I have so much respect for this man. How much courage it took him to convert from a Protestant minister to Catholicism. He is extremely learned too, and knows the Bible backwards and forwards.

Jesus didn't leave us a book, he left us 12 people. I came into the fullness of the faith 3 years ago. Thank you JC for your Church...no more confusion..I have been to church and prayed more in the past 3 years than the past 30 combined.

I love what he says at 1:28 about Jesus and what he really came on earth to do, more people need to hear that, Scott is my hero!

    Thank God for these men.
They found the truth in the Catholic Church and were enlightened to convert.
Now they aretrue fishermen of men for Christ.
Glory to God in the highest.

    Pause at 8:42. Ephesians 4:23-24
This is what it has taken me almost 50 years as a Catholic to begin to try to do.
Scott Hahn is brilliant and I wish he would slow down. He is on fire and has so many great things to say but they get lost in excess wordiness.
I am going to watch this series one at a time and try and break it down. Great stuff and am studying St Paul.
I did not know Scott started out with Young Life. Young Life also took my daughter from the Catholic Church.

I went to that Fullness of Truth Dallas convention that they mentioned! I shook Scott's hand and got him to sign my copy of "Reasons to Believe." It was a really great two-day convention, and I bought some great set of books from their book shop area.

It's very striking how Dr. Hahn and Marcus Grodi comment on God assuming our human nature (9:50 or so) so that "we can partake of his divine nature." Rest assured I will pursue more of Dr. Hahn's talks online and whatnot, because I've started with "Our Father's Plan" (Bible Study with Jeff Cavins) and he's got a fascinating way of making it crystal clear.
    God bless!

Jesus did NOT say: "take this and eat it, this is a symbol of my body,.. " Drink from this, all of you,for this is a symbol of my blood, NO!
He said: "Take this and eat it, this IS my body,.. .'Drink from this, all of you,for this IS my blood."
he did not correct himself even after some doubted and left, he simply asked the apostles if they too were going to leave. The Apostles stayed because they had faith in Him even though what he said was a shock to many.

We are indeed [to become] gods through participation in the divine sonhood of Christ, but always subordinated under the Lord. It is written in the psalm: "God presides in the great assembly. He judges among the gods."

    2:20 - 3:10
Scott Hahn is such a thug. Both Protestants and "Catholic lite" Catholics need to hear his message and ministry. May God richly bless him and all those laboring for the cause of the Truth (St. Paul).

@nehagatari Play it to the last part of 3:08 - on the word 'divine' (when he opens his mouth) - you have to pause it right.

Isa 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
What righteousness are they talking about.

Ned, I lost custody of her during a very sad divorce. I did not know you had to pay to go to Young Life.

Pause at 3:08 - immediately after he says "divine" - (his mouth will be wide open). That was the look when I just happened to pause it to get a drink. I couldn't stop laughing :) I think Scott would too if he saw it.

Why do we mortals question, what god can and cannot do? Why do we need an explanation to everything? Oh man, God is God, why do we argue about what is believable, and what is not? If Christ says to eat his body and drink his blood or you will perish, why do you find the teaching too hard? Do you want to forfeit Heaven and risk your salvation? You are spiritually killing yourselves because of your disbelief and not believing in the REAL PRESENCE of Christ in the Eucharist.

I wouldn't exactly call Dr. Hahn's enthusiasm emotionalism. One need not be a Stoic to be a a good theologian. It is an outright disadvantage as an evangelist.

  • @RianL04

You understand it to be spiritual because like the many who walked away from him, you cannot believe his words for what they are.
you are taught this out of personal interpretation, which Jesus tells us in the bible is wrong, this is the Reason he Gave us the office of Pope starting with peter, to be a an infallible position to insure His teachings and the Word of God were interpreted correctly, that Jesus passed on a Leader to guide his flock to know and teach the Truth untainted.

Eucharist is nowhere in the bible and is pagan. When Jesus talked about eating his body and drinking his blood, he was speaking spiritually and not literally.

  • @milburncherian5785
    @milburncherian5785 12 років тому

Why are you fooling yourself, the Bible is very literal in John 6, don't twist his words because you find it hard to believe, we got tons of Eucharistic miracles to prove what He said is true, only we don't use it to prove a point, we got full faith in His Power, go to Lanciano, and Siena, in Italy, maybe for you, seeing will be believing, millions have done it , no shame if you love Him Like we all do, to go see for yourself. no religious war this, Charles.
