Another tip is to grab a rag with warm water and soap, scrub the sandal and all the crevices that make contact with your foot. Once that is done to satisfaction, spray Lysol on the sandal and allow to sit over night. Do this about once a week and you should be golden. Don’t forget to wash your feet in the shower as well

Yeah you have to play around with those sandals. I have had the soft bottoms before and you have to dry them out right away after washing. You could try doing this during the day. Wash them out and then place them in a window that receives direct sunlight, or place them outside. The heat from the sun will help kill any bacteria. It only works temporarily because a freezer doesn’t kill bacteria. It only slows them down.
Also, don't leave the flip flops out for too long in the sun, or it will start folding in itself
