anglesea and menai have always been crap in the day . try menai bridge area for cod and codling at night . bull bay off the rocks for skate , dogs and bullhuss . and trearddur bay for mostly woof woofs . the best place i used to love was the old trefor pier . but now been demolished . best place on anglesea used to be wylfa head . dont know what it is like nowadays .

I'd be tempted to throw a couple of sand eel and squid stripes lashed together about 30 yards out. You may find it's big bass ripping through shoals of baitfish.

If you add a small weight to your hooklength,and pop the bait up with a polystyrene ball,it will avoid the crabs.

You can fish into deeperwater at Port Dinorwic off the marina outer wall.(facing where you are)
