It basically is money. The way I think of credit is a method of deferring your expenses until later. You still have to pay them but just not right now. But it is still access to capital.

That's so sweet though. He must have nearly *hit* the limit if it took him 7 years to pay off and he did it for love. Still probably the most expensive thing he ever bought
He probably bought a 15k ring and made $180 payments for those 7 years.
This show looks like it was based in the 70’s. A nice expensive wedding ring in the 70’s were around the $500 price range and took him 7 years to pay off means he was paying between $6 to $10 per month within the means from a minimal wage job…

Definitely possible. Friend of mine told me about how her great-grandfather, a wealthy man who owned some very profitable businesses, had a secret second family. After he retired, he got tired of keeping it a secret so he just stopped hiding it and told his (legal) wife but carried on like normal. Still visited the second family and all. His wife made sure the second family wouldn't get anything if he died and that put them in a legal battle for years after the great grandfather died.
