Lol, if they didn't put so much effort into staying under the radar and not talking to anyone, no one would bother them anymore. It's not a grand story people would be interested in, outside of people like the historians in the video. And by staying silent and not talking to anyone they're just sending the message that there is something more going on, like their father being a nazi or something.

A bit sickening that they added the smug little mans view that they never had families because there was something rotten in there families blood rather than not wanting to have there children tormented because all these years later they were still being harassed for being distant relation to a mad man that has been presumed dead since 1945.

Yeah I wondered though if part was lost in the translation or tone/intention. Maybe that it was some ironic twist around Hitler's views, and how they themselves didnt want to put any children through the torment because of their "genes". i.e. that both views are different but "bad ideas". But either way it did come off as offputtingly smug.

That last conclusion is spurious and ridiculous. I do NOT think they believed in the idea of "bad blood." They most likely wanted to spare any would-be descendants from the stain of being related to a monster and all the problems that would come with that, such as unwanted attention. Unwanted attention like this very documentary brought.

regarding the band video, for anyone not familiar with American marching bands, there is a single member who is selected/chosen to be the Drum Major. The drum major uses his/her baton ostensibly to conduct the band when necessary. Drum major uniforms are typically white with a big hat. So he was not just a member of the band, but was also popular enough to be elected drum major.

I saw another documentary about Hitler family members in Austria, about 5 years ago. They were generally very open and let the cameras into their homes.
There was incest in their family that’s why they went mad. But knowing this helped them to manage and overcome their personal challenges.

Houston isn't an unusual name at all. It's quite a common in Scotland, both as a placename (just on the edge of Paisley) and as a surname. The name was adopted for a place in Texas, too. So the idea at 37:00 that it's in reference to some particular racist is without evidence. It may be, but that far from established or even numerically likely.

Why did he take on the name of a noted anti-semite, give his son the middle name Adolf, and yet joined the US Navy, toured around denouncing Nazism etc. Very odd. But whatever the truth, it has been taken to the grave, and no real point in harassing his sons.

Yes, this nephew has been referred to a number of times in different documentaries as a user, which Uncle Adolf was well aware of. He gave nephew Patrick a few job leads which Patrick screwed up, I understand.
It’s amazing how ordinary Hitler’s early family life and family of origin were. Nothing about them, no eccentricities, exceptionality, weirdness, genius, etc. could have pointed to Adolf’s uniqueness. Adolf’s father was very abusive towards him and that’s the only outstanding feature of Adolf’s early life, and he was very close to his mother. Perhaps Adolf did have an abundance of creative energy and since he didn’t live the life of an artist, that creativity was channeled into his socio-political passions.

The mainstream narrative that we've all been taught about those years is full of lies and mischaracterization, loaded with false accounts. There were MANY (probably thousands) documented accounts of them prosecuting, imprisoning, and even executing their own soldiers, officers, and party members, for criminal and immoral behavior. Most would be shocked to finally realize the dishonest tales we've been sold. Seriously.

I don’t condone the approach Emmanuel decided to use but maybe, someday, the 3 gentlemen will share what life was like for their father, mother and the each of themselves. However, if they don’t, that will be ok too.

I doubt that Hitler had Jewish ancestry. Possibly a very small bit if any. One of my great grandmothers came from a Jewish background..
But, Hitler's family background would more than likely be slavic like Czech or Slovak..

Adolf H. has been succeeded by two daughters Úrsula and Verónica. Úrsula was born in 1938 in Italy and Verónica was born in Argentina in 1948. Both are still living, Ursula in the US and Verónica in Argentina. His parents A.H. and Eva Braun used the same tactic in Argentina as in Germany, looking for a substitute family to take care of their daughters.
