- The following video was recorded from Sea Quest DSV Episode Bad Water. The crew of the Sea Quest while trying to save a launch with children aboard was struck by lightning through their communication buoy. The crew now has to not only repair the ship, but also running out of time to save the children. We see Chief Crocker starting a very old Navy tradition while repairing the boat.

One of things that hurt Seaquest was Chief Crocker not making it to the 2nd season.
He was awesome
After all the years that have past. That scene has stayed with me. One of the best in the Series.
I loved this scene. It was so cool to see that, even in this high tech age, a good old sea shanty served the purpose of boosting morale.
I miss this show. Roy Scheider was amazing.
This is the moment when we really feel like we’re on the ship itself. Everything is going pear shaped and the only thing you can do to lift your spirits is sing.
I must say.
I love this short clip from DSV.
It connects back to the sailors of old.
To the age of sail.
It may be a time forgotten by many, but to the crew of The DSV Seaquest it is not !
Cringe
i like this scene also when chief crocker lifts their spirits with this song when he gets most of the crew to singing it
This is absolutely my favorite episode of SeaQuest - specifically because it deals with issues more grounded in reality for the crew to deal with. This particular scene is very special because it is the first scene of the series to portray the futuristic SeaQuest and her crew in a classical light, free of futuristic technologies and bound by the same sense of mortality as a colonial-era sailing ship.
I liked the episode Photon Bullet. Hackers, Internex, and Seth Green.
One of my favorite scenes from one of my favorite episodes of seaQuest, thanks for posting it!
Looks like he got a bigger boat. Love this clip.
seaQuest II was the exact same size, 1,007 feet long.
@@dalethelander3781 I believe the bigger boat comment is a reference to his line in Jaws. 😊

😂😂😂😂
SeaQuest DSV was Star Trek TNG, in the ocean.
I rewound this part over and over and over on my VHS recorded copy . God I wish I could go back to the early 90's and relive Seaquest all over agian
And now we're 28 years later, 3 years past the series' time, and we're no closer to Mars, we don't have the kind of technology that made the seaQuest the fantastic boat that it was, nothing. Right now, the world could use a seaQuest DSV.
RIP Royce T. Applegate
How they keep the best verses out to keep it family friendly😁.
Loved that show.
Now THAT is an excellent COB. Well done, sir.
One hell of a COB
@@Deepingmind actually he was the security chief not the COB
RIP, Royce D Applegate.
Sad how he passed. 😢
@@dalethelander3781 Yeah, that was a total shock.
Royce “D” or Royce “T”?
@@keirfarnum6811 D.
Star Trek did this, too, with The Minstrel Boy.
Since no one has uploaded this version of the Drunken Sailor from Sea Quest DSV, I am now posting the first. Enjoy!
Nice clip, brings back a lot of memories... ;) Thx for this! The first seasons are my favorites, the later episodes are too much...whatever. And the first crew was the best! Kindly regards Eye
Just rewatched this episode for 100th time lol love it. This show is on Peacock if anyone is wishing to watch it. One of my favorites
I have season 1 and 2 on DVD, sadly 3 is just lost
interestingly enough, when i was taught this in high school choir class, the last line went "way ho, and up she rises". I've had to learn to sing it differently when singing along with this scene, LOL.
I loved singing this in my elementary music class. The only time I actually sang.
i can help answer this for you, i served in the royal canadian navy, and saw combat. like any sea shanty, drunken sailor was created to serve a purpose. It was created in the late 18th century as a song used to keep tempo when crews were using riggings (roaps, buckles, sails etc) for whle crews to do tasks in time, the shantys would be sung. Drunken sailor was orignally used for this purpose, but in the 19th century, it expanded into a moral boaster. crews would sing when times were tough.
Yo Hollywood can we get a reboot already? You know what on second thought don't bother. You can't improve upon perfection.😄
Yeah look how well when they remade Poltergiest into that garbage fire whatever it was that put out later.
science fiction is too expensive, look what happened to the remake of V. Apparently people like trash reality tv crap instead of scify ...... boring planet
thank you for uploading this! i've been looking for this version for awhile now...love seaquest
As far as I'm concerned, the first season of Seaquest DSV was the only one that actually happened.
season 2 went odd.... cheaper, different writers are lost heart. Less science and more fiction. Season 1 was certainly more grounded and somewhat more realistic. I liked the science commentary at the end credits. Good show from a time long since forgotten
Better than American Idol -- more tallent !
Great moment of a greater series.
I used to watch this on Sunday night
There is an interactive aquarium here in the USA called seaquest. Last time we went, I got a Seaquest DSV ballcap from etsy and wore it. The zoo keepers bought 4 while I was there.
This is one of my favorite clips from seaQuest dsv the TV series .
I hope you like it as much as I do.
Megan
I'm glad you like it ❇❇❇
megan macleod yes of corse .

megan macleod Thank you dear Megan! It's a pleasure that I'm now in your circle! I see you have a cute cat, great, I love cat's and i should better say, I love all animals :-) Hope to hear soon from you dear Megan! Have a beautiful day tomorrow! Best wishes, Uli
This is the happy version. Drunken whaler is the sad version
Tradition is not lost .always remember the past .
They started singing to raise their spirits, they were meant to be the cast of DS9, but got DSV instead.
Priceless.
Best video ever !
Amaba está serie❤
Roy Scheider got his 'bigger boat', I see.
This reminds me of Assassins creed black flag
I think both security chiefs but sure as I loved the series, I was missing this actor and seasoned professional whom he played.
I wonder if they sang this on the Titan.
Star Trek under water
nor quite, star trek was pure sci fi, seaquest uses the technology we have now and extrapolate it maybe 50 or so years ahead
Good clip but I wish you had extended it a little more.
I was going to, but after posting UA-cam put a lock on the video. Someone complained because it was taken from the show.
@@GuardianXPS That sucks royally! It was a good episode especially this part where spirits needed a boost. But thanks anyways.
anyone know the who sang the origional version
Yeah. Sailors in the 17th-18th centuries.
Hahaha cursed
Do you know where I could watch seaquest for free
Nope, I have the DVD series. I wish they would bring it back again.
I am greek and I watch it for free in tainiomania (it means something like you are obsessed with films in english)but it has greek subtitles .you can watch it there if you don't mind the subtitles and maybe you can change them idk...aaaaa and the quality is not that good but it has 2 seasons in there
@@nancy_ptrmn thank you!
@@MFerInAK no problem 👍🏻
I think there's an all-region Blu-ray set available on Amazon.
I love this show. I miss optimistic Sci-fi like SQ and TNG. This nutrek is hot dower preachy condescending depressing vapid self righteous self aggrandizing garbage.
The person that played Lucus. Killed himself in 1999 just so everyone knows.
I prefer the version in Dishonoured.
