- I WASN'T LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS CLUB REVIEW... HOW WRONG I WAS!! Titleist have just released their brand new 620 Range of irons including the new 620Cb, 620Mb, T100, T200 and T300... we also have the brand new Titleist ts2 hybrid and ts3 hybrid alongside the new Titleist u500 and u510, this review is the driving irons and I wasn't looking forward to particularly the u510 review because of the looks of the club. but in honesty could the titleist u510 driving iron be the perfect club for people who don't like hybrids or 5-woods? who should use a hybrid? should you use a hybrid? should you buy a driving iron? what about a 5-wood vs hybrid? lets do it... and lets do it now!
Sure I'd use them . . . in about 5 years when the price is about half.
I bought 510. It is absolutely an amazing club. I don’t notice the back edge outside. High Launch. I hit some balls that had no business landing where they did.
I can also flight it down if I need to.
THANK YOU! for giving me the space to hate hybrids! I love irons and hate hybrids! I hit my 3 iron 845 silver scott with G. loomis shaft only about 220 yards on my best hit but I will tell you that I hit greens with it, pin high and my 4 iron performs even better. I want to update to get more accuracy from the rest of the set because I think I can hit better than I am. Im looking at several clubs, jpx, or Srixon, or AP2 or 3. So far I like the way they feel much better but Im not seeing much advantage so far.
Don't know how you ever choose which 14 clubs go in your bag, as you seem to love them all.
If you want to look at another driving iron, I would suggest BombTech from the USA. They sell a pair of driving irons (a 2 and 3 iron) for $147 US. For the pair, not each club. You may have heard of their driver called the 'Grenade'. A number of other UA-camrs have reviewed various BT clubs.
I‘m new to golf and therefore a high handicapper (34). I‘m struggling with woods from the tee so I looked for a 3 iron as my longest Rogue iron is a 5. I bought the U510 (20 deg.) without testing it. I immediately loved it, I hit it from small tees to roughly 200 yards and the consistency is amazing, nothing compared to woods, if I do a misshit it lands after 120 yards but it‘s still on the fairway. The only negative thing is the sound.
Bought the 510 in a 2iron yesterday after a few hits in a store, it felt nice. Hit 4 nice straight shots today all around 230 yards.
My hybrid ain't coming back me thinks

I’ve had a Bridgestone air muscle for years.. it goes in the bag from time to time depending on the course. Nice vid!
I bag a PXG 1 Iron and TMB 2 Iron. Wish the TMB was still around. The black on that club made it beautiful.
Be good if you can show some chipping drills and putting drills so help improve. Nice to see shiny clubs in all but tips are better
Test the 1 and 2 iron 510 please, I’ve not had a fairway wood in my bag for 2 years but it really impacts how I play long par 4s and par 5s. I never really hit 3 woods off the deck well but pick up irons well. Just not sure whether the 1 iron is a worthy replacement for a fairway wood
Tried the U500 and 510 today in 3 iron and didn’t like the look of the U510 but performance wise it was unbelievable. Well struck shots from the deck went the same as my UDI 2 iron but comes in higher with a steeper descent angle and so much easier to hit.... wanted a 2 iron but now I am afraid that the U510 2 iron comes too close to my 3 wood 😳

I've had the Ping Rapture driving iron in my bag for several years now. I'm part of your group that simply cannot get on with hybrids - I can hit a 3-iron off the deck (not EVERY time solid, but still...). But I just can't figure out those knobbly heads for some reason.
Hadn't been thinking about the U510, but may now, given your reaction to it, as I see similar tendencies in my preferences and results to what you express & observe in your reviews.
Thanks for the review James. I went to try a GAPR mid and was given this U510 to try in a 3 iron. It was so good I’m going for a fitting for a 2 iron tomorrow 👍
I'm gunna be getting the u500 in the 2 & 3 iron. I can hit my 3 iron from my set (I play muscle backs, jpx 900 tour irons). I got my three iron actually pretty good, but if could get just a touch more forgiveness I'll take it for the longer irons. I hit irons way better then hybrids, and fairway woods. So the u500 are going to be my replacements for those. I already have a 2 iron in the bag (titleist 716 t-mb). But it's time to upgrade
My two hybrids are the two clubs that I’m really confident with. So I’ll stick with those.

I'm going to be getting my hands on these as soon as I can.. a friend of mine has had a go and told me to try out the u510 1 iron/ 2 iron to replace my hybrid that's 17° as I dont carry a wood in my bag an carry 4 wedges I prefer the look of an iron an my tmb 3 iron does wonders off the tee at 230 plus I cant wait to see what a 1 iron can do may even make my way in to the bag with a new set of 620mbs

Interested in the U510 as I struggle with fairway woods and I can't seem to hit the 3 hybrid any further than the 4 hybrid. I desperately need to find a club I can consistently carry 210 yards off the fairway. Although to be honest I really ought to just spend some time and learn to hit the 5 wood properly.
there is a video on TXG's channel where they fit an LPGA player. her 3 and 4 hybrid also went the same distance. they gave here a 5 wood to try and voila! problem solved.

The U510 has an interesting sound. But interests me as when I was arguing with 5 wood i went back to 3 iron. Straighter but unforgiving.

Lol, the U510 ain't winning any beauty pageants, but performance seems to be awesome. Not looking for any such club right now myself, but good to know that Titleist has some solid options there.
If I had the money I'd get a driving iron in a heartbeat. In all honesty though, I was so hoping to watch him hit the 1 iron 😂

Not sure about this type of club, never tried one, using two hybrids now instead of a 4 iron and a 3 iron.

Don't think I've seen you strike you strike a club better and more consistently than the 510, those numbers and flight were great. I know it's a tad chunky but, in the bag? lol
Just between us chickens, at 5 minutes into the review, you refer to the club as a Ping. Don't tell anyone else, as they probably won't notice unless some prat points it out...

back swing lookalike you rotate to much keep your arm going straight back without forearm rotation will get you more consistent ball striking
i just don't like how thick the top line is, so ugly

I just got a Srixon u65 22° to fill the gap in my 5-pw set and I love it for all the reasons you mentioned, and It’s much like the 510. Much more accurate than my 3 hybrid, but not so good in the rough. But maybe that’s just me.
