      I was just about to say the exact same thing. How cruel. But then again, this is supposedly the toughest quiz on British Television ... To be expected?...

    *Spoilers* It's interesting how much the difficulty of the questions varies in the final. The Wikipedia question seemed fiendish whereas the flags question that followed it should have been a relatively gettable 5 pointer. I can say this with confidence because learning all the country flags is something that every serious quizzer does (although apparently not these contestants!); you only need to know that's a Somalia flag and you've almost got the connection. But the Wikipedia editing wars are just not common knowledge nor do they readily spring to the mind of a guesser.

      I believe if they had said "things that are argued about" or "things whose real claim is disputed" would've been accepted. Btw I got it right at the first clue.

    I've read a completely unreasonable amount of PG Wodehouse and I still didn't get that one. The variety and memory required for this show is crazy.

    I would be interested to see evidence of "Qu" as an abbreviation for "question". Its always "Q" or "q". Maybe the fact checker from QI was doing a stint on Only Connect.

      Origin: Early 17th century; earliest use found in Thomas Draxe (d. ?1619), author and Church of England clergyman. Shortened from question (as graphic abbreviation).

      Exactly this. There are fiendish questions, and then there is nonsense. This clue definitely falls into the latter.

    Given that the format was double elimination and neither team had lost before this, I think they should play a rematch. Great series, though.

      @b33p 3 роки тому +1

      You'd have more of a point if the winners lost once previously. Since neither used their chance to lose once, it was a fine match up.

    Those were insect orders, not genera. Yep, it must be the QI fact checker. (And they have 6 legs, not 2, but I think that was just a slip up by Victoria).

    Some of the answers, I donno if they should have counted, seemed a little unfair.
    'it's to do with the flag and the wording on the flag.' you're just describing the clue, and the empty chairs answer all they said was you're talking to someone that's not there, seems like empty chairs was pretty integral to the answer considering one of them was just a reserved seat for an award
