A note on the cumulative % DPS increase: it isn't additively computed (ex. C0 to C2 %increase + C3 %increase) but rather multiplicatively calculated (ex. C0 to C2 %increase x C3 %increase)!

Yes I prefer hers and IWTLG because they don't talk too fast like Zyox. Zyox is still great because I got a friend who loves to watch videos from 1.5x-1.75x speed on a regular basis but I'm glad her channel exists
The best part about Alhaitham is that he's incredibly strong at C0 to the point where getting his constellations truly feels unnecessary. And that's awesome.
It really is. Like, could you get cons if you had the money to spend on them? Sure you could, and of course he'd be a fair amount stronger than he is at c0. But it's just not necessary since he's way more than viable in the meta already :)

it's awesome for f2p but because of that his sales are pretty low, there is no need for whales to spend money on his cons
I think his C1 was intended to be a "casual player overworld focus" constellation. In the overworld, you often don't have his burst up and have to lead with E, and usually don't have the time to go through a full rotation and need more uptime on a main DPS. Having a shorter E thus will often help him maintain mirrors for longer against, say, a leyline's worth of enemies.
It's kinda worthless for the abyss or difficult content like the challenge events, though I think some casual players with a more explore focus might go for it to make him feel better in the overworld.
maybe something like kazuha's c1 (skill cd reset upon casting burst) would have worked well for him? i suppose it'd kind of step on the toes of what his C6 currently does in terms of his mirrors tho so idk
@@Toqrainbow i think at c0 he kinda reset his skill after using ult, just kinda cux it doesnt reset skill but gives mirrors, so reseting his skill after burst is knda useless

I agree. This is definitely the point of this constellation. I even considered pulling for the C1/C2 just so I can use him on field more comfortably in the overworld without having to use his burst

Your post needs more like so more people will see it. You make a very excellent point here. I would also like to add that it seems to me that his C1 also makes him more fluid to use in Co-Op. I don't have it yet, but I can see it allowing Alhaitham to more easily keep his Mirrors up during Co-Op. Since he's your only unit on the field if you're Co-Op'ing with other people, you're not going to have time for your CD's to finish while you rotate through the rest of your team. As such, I can see C1 reducing the downtime of his Mirrors considerably when he's on the field 100% of the time during Co-Op sessions, thus keeping his overall DPS higher than it would be without C1. So I would say if you're an Exploration/Story Focused Player and/or a Co-Op Player, Alhaitham's C1 could be quite valuable indeed.
As a fellow Alhaitham simp I don’t regret getting him to c6, he’s insanely fun to play and I plan on getting his sword to r5 either this banner or a future rerun 😌

Thanks for this, Sevy! Very helpful. I was lucky enough to get him to C2, and he's my first-ever limited 5-star that I willingly pulled cons for, so I'm having a lot of fun figuring out how to best play him and pivot my comps around him as my Main DPS.
At the end of the day, a simp's love covers it. If you're happy with the chara, pull for cons! And enjoy!
thanks for the overview! i pulled him c6 at day 1, because i simp for him, and i would have done it anway. but its nice to see that my first impression on his cons were rather accurate. I always thought it was weird that many people day 1 thought u get a full alhaitham burst plus full uptime on field with his c6, wich u dont. so i was theorizing weather his rotation would change or stay the same. glad i was on the right track..... c6 might enable a quickswappy alhaitham with less field time while buffing team em.... maybe

I feel the same with his cons as I did with Ayaka and Ayato. These units feel totally complete at c0 and cons only upgrade what’s already good. There’s no “working around” required with them.
Ayaka is a big no.
C2, C4 and C6 with Shenhe are dimensions ahead each with a 25% gap from each other.
Ayaka ain't Haitham in terms of cons nor F2P option (her 4* team doesn't compete with 5* one).
I agree for Ayato tho.
@@dendenmushi9714 "With Shenhe" the same as "This character is good at C6 with Mona". The only game changing cons for Ayaka to me is her C4 because 30% def decrease is extremely rare and valuable.
As for Ayato, his C2 is probably the most game changing one as it has multiple benefits and significantly increases his damage scaling. Combine it with hydro resonance will even increase it further.
Ayaka and Ayato C6 are basically the same, one big number scaled attack for a set amount interval.
@@dendenmushi9714 I’m talking about completeness in their kit, not who can gain the biggest ceiling with upgrades from cons or supports, meaning; their cons don’t really have any gameplay changing QOL upgrades (eg. Hu Tao C1) aside from pushing the dmg ceiling.
C0 Ayaka can clear literally any content in the game and 36* star abyss, even without Shenhe. Her only “flaw” is energy issue and that is easily mended with a support or good substats in artifacts.
Not saying people like Hu Tao C0 cannot clear content, I’m saying you don’t need to work around those characters’ flaw to play (eg. Jump cancel and manage stamina). Also, not saying anything about team comp either.

Xiao, Klee, Itto, Yoimiya etc... are faultless because their cons are just power increase or irrelevant and their regular gameplay stays the same.
Which is also weird because at C6 this 3 you talk about also have gameplay change.
For your Hu Tao example of changing gameplay for a char C1 doesn't unlock dash cancel (you can do so at C0), it makes dash cancel less punishing that you can abuse however you want.
In fact casual shouldn't even be able to do dash cancel in the first place, not doing any cancel doesn't punish you at C0.
Also by this logic, Kazuha and Yelan have issues because C1 gives an additional e to slot in their rotation to allow more energy which changes their rotations. Some teams can't even allow those 2 e.
Anyway everyone has his way of seeing things, if you prefer character that only add power increase, that's fine (what's not fine is acting like those 3 are the only that follow this template).
I've seen some say the opposite that power increase con on an eady game are boring and prefer cons that opens new ways of using the unit like actually C1 Alhaitham does (not optimally so far but still good).

Love these constellation videos. I go c6 for toons I really like and would love to see it for every 5 star.
I've got alhaithem c6. And I really like that I can alter his rotation based on multiple factors, for example: you can iether use your c6 to take down a boss way faster in the spiral abyss, or extend your infusion uptime so you finish a floor with multiple waves in one rotation with his c1.
This makes him an insane versitile dps Who can clear single target and aoe floors verry well
You do so much math in these videos I stop understanding anything by around the third minute, but I still watch till the end because you have a nice voice and I like listening to you talk
Honestly regarding C6, I just Ult and press E before the ult gives the three mirrors. This then gives you 12 seconds of his C6 buff and 8 seconds of three mirrors if you charge attack when the first one expires.
With his C1 you should be off cooldown before you get down to 1 mirror and can start the rotation again.
My only issue is ER since my build is scuffed (120%) with a bit more you could probably get his ult back off cooldown

This is why I value Kazuha C1 way more than most play theory crafters... His C1 allows more crowd control, more energy and a little more damage.... Yelans is the best C1 over all because yeas DAMAGE and cc.
Yeah Yelan's C1 is a game changer if you also have her weapon. It opens up team comps like crazy and you can even carry with her at that point.
C1 Yelan or C1 HuTao? I'm thinking Yelan's C1 is a lot better than HuTao's.

@@hikari9262 hmm. In that case it just depends what teams you run. If you’re maining Hu Tao C1 is still better imo. If you want to use Yelan with less ER than C1 is great. They’re both QoL constellations but Yelan’s lessens yours ER needs and improves exploration. Hu Tao’s C1 makes her more fun and potentially allows for more damage. Would need to know what teams you want to run and who you main to be definitive

Hey SevyPlays , as someone who also has c6 Alhaitham you forgot 2 mirror burst which has a lot of upsides to do . Basically it’s just e burst charged attack so you can get 60 em for team stronger burst and 6 seconds of c6 effect. It’s pretty good when you think you can end the fight there.

I just tested alhaitham with yaoyao, fischl, and lisa, and they shreds everything so hard i couldn't believe myself. Finally i found my reason to bring lisa
I decided to drop everything I have on this banner for Yunjin and Yaoyao constellations. Ended up with C2 alhaitham after my first lost 50/50. 4 early 5 stars in a row. I don't even know.

Alhaitham over-all is a very balanced character but imo the current situation genshin is in I don't think constellations are worth it, i have plenty of c6 characters myself and I don't think genshin has the content to use those constellation so i think it's best to just go for c0 r1 and call it a day.

Thank you for making this video! I was so tempted to pull for his constellations thinking it might help with playing him, but after listening to your breakdown on what each constellation does and how it affects both him and his team rotations, I don't think the increase in DPS matches with the cost of getting his constellations. For me, getting more constellations doesn't make his play style more forgiving when I make a mistake. When I play spiral abyss, I tend to make way more mistakes and my goal is to clear spiral abyss, so I'd rather invest my primos in making my existing teams better. But that doesn't mean I don't love our "feeble" scholar hehehe.
I got his sword last year trying to get kazhuhas also his sword is r2 maybe I might as well pull for him his next rerun
As someone who has a C1 Haitham, and his weapon at 60 pity and guaranteed. I need to decide if I want a C2 Haitham, C1 Hu tao, or C1 Yelan.... or just go for Eula who I have prefarmed for, all her mats have been sitting there for a year.
as a speedrunner, Alhaitham is truly the C0 GOAT. high dps floor, low dps ceiling.
I plan on going for his c1 when is rerun happens.

So basically just go for C0 and go for his weapon...He's Venti in terms of constellations you dont need them. trust me.
my alhaitham is still lvl 70 with his BiS weapon at lvl 70 but he's already hitting 15-20k per dmg which obviously would just get higher once i max out his lvl and skills

Great analysis, only one thing missing is talking more about the signature weapon, more specifically, if the weapon is good for other characters.
Cause for a low spender and F2P, that's the most important part.

He won't be able to proc the CD reduction passive much unfortunately, because Spread reactions are considered a Dendro reaction. The TF set CD reduction procs with Electro reactions. He'd only be able to proc the CD reduction when he triggers Quicken :(

Hi Sevy, I have a question for C6R1 Alhaitham! Which effects on his C6 will deal more damage over time? I've tried to calculate it myself and find that getting CR/CD buff does more damage but having another C6 perspective will help assure me! 🥲I'm not sure if you already answered it in your video and I might miss out but I hope you can answer my question and have a great weekend ahead

I think he’s kinda like childe where all his cons are just quality of life and you don’t need them if you use optimal rotations.

I like the fact that he as a complete character at c0 and that there is nothing as impactful in his constellations as Hu Tao's c1. I'm sorry, but creating gameplay issues and offering a solution in the form of constellations is literary the worst part of character design in this game.

No, as sevy said in the video, getting his BIS weapon grants alhaitham over 30% damage increase. This means getting his weapon has the same damage increase as c3, so its so much better to have the weapon than his cons.

I personally think it is good since you are just one constellation away from his C2, which gives a damage boost to him with the Elemental Mastery buff.

I think you’ve misunderstood?
His best combo starts with the burst to get max stack of mirrors which offer most of his damage. You activate mirror attacks with his infused normal attacks which the bust launches you into. (Unlike let’s say cyno, you can activate Al Haitham’s infusion through his skill or a charged attack, as well as the burst) He isn’t dependent on the burst to such a crippling degree as other male dps lean. He actually spends a lot of time on field with infusion normal attacks.

@@haruyanto8085 C1 is not necessary but pretty much still a good fail-save. So in case you want to minimize his downtime.
His C1 should just reduce the E cd by 6-8 seconds.
But overall he is hard to play and is very punishing.
