    ✈️ Aircraft: Airbus A220-300 - Breeze Airways - N225BZ - Less than 1 year old
🛫🛬 Flight Details: Santa Ana (SNA) - Ogden (OGD) - MX614
    💺 Seat: 2F
    📆 Date: April 13, 2024
My first time flying Breeze out of Santa Ana. This was a fun one! Santa Ana's runway at 5700ft long and noise ordinances mean a quick takeoff. The pilot holds the brakes while ramping up the power, lets go and away we go only to hear the thrust increase even more afterward. My bag can be heard in the background sliding not once but twice with the thrust increases. While this may be a common occurrence at Santa Ana, it felt like a rocket ship with the elevation gained in such a short amount of time. The A220 is an amazing plane and felt it had plenty of thrust to get us going. I think our takeoff was around 20 seconds with a lightly loaded aircraft. We were doing about 120kts on takeoff according to FlightRadar24 with elevation gained of around 1000ft by the end of the runway. Enjoy!

Ride the A220 from SNA. Everyone talks about its efficiency. The plane is an absolute beast. Eye-watering takeoff performance is a result of Bombardier putting oversized wings and huge engines on a small plane. The A220's engines have 73-inch fans almost the size of those on the 757's RB211's! Breeze ordered their A220-300 configured for short-field takeoffs with the PW1524G engines, and 1:58 is the moment when they spool up to deliver all that power and jump after 2800 feet of runway (at 3rd taxiway "Hotel"). Thank you for posting the first A220-300 onboard takeoff video at SNA! (all others were A220-100's)

Love those PW1500s, I am proud to work on them! I’ve yet to fly on a plane with these or the PW1100s though. How did you like it?

Some of my favorite engines - feel like they have more than enough thrust, quiet on the inside of the plane, and on takeoff have a great sound to them! Get on a Breeze A220 so you can experience them yourself!

I wonder what the +fpm was, surely quite high.

According to the Flightradar24 data, we reached 4,480 +fpm during the initial climb 😀
