    I was super lucky to have a really great coach from the getgo. He wasn’t excited for a girl at first, but I managed to change his mind in 1 month, and now he wants more girls, which is awesome!!!

    Can’t believe your wrestling was met with such negative reactions early on! I coach at Oak Park River Forest (no.1 high school team in the country 2015) and we are working hard to ATTRACT girl wrestlers. Hopefully years from now we’ll have a solid girl wrestling squad.

      It's definitely gotten better since she was in highschool but i think its a bit opposite andsome girls now are the ones who don't want to wrestle instead of people not wanting them to wrestle. I'm a girl wrestler and if i lived near Oak Park River Forest I'd for sure want to go there

    I am a girl wrestler and I have not wrestled very many boys that won’t wrestle me. I just won youth female athlete of the year. People that don’t believe in girl wrestling well start to believe in it. Girl wrestling has grown. GIRL WRESTLERS ROCK

      Guys can't wrestle girls, we will always either not be thinking about it as a fight, or trying not to harm her or seem be too rough. Basically it's because fighting a girl means you've already lost.

      Fighting a woman against a man is a complete idiot. It's a shame that you have to prove something to yourself, it shows a low sense of value. There is no doubt that women can do something. Nowadays, the fight between the sexes is being promoted, which is very sad. A woman needs a man and a man needs a woman. Unfortunately, the left-wingers are arguing with us and now there are results.

    Damn...I wish this sounded stupid right now and was something people used to say, but there's still SOOO much nonsense out there.
    But for all the sites dedicated to shitting on Women's Wrestling...all you needed to see were the fans at the D1s this past year. The ACTUAL fans of the sport know that just selfishly its a great thing for Men's Wrestling, but...also...why the fuck not?
    Why shouldn't they be able to Wrestle? I DO get Boys feeling bad when they lose...but frankly...I don't care as much about that as I do seeing the sport grow.

    This kind of video is so one sided. The opposing coaches and wrestlers are painted as all bigots for not wanting to compete against her. The answer is separate women's and men's wrestling teams, not forcing sexes to mix on the mat if they wouldn't prefer to. Boys have something to lose and little to gain by publicly losing to a girl in combat sports , and even much to lose in just admitting this fact. And that is to great extant due to the gaze of the girls and women in the stands watching them wrestle- not only fellow males.

    Stop saying you have it tough. The first wrestler that I knew was a girl was in 1979. Now she had it tough. I remember the the things the parents would tell at her. She never let it bother her because she was a wrestler not a girl wrestler.

      @lonelywarrior7689 3 роки тому

      It's a male dominated sport, girls are regularly looked over, underestimated and not taken seriously. I competed both nationally and internationally, freestyle and greco-roman, against boy and girls.
      Me and my brothers were very succesful, we all won many gold medals but boys in gerneral get more and bigger trophies for the same performance. Within my club there was a competition by attending practice regularly you would get points, who had the most points at the end of the year won a trophy. I made more pints than my brother and recieved a smaller trophy.
      I fought against a boy, we were pretty even, but in the end I was victorious. He then refused to to shake my hand, the hand of the ref and the hand of my coach. He wasn't disqualified for being disrespectful.
      When the coach prepared us for the national championship he promised everyone who brought home gold a shirt with our name. He wasn't even there when me and the other girls went to the national championships. Me and a teammate brought home gold. The coach didn't fullfill his promise to us, only after we reminded him several times. The boys on the other hand brought home one gold, he got the shirt the next practice.
      So don't you dare saying this isn't tough on a child. I never expected or wanted special treatment. I just wanted to be treated like the boys. I just wanted to get the respect I deserved.
