I just bought one exactly like yours. It has been mostly restored, but it seems to have dim lights in the display and headlight. It starts and rides very nicely. It has a pleasant rumble to it. I admired them in the showroom when they were new. I bought it because you can get collector status and cheap insurance.
That's great. Check your voltages to make sure you're not losing power somewhere. If not, it may just be the bulb(s). Thanks for your comment.

@@dwayneharris3874 Thanks for those links, My just son got given his grandfathers 83 CX650E, black like this one. I have never seen another one here in NZ and an old Honda mechanic said very few were sold here due to overstocking of CX500s. Its not as clean as this on, as it was used for 25 years as daily transport to work, but i was surprised how well it has survived, my 87 Yamaha FZR1000 had corroded alloy, rust and all the paint on the engine had gone. The Honda has survived much better despite leading a harder life.
Maybe there is something in the "Honda build quality" you hear.

You guys in US,Canada?........I really like the CX650E..........never came to the states. Where did you find this bike?
We’re Canadian (near White Rock, BC). Chris found it on Craigslist a number of years ago. I guess we’d be using Facebook Marketplace if we were looking now.
Exactly the same as the one I bought new in 1983. I lived in Ladner (how's that for being your neighbour?) but when I emigrated to Australia I took it with me. I owned it for 32 years and finally sold it to buy a VFR750. But it was a great bike and I sometime wish I still had it alongside my VFR.
