Always remember Chris Jericho saying in the WCW documentary, that had he known how much WWF bought WCW for he'd have bought it himself.... makes you think about how he is thinking at AEW right now
There were a LOT shenanigans happening for the sale of WCW. If I remember correctly, WWF had an exclusive deal, due to some contractual/copyright/some old lawsuits, to buy WCW without getting into any bidding war with any other buyer. Only if WWF chose not to buy, then it would've gone to auction/bidding for others. If that wasn't the case, heck even Eric Bischoff would've bought WCW himself!

@@lovelywaz No that was ECW. Because ECW owed the WWF money. Vince loaned ECW a whole bunch of money on the condition that of the company was ever sold they would be allowed to buy it before it was put out for sale publicly.
a year before mcmahon bought wcw, Jerry Jarrett and some investors offered Turner $20M to buy wcw and Turner said no.

One of the greatest turns and breakups of all time was between the Rockers, Shawn Michaels Marty Jannety. We are STILL talking about and rewatching it today. Great build up between a longtime tag-team that catapulted one of the greatest careers of all time. It was a huge deal because you didn't seeing betrayals all the damned time and it was so damned well executed.
It's sad how bad AEW has become. I wish. Tk would just let William regal book so they can fix this

Did I miss when Regal booked anywhere? Regal is a great trainer and someone with ideas. I don’t think him booking with no experience would do much good.

The Dragon Lee thing was supposed to be a way to write him off the show. The idea was that Rush and Andrade would turn on him for losing and injure him, poorly explaining why you never see him again. His mask fell off accidentally. Dragon Lee was KO'd by Kenny Omega by the 2nd v-trigger and then Kenny dangerously hoisted him up for a One-winged Angel. You can tell not only by Dragon Lee's complete sandbagging, but by the fact that his arm dangles down as the One-winged Angel is executed. This could very easily have broken his arm, and every professional would know that. He was KO'd. Kenny did the same thing to EVIL in NJPW and nobody talks about that, either. The match ran long but they still needed to write Dragon Lee off so they took this poor guy and DDT'd him, further increasing the CTE, and accidentally ripping his mask off.
I didn’t see the incident with Dragon Lee but your description of it instantly reminded me of the EVIL match as well. I think since it was buried in the middle of that years G1 and it’s been a good 6 or so years it’s slipped a lot of peoples minds.

Being an AEW fan is increasingly becoming like being a TNA fan back in the naughties. (Naught is another word for zero in the UK,) and Onezies.
FUSTRATING AF! They have a roster stacked full of tallent, the collective knowledge and experience, the financial backing and hungry young tallent to make it work, but they are failing to make new stars in favour of pushing the aging ex wwe guys, not having any kind of consistency and constantly changing direction.
From the very beginning, I compared their fans to TNA's fanbase from back then. They both have habits of defending every single bad story line and angle that came across their show. And the only reason why they chose to defend them in the first place was because the names Khan and Dixie don't rhyme with McMahon. I've also seen both fanbases defend their boss's treatments of Jeff Hardy as well, so that should tell you something.

God I miss TNA. They had the greatest and most diverse tag team division I've ever seen and they actually knew what to do with them

I don't know if the person who drew the cover art of the backstage fight (one of the Bucks had a chair wrapped around his face) is the same person who did this but both are very good. The drawings themselves are awesome but the fact they know to over exaggerate people's features and mannerisms this way is A+. Absolute home run
Tony's booking is worse than Russo's in WCW 2000 but AEW fanboys and the dirt sheets will never admit to it because they can't admit to being wrong and dirt sheets are on the payroll.

I genuinely don’t understand how this is possible. The Big Show is on payroll, he would’ve advised-well as if anybody with decision making power would take it. Still, this guy paved the way for big men in wrestling being allergic to the word “no.” Yet, Tony took Show’s career as his guide on how to have storyline continuity.
