Dude, you're amazing! I've been struggling with fusion because the image that I wanted to layer over my background video was only showing up behind my background, and I couldn't figure it out. This totally circumvented the entire issue, and I finished tracking in minutes! Absolutely fantastic!
I follow everything but when i play the vid in edit tab the images in first two frames are locked on the tracker + that i made, but after that, the image moved quarter of an inch away from the tracker + please help me to solve it
Dude this is amazing. Thank you so much. I learned alot from this video since I’m also trying to make a yt career and to everyone reading this. I hope your yt career blows up and I wish u all succes 😁
hey im having some trouble. i dont find the stabilizer anywhere altough i saw how you did it and so i tried to see if its automatic thinking it might have been updated. but now its says "please select a power window and enable interactive tracking mode first"
If it helps any, there's a camera icon in-between the fx, and tracker window icon, when you click on it, you can work on the next steps, the items are there but shifted around a bit since the last update.
Great video! But I tend to learn best when I understand the WHY behind the WHAT. For example, why do I have to make it a compound clip? If I understood the why then I will remember to do it. Anyone else learns the same way?
I LOVE Davinci but sometimes it just pisses me off how complicated things can be! How would you even start to figure out all the options you had to chose, hidden in all kind of menus and dropdowns?
If anyone is having problems with Pasting Track Data looking longer than Copied Track Data - this is how I fixed it. My timeline FPS was 24, but I had a Video track of 30FPS and a compound clip of 24FPS. Your clips need to be the same as the timeline. Change the Clip attributes in your media pool so they match your project timeline FPS. Later.
@@JorisHermans Oh yea, i didnt even think of the Mandalorian, now it rings a bell lol, yes, its so much like predator, just need the red radiation vision lol
Hi Joris... thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge... please what are you using to achieve those wonderful yellow looking Text in your videos...they look so cool and catchy...
When I paste the track data for the compound clip, why doesn't it look the same as my track data from the original clip? I can't figure this out so the image doesn't move correctly
Had this problem. See my msg above - basically, your timeline FPS and your clips are probably different. I made sure my clips fps(in media pool) were the same FPS as the timeline fps, in your project settings.
Joris, for some reason, my clip speed of my hand tracker is slower than the speed of my helmet tracker after i copy and paste the track data. Why is that?
I LOVE your videos! Helpful and funny. Two questions: when I paste track data, it is flat. What am I doing wrong? Also, could you make a tutorial on object masking and tracking still images / jpg? Even after I converted an image into a video, image masking only works for one frame. Thanks and keep making great tutorials 👍
when i copy the track data then paste it. it’s different. yes i did the -100 and zoom things and it’s on classic stabilizer. it just won’t paste the same thing

Does this also work in the free version? I have the smallest screen and I can't read the text on the settings, that's why I haven't tried it yet. Does anyone know if this could be done in the free version?
how do you make it so it zooms on a object then follows it around, like when in some videos it zooms in on the cursor then follows it around the screen
@@JorisHermans yep made sure that it was point tracker, then my mouse turned in to a "fountain pen" and nothing would happen even if I clicked somewhere
@@JorisHermans I did - I followed exactly the steps. Anyway, I decided not to run the effect, I couldn't get it to work. Thought - does it only work on the paid version?
Great video but this feature seems so complicated and un-intuitive. Why so many steps just to do this simple thing? Also I don't understand the "why" for all the settings. Why you have to use stabilize and classic? Why does it have to be a compound clip? Why do you have to unblock "zoom". Just so many details that a new Davinci user like myself doesn't understand. But at least i can save this video and do it now!
The first time i did this i did it wrong and was so angry but then the second time i relized that i was doing it wrong and when i relized what i did wrong i wondered if i was blind, deaf or an idiot
Why is this such a complicated process, it's so easy to track and add blur or other effects to an object, why not just another clip? Seems like it should be easier
that helped so much better than a other version of tracking I tried - thank you very much!
You're my hero, I've been trying to figure this out for hours.
OMG the ONLY video that worked. I Tried everything else and this was the exact thing i was looking for. THANK YOU JORIS

Best video on motion tracking so far.

Joris, for some reason, my clip speed of my hand tracker is slower than the speed of my helmet tracker after i copy and paste the track data. Why is that?
That's weird. Did you resize the the helmet after copy pasting?
@@JorisHermans i only resized the helmet in the edit category. Haven't touched it in the color section.
Yeah, I think that's the problem. You should set it to the correct size first before you start tracking.
@@JorisHermans what do you mean by correct size? The initial size after dragging it from the media?
No, just the size that you want it.
great tut
Interesting. I feel Fusion is easier to use and keeps the timeline cleaner. Everything stays in one comp.
danke!
Is this possible to track short video animations? not just pictures
Yup, should be possible 💯
Can you make a video on how to do it manually because when you have low res video it's hard for software to stay on track

35mm
I tried to track a video on top on another and it simply doesn't copy the track data correctly and goes haywire.
Hey plz could u tell how to do in fusion page plz !!!
My image starts shaking around but it follows the tracker
2:21 how to i do that part, how do i cut the clip like you did in this part of the video, i can't do that

Yep, I think Hitfilm has motion tracking too.
