough shouting disciple parent as that's what's setup
Julius sets the rules Rochelle enforces them
Taken to extremes for comedy of course
Tichina is so damn fine.
“You’re acting like a child.”
What’s that make you then, Rochelle?
more mature than you, that's for sure
A baby.
You don’t get between Julius and his soaps.
Tonya needs to learn to respect other people's stuff because that was very selfish of her. By recording over Julius' show she thought the beta Max was only hers and that was unacceptable
Rochelle acts like a child when someone eats her turtles tho 😂😂
His reaction at the beginning lmao
Where
Cartoons?! Lmao
She gets mad All the time but said everyone is use to it? Is that an excuse? Lol 😂 funny
Julius: You get mad all the time.
Rochelle: Yeah, but everyone's used to it.
The hypocrisy! So you can act bitchy and mad over small things, but he can't, Rochelle?🙄
first time learning how women work?
Why Julius can’t get mad? But Rochelle can?🤨
Cause people are used to Rochelle yelling 😑
Well that doesn’t make any differences. But Julius is allowed to get angry too 😒
I find it odd people say Julius yelled.
I like how Rochelle is wrong basically 99% of the time
That man has two jobs, got home, got into some fresh after work clothes, made him some popcorn and grabbed a beer for the “Finally Home Male Ritual.” Every right to be a little upset.
Didn't Rochelle yelled at Tonya for losing her earrings?
Tanya laws probably expensive earrings oh she accidentally hate over a TV show that will come back as a rerun or something
It’s a double standard in my book 🤔🤔 a mother like Rochelle basically Disciplines her children’s both male and female in a certain way as a mother should vs how the father like Julius disciplines them as the man of the house. and usually mama is always right .
Women, man, you can never be right with them.
This is mostly cause when the father punishes the daughter, the mother will try to take her side it the same when the father take the side of the son when the mother punish them
Who recorded cartoons ova my young and the restless? LMFAO
I find it really hard to feel bad for Tonya
Oh yeah, Drew scaring Tanya. I remember, lol. But yes, that's true.
Imo this show was chris rocks way of therapy he built comedy into his feelings about his childhood. You can tell chris hated alot of stuff that happened but he respected his father, he loved his mother even tho she was crazy , he loves his siblings even if they were younger jerks lol and you can tell at the end of the day everyone loves each other
Julius was mad as hell 😂😂😂😂😂
I mean in Julius defense, he does work all the time to support his family to buy that beta max and just wants to watch his show.
He's right. There is simple no defending his behavior he handles the situation wonderfully, he never shouted at his daughter. Told her sternly what to do and what not to do. She's 11, she understands. Who's wrong is his bitch of a wife who is basically abusive 2 everyone.
and in tanya's defense, she didnt know it would record over julius' show. SHE"S A KID
0:12 This part always gets me 😂😂😂
Everyone hating on rochelle is understandable.
When that red light is on during "Walker," you do not touch it, period!
I feel Julius pain on all levels
To the comment section: From now on when that red light is on that beta max you don't touch it
This is the only episode that Rochelle defends Tanya.
I hate the mom and the dad and the sister. But not chris or drew. They are cool.
Tony yayo wait what but Julius the funniest one the whole show tho 🤣💯
The mother and sister I understand, but Julius? He's the most reasonable person and the funniest.
