- "Liberate the South" (Vietnamese: Giải phóng miền Nam) was the national anthem of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam from 1969 to 1976.
The anthem was composed by the famous trio Lưu Hữu Phước, Mai Văn Bộ and Huỳnh Văn Tiểng under the common pseudonym Huỳnh Minh Siêng.
Fun fact:The guy who composed this song is also the one who composed “Call to the Youths”,the song that was later stolen by the RVN and turn it into “Call to the Citizens”.Thats why in Vietnam there is a joke about this:They stole my “Call to the Youths” for they puppet state,I compose Librate the south and kick their ass
