love the pets with the open mouth purr - my favorite! great opening. congrats on getting back into classes at university. thanks for making homemade raw food for your kitties - i wish mine had taken to it - i tried so hard, but alas, not going to happen. but, totally think this is the ideal diet - well done.
Thank you! Ahh yes, open mounth purr is our favourite too! We read your blog posts about raw feeding too, so thank you for that! :) we were very lucky that our breeders have weaned them onto raw food. We just had to get them used to eating chunks. Bluebell won't eat bone pieces however, lazy kitty :)
@@PixieandBluebell yes, (hopefully) years from now when i adopt kittens again, i will look for a breeder that is already feeding raw...to make my life easier!
Hi! Thank you! ❤ Each container has around 500-600g of food. Kittens should eat 3-4 times a day and as much as they want, to support their growth. With adult cats, they should eat between 3 and 6% of their weight, depending on activity level. We learnt to 'eye ball' the size of their meals (they tend to eat more at the evening and not much in the mornings). Cats on raw diet can self regulate very well. so we're not running a risk of overfeeding them really :) A box like this lasts for about 2 days :)
How much do you feed each per day? 11 containers on your counter = apps week and a half if it was fed 1 per day (opposed to 2 weeks or just over 2 weeks as you stated. Also, do you feed once or twice a day? In addition, if they don’t eat what’s placed in bowl do you 1: pick it up immediately & 2: save it for the next meal? Thanks so much for taking the time with the video, and please forgive the questions, I’m a newbie!
We'll be trying out new recipes for our cats soon too, so we'll definitely share that soon :) We are also planning on doing a Q&A on raw feeding, so keep an eye out on here and our instagram ❤

Am I working this out wrong? Thanks

Hi can I do this recipe and cook it if I don't want to feed raw . My kitty is 7 months old now I have been giving him homemade ground beef or Turkey cooked and bought Know Better premix powder with all the vitamin and ingredients that is needed. He loves it. But i would really love to do your recipe but I prefer to cook it. Would definitely love to know. Thank you for your videos

It looks good, I would add a little more bone meal, around 0.28lb, especially for a kitten :) We also don't add extra water, but I guess that is personal preference

Hi guys, I love your videos and they really helped me with my new little Ragdoll! I used this recipe for her and have made a couple of batches but she has recently stopped being excited by it so I decided to mix it up and try some recipes using the calculator on the CRAP group. Whilst playing around with the calculator I thought I'd put this recipe in but it doesn't seem to add up correctly. Am I doing something wrong? I put 1kg chicken hearts, 2.1kg pork shoulder, 350g chicken liver and 49g bonemeal but the calculations are all off so I'm confused! Help a newbie on the raw calculator, thanks :)
Hey! Yes, the calculator works a bit differently with bone meal. If you put in all the meat and organ and get the numbers correct, then you can look up bone meal amount in teaspoons in the table. 1 teaspoon of bone meal is 2.8g :)
Please can you tell us... how to defrost. How long can you keep it in the freezer and then in the fridge for? Is this a complete food recipe? Is this the only food you give your cats? How many times a day and how much of it per meal?
We'll so a raw feeding Q&A soon, so look out for that :) Generally yes, you can defrost and then refreeze meat that you feed to animals (dogs, cats). We know that some people prepare food for a month in advance, so I'm sure that you can keep it in the freezer for that long, just depends on your space. This is complete food recipe. You need to make sure that the meat you are using has a good level of taurine. Here, we are using chicken hearts that have a high level of taurine (other example would be chicken thigh meat). We feed the homemade raw and we do give them Cosma snackies as a treat, as well sometimes little dried fish. From time to time they get a little can of 'Fish 4 cats', as like a very special treat :) But this raw mix is their main food. We feed three times a day and we learned to 'eye ball' the size of their meals, as a general rule, it should be between 3 and 6% of adult cat's weight (depending on their activity level). Kittens should eat as much as they want! :) I hope this helps ❤
Hi what's the ratio in this recipe? Is it 80/10/10 or 75/15/10 - I've read that kittens need a bit more bone, and was wondering if I can feed my 16 week old kitten this recipe?
Hi guys .... I’ve watched your videos since before we got our two ragdoll cats and would like to ask you a question with regards to the ‘Natures Menu’ bags that you buy. I haven’t seen any that say they are specifically for cats so I’m wondering are they just for any pets? Loving your videos by the way.
Nature's menu that we buy is just ingredients with no additives, so it doesn't matter. They do have some items specifically for dogs, which may either be large bones or contain some veggies as well :)
I've just made this recipe and it went down a treat with Sassi my 4 month ragdoll and Elsa my 7 year old Turkish Angora .. Is the bonemeal content high enough for Sassi or should I make an adjustment for her as she's just a kitten atm also sorry to be asking all these questions, should I leave raw out for Sassi all the time or stick to feeding times, just that sometimes she scoffs it all down, then next feed, just eats a chunk or 2 then seems full .. Thanks ❤❤
Kittens can eat a little more bone, up to 15%, but it might be tricky, depending if your cats share bowls. And for kittens - they should eat as much as they want! 🥰 so try to have food available most of the time, but it is totally normal for them to sometimes eat less (or more). With raw food, cats can regulate themselves very well, as it doesn't have any additives that would entice them, so they will eat when they are actually hungry. Bluebell adapted a very weird lifestyle recently, eating 3 meals between 4 and 10PM for example... 🧐 Did Elsa take to it straight away!? 💗 sometimes it takes longer for older cats, so very happy for you!
I will be getting a kitten soon. And I’m just a little confused about portion sizes. I’m not sure how much to feed the kitten? Can I feed my kitten this exact recipe? Like how much of this should I feed my kitten? What portion size? How many grams? And is there another meat I can use instead of the pork shoulders? Thank you!
Our cats eat only raw, they get fed three times a day. With kittens under 1 year old, they should eat as much as they want! We will be making a video answering all questions relating to raw feeding soon, so definitely keep an eye out 💗
Can this be the same meal for life? Im getting a kitten soon who has always been fed dry food. But i slowly want to transition into raw. Would you just leave food out for them in the container all day? How much does it have to be? How long before the food goes "off" out of the freezer?
Are there any recipes for cooked ones? My area has no trusted meat producers, so I was thinking of making homemade wet cat food with chicken breast, heart ,liver and powdered eggshells
I'm sure you can prepare wet food yourself, but we haven't done it, so I'm not able to advise I'm afraid! Hope you'll find some sources online to help 💕
Is it safe to feed your cat raw egg whites? iv read that its not good for cats. " raw egg whites contain the protein avidin, which blocks the absorption of vitamin B in cats."
Very good question! Avidin (biotin in egg whites) binds B7, making in ineffective, however egg yolk is packed with B7 to the point that the amount of avidin in the whites won't be able to 'block' ALL the B7 even in just the egg yolk, so feeding whole egg won't cause deficiencies. A cat would have to eat a lot of just egg whites over a period of time for it to cause deficiencies. By all means, you can give your cat just egg yolks if you are worried! :)
Hey ! Love your videos. I was wondering, in other videos about raw meat cat diet most people uses a lot of different vitamine complexes. I see you using just bone meal powder, Is it enough ? I am asking because i just got my 14 weeks kitten and she doesnt really eat wet food the lady fed them which is feringa but she loves raw meat. I want her to eat just raw. Any advice what to do ?
Hey! The most important thing is the correct ratio (80% meat, 10% organ, 10% bone) and high taurine content (found in high concentration in meats like chicken heart, thigh, pork loin). We add sardines for the Omega-3, which some people supplement. If your ratios are correct, you shouldn't need to supplement 💗
It's purring! Cats make this sound when they are content, happy with their surroundings or to comfort themselves. It basically means that your kitty is happy 💕 but cats can also purr in stressful situations, to calm themselves down :)

Hi guys! Your cats are so gorgeous, thank you for sharing all your cat wisdom :) Where do you get your frozen poultry hearts and chicken livers? I’m getting my kitty soon, I’m thinking of trying her on a raw food diet and your video has made that seem quite easy! Thanks :)
Thank you! Yess, it is honestly not difficult at all, and as long as you follow the correct ratio you can totally make your own. We get chicken hearts from a local animal feeds shop. Some pet shops stock them as well or you can also order online. If you are based in the UK, the brand we use is called Nature's Menu. You can get liver from them too or find it in some supermarkets. Morrisons stocks all different kinds of liver and it's very inexpensive. You can also find it in butcher's shops :)
Thank you so much! 🥰 You can start pretty much right away, the younger they are, the easier it is! It is best to keep them on the same food that they have been eating while with the breeder for the first week or two, and then mix in the raw with the other food, adding more and more, until they eat just raw :) You can also give them small pieces of raw meat just as a little snack and see how they get on!
It depends on the space you have and how often you are willing to make the food. Generally, kittens should eat as much as they want and can often eat even more than adult cats! :) But I would guess that half of these measurements should last about 10 days, but it is very much depending on a particular cat too
Hi! I thought I commented but silly me I didn’t until now!! 😉 I have a few questions... Can you post a little more on there Instagram pls!? Can you do a few more Q&A vids!?✨ You guys are doing an amazing job well done!! ☺️🤍
Hiya, I love your videos!!! I watched all of them in 1 go haha 🤣 and following on insta. Can you replace the pork meat by beef or chicken or lamb using the same ratio?
Hey! Thank you 😊 yes, you can! You just need to make sure that it contains taurine: definitely part of your meat has to be a working muscle meat, like for exapmple a heart. Chicken thighs are a great choice too 😊
We have some sources linked under are video all about raw feeding, it has a table with meats with high taurine content. You can use chicken thighs or pork loin instead of hearts :) also, if you're in the UK, Morrisons sell chicken hearts too!
Does your formula contain enough taurine, a critical amino acid, or what about Mg, are you managing that properly to prevent stone formation? How much methionine and cysteine are your recipe? These are critical to proper nutrition for cats. What about vitamins? Do you know how much critical fat and water soluble vitamins are being supplied by your diet? You have zero answers to these questions, and therefore, are producing crap.

You might find our recent video on raw feeding helpful!
At what age did you start to transition to the raw diet? We are getting 2 8 week old ragdoll kittens this weekend! Love your channel ❤
Thank you so much! 🥰 You can start pretty much right away, the younger they are, the easier it is! It is best to keep them on the same food that they have been eating while with the breeder for the first week or two, and then mix in the raw with the other food, adding more and more, until they eat just raw :) You can also give them small pieces of raw meat just as a little snack and see how they get on!
do I just half the amount if its just for one kitten?? as I don't have that much freezer space hahaha
I have a few questions...
Can you post a little more on there Instagram pls!? Can you do a few more Q&A vids!?✨
You guys are doing an amazing job well done!! ☺️🤍
We'll try and be more consistent with Instagram posts, sometimes life, uni and work get in the way! 💕
@@PixieandBluebell thank you keep up the good work!!! ✨🤍
Hi, your cat is co cute❤️ let's keep in touch!!
Chicken thighs are a great choice too 😊
Proszę sprawdzić sobie produkty marki Lunderland. Pozdrawiam ciepło 😍
Rewatching so I can write down the recipes... and just realize we don’t have a butcher shop, or a pet store and I don’t know where to get the hearts 🥺
We have some sources linked under are video all about raw feeding, it has a table with meats with high taurine content. You can use chicken thighs or pork loin instead of hearts :) also, if you're in the UK, Morrisons sell chicken hearts too!
Pixie and Bluebell thank you so much! You’re always so beyond helpful ❤️
Pork is not recommended for cats. Too little protein, too much fat. That’s why you don’t find pork in commercial cat food.
