That huss is a proper unit! 👍 nice one John 🤙 do you ever get any big rays while you're goin fo smoothys n tope etc? I saw a huge ling get caught once from the beach at Danes dyke near Bridlington/Flamborough, was years ago but it stuck in my mind :) it's all rocky, slippery seaweed down there but awesome for wrasse, eels, and it does nice cod now n again. Great video btw and love the title :) wa a monster that bull huss. All the best mate 👍 🤙🍁
i use to fish the straits many many years ago. bloody hard work then, dug our bait, lug and king rag, i bet that beach has had the guts dug out of it now, we seem to spend most of our time feeding the crabs
(Cornwall, many years ago) I always thought that sardines, and pilchards/spats should be a cracker bait. I always tried for the freshest sardines and stuff but I never got more than the bare minimum of results.
Love your videos, but being a local I have fished that mark on the Straits quite a few times and it can be very dangerous. The tide comes in behind you very fast and you are cut off from where you left your car; meanwhile the firm sand behind quickly turns to deep sticky mud. Worst scenario is when you get a decent bite just when you know you should be leaving. By the time you have gathered all your tackle it can be to late; I came close, but I do know others who were not so lucky. Hate to be so negative but a little local knowledge might be worth having.
Cheers buddy really appreciate the info, I’ve fished here about 10 times now and although it nearly caught us out a few times I feel like I know when to leave now, always best to be safe. All the best - John

We've bagged up on sardines (frozen) they are very soft though. Cheap bait but works well.
ive tried using sardine bait but it falls apart as i take them out of the tin..is that why you wrap them with the line?
