So, there is one tip I forgot to add in the video, and that is to let someone who is not with you know which trail(s) you will be hiking and approximately when you will be done for the day. This is a tip we use for SCUBA diving as well. Once you are done hiking, let the person know you are done. This is a precaution in case something does happen. If that person does not hear from you by a specified time or within an allotted time frame, they can notify emergency services, in case something has happened to you.
