- The masterful (and faithful) re-telling of Jules Verne's classic "Around the World in 80 Days", which aired as a mini-series on television in 1989, starring Pierce Brosnan, Eric Idle, Peter Ustinov, and Julia Nickson.
STORYLINE:
"Phileas Fogg accepts a wager to prove his contention that a man can go around the world in 80 days. After betting his entire fortune, he takes his new butler (a man hoping for a quiet life) on a tour of the world. However, just before the time he leaves, the Bank of England is robbed and a Detective believes that Fogg is the guilty party and he sets out after him. Among the many adventures and mishaps that threaten the race, it includes the rescue of a beautiful Indian princess who just may win the heart of Mr. Fogg."
🥰🥰🥰 THE BEST Adaptation !
The accumulation of talent in this is the opening credits has me already hooked ... a classic thrilling story that remains strong every time it is aired, thanks for the upload
My favourite version of "Around the world in 80 days". The feeling of thrill and adventure this version captures is perfection. Everything from costuming to landscapes works. To me, this is a timeless piece. Even as an 80s production it feels fresh and like some of the commenters have pointed out, this version is one of the most loyal to the novel.
My favorite version! Great !!!
Yes this was the greatest version ever made. No other film and TV adaption of this story could ever beat this one. This one came out the greatest.
@@RingoandCarlin I agree to 200%. This is the best movie, not only compared to other adaptations. According to Google users, this mini-series exceeds by many likes many movies and series from the past and present, and from all nationalities.
They will now be shooting a new version of Around the World in 80 Days, an 8-part serial that is sure to not catch up with Brosnan. But the new version may be better than the film of 1956, and more meaningful than the great nonsense of 2004.
Thank you very much for posting this whole movie.
My wife just finished the book by Jules Verne and really wanted to see the movie. The David Niven one was not on YT and it is very funny, but this version with Pierce Brosman follows the book more.
Thank you again. :)
Absolutely 💯 excellent
Thank you so much for this upload!
Wow! Wish I could find this on DVD.
have you looked?
You can.
@@myivorytower got info?

10/27/2024. What? They made 3 versions of the same movie!!! Shoot this version I will try to buy the DVD.
Love the theme song ! The latest 2022 vversion is dark !
what song ?!
pierce brosnan plays phileas fogg very well, the late robert moriey was in
the original 1956 film version as one of the mens club members
One of the things I love about this version!
Brosnan is great in the role of Fogg, as if it was created just for him.
Congratulations to the screenwriters for changing a few bad scenes from the book. The first is Fogg's servant, a 15-year-old boy, a child whom he fires without even giving him compensation. A very unworthy scene in my opinion. Here it is shown far more fairly, in spite of Mr. Fogg's coldness.
This cartoon is on our book of literature thought by our English teacher name Keith mark silas who teaches us grammar also and I like this cartoon
Are you high right now?
I looked at the new version from 2021 and I can define it in one word: horror. I do not understand how they invented such madness! The Jackie Chan movie, as pointless as it was, was at least more enjoyable than this new great nonsense. Another joke with the beautiful work of Jules Verne. I don't want to talk about the new Fogg there, I'll just say that he had nothing to do with the classic image, and he can't step on Brosnan's little finger. This proves once again that the 1989 version is and remains the best in every respect and has no competition.
Sub indonesia please.
Anyone got full torrent?
Anyone else getting error messages from this video like 2 minutes into it?
No
JPLOWMAN2 Yes! And not going any further at any point of time
I like this version a lot. But the added bits with celebrated figures are contrived and boring, while the best parts are those that follow the book closely. It's a great shame the sleigh part was left out.
While the sleigh scene would have been fun, it doesn't really add to the story. And NOTHING about this version seems :contrived". U show this in my Anthropology courses.
Are you there, D?
Audio quits towards the end of the opening credis.
My version did great!
@fgt78 why does she hate it? I love it
Does anyone know where you can buy the DVD ?
Did you try eBay and Amazon?
@@lordyoehann1817 Yes, I've looked at Amazon, but there's a lot of bad reviews as to non English videos, poor quality and missing scenes. There are also good reviews, so it seems like it's a bit of a lottery.
