It does seem very lighthearted in the beginning...and for about the first dozen-ish episodes or so. Then it becomes a relentless heartbreak lmao strap in!
The subtitles were a little weird. Lan Zhan was asking if it was Wei Ying, not knowing that it was Wei Ying. They just translated "Is it you?" to "It's you."
I just randomly came across you and I’ve subscribed to follow your journey through my all time favorite story ever. I can’t wait. And no worries, the first episode is always like this for everyone I’ve seen watch it.
Lan Wangji is not sure that it's him yet! Yes, in this version, Mo Xuanyu sacrifices himself to bring Wei Wuxian back in his original body. Very complicated indeed. They can hover/ascend/levitate without their swords in this version! They cannot fly long distances without them, though. Also, from what I've seen, the censorship for dramas is a bit more strict than for animation, so you'll see some changes were made for that reason. Who is your favorite character? Personally, this show changed my life in significant ways. I treasure it. Like the other comment said, it gets better, so I hope you'll stick with it!!
Thank you for the explanation! I am planning on sticking with it. So far in this my favorite is Wei Wuxian since he's the only one we've gotten much development on so far, but my favorite from Grandmaster is the Ghost General.
The Mo dad is dead. he was one of the ones who died. Lan Zhan doesn't know it is him, but he detected traces of the Yin Hu Fu on the "sword spirit" they captured (another difference) and connected it to Wei Ying.
💖 It took me a while to get into the story its not like anything I've ever seen. But the story, acting, music are wonderul.💖It gets really deep, dark and its incredibly emotional while taking on some really important themes. MDSZ animation is really good and I love the music but I greatly prefer seeing real people interact. This version left me speakless. The actors chemistry is so beautiful and real. It has become my favorite fantasy. I hope you enjoy the journey.💖
The story is very similar between the two versions, there are a few story telling differences and the focus shift is a little different, a lot of the choices are made due to censorship issues in China, not only over the whole BL ban thing but also around desecration of corpses and such. that is why they kinda gloss over the whole zombie thing and make it questionable that the puppets are actually dead or not. There is also a slight shift in some of the things that WWX is responsible for in creating so it makes him more of a victim of circumstances opposed to the morally gray area that some of his methods indicate in Grandmaster. This one focuses more on the relationships between all the characters, where Grandmaster has more about the undead side of things. I like both versions, they stand well as their own thing almost telling slightly different views of the same story. All the main elements are there though with some expanded upon for maximum punch to the gut.
"Awfully played", they repeat this sentence at the 2nd episode too. That's because the audience hears the flute like Wen Ning or Lan Zhan does, like from their POV, while the others are hearing sth awful.
Apparently people who play the dizi have said that WWX's flute playing is in fact not that great in those scenes. I'm only just now learning how to play so I can't confirm that lol, but I did hear some cracks when he goes higher
Exactly what I was thinking! My first c-drama was Word of Honor. I usually knit while watching TV, tried it with that, instantly regretted everything lmao
I absolutely loved your reaction to this lmao. I was introduced to the live action first, then the novel and THEN the donghua, so its fun seeing someone that watched the donghua but never read the novel. Ever since I read the novel I now get annoyed at the live action for not making them ONLY fly on swords (they can do both in the live action).

That makes much more sense, thank you!
@@kit.cat.corneryeah, the Chinese is more like “could it REALLY be you?”

They didn't have the budget for a lot of sword-flying, lol

When I was a kid , me and my friends used to make whistle sounds with leaves.
Can anyone relate to this. Maybe Indians can if they did.
The Untamed wonderful, have seen Grandmaster of Demonic cultivation and read the novel for me live version is the best ❤ enjoy

Yessss... Done subscribe here
This was my first series! Still love them! Enjoy!,
I love this show so much ❤
Are you knitting and watching a C-drama with subtitles at the same time? I'm super impressed 😅 waiting for the next episode

The 4 cuts are listed in the book and manhua ... the 3 from Mo family and 1 servant.
I'm glad that you're watching this and trying to know. Hope you'll like it.
Are you watching the 50 eps version or the shortened 23?
The full 50
❤❤❤❤❤

Flying on swords is expensive 😫
