People aren't talking about how big it is that Rick keeps a picture of Morty with him at all times. He usually wouldn't do anything that doesn't have intrinsic value or a larger purpose, so him doing that just for himself perfectly captures how he feels about his grandson. Sad things is that current Rick would never admit it.
While I agree with you completely that its huge with the picture, I look back to season 1 where he cried watching morty as a baby while his brain was scanned in S1 E10, it shows that rick has compassion for morty in a way that contradicts most other ricks.
And when he came back to the hole pause and hung a picture of Morty instead really show how Rick respected Morty because he know he can't do what he did conquer his fear
@@AgentAles That's why Morty (Morty Prime) is wrong to have this fear. Rick C-137 went to the Cronenberg dimension and squatted at the Smith's house because its Rick Prime's real family. Honestly, that reveal is my only problem with the episode. Rick's moments with Diane were something he never actually experienced, which ruined the idea that he was trying to move on from her. It was a great episode for Morty but Rick not even knowing that Diane was in the hole until Morty climbed out felt like a bit of a misstep for what the episode was trying to do.
@@Bluelyre Yeah, I've been thinking about it and in hindsight, it actually was the right decision. Rick is self-aware to the point of it being downright unhealthy, something that he acknowledged in Solaricks when he admitted that he specifically programmed the AI with Diane's voice in order to torture himself. And when the AI asked if he was leaving because he wanted to move on, Rick's response was "Because I don't. And I have to."
The ending was a “Shutter Island” kind of twist when Ricks mouth open and told Morty Thank you for visiting. I was on the floor shocked. Easily best finale for me.
The line where Rick explains that he didn't jump in because the hole can't examine two fears at the same in case they cancel each other out felt significant. It's very possible that Rick's greatest fear is Morty no longer needing him (compounded by his loss of Diane) and in that, Morty would learn he isn't replaceable and Rick would learn that Morty would never leave him, cancelling out both fears.
I also just think being alone is way more scary, so they could never truly know and trust they were both real or it wouldn't be the scariest place in the Galaxy
Honestly, with the context of Rick having the photo of Morty in his wallet - and everything else said in the video about that moment - I feel like your interpretation has it down pat.
The finale was something so unexpected, so mind boggling to me. It’s not something “canon”-based as they do in previous seasons, it’s an introspective deep dive into Morty’s ethos and the way he ticks. I was so shocked at the plot twist in the final minutes of the episode, and it sent my stomach into a pit feeling. The Hole’s speech about love and Rick had been captivated so much I watched it again at the end of the episode. This has shaped up to be my favorite episode of Rick and Morty. And the Mr. Poopy Butthole scene at the end was hilarious.
Its interesting because Morty in this episode is really doing all of the tricks he usually does, he takes advantage any way he can, "disrupting the simulation", tries every approach possible, and still gets it wrong until the very end. Like it was very in character for Morty, but you dont even know until the end of the episode. Just the type of thing Rick and Morty does best, you can almost predict half the things that will happen but somehow it still manages to surprise.
@calvin1786 I think we are going to see a new arc of Rick and Morty. Where Rick is trying to avoid being similar to Rick Prime. Then we have Morty as of now who's okay with fear and getting smarter. If you remember, "A Cocky Morty can lead to some big problems." So I'm guessing our Morty is going to slowly becoming a cocky/evil Morty. We'll have a slow continuous arc of Rick vs Morty. The ending being Rick-137 isn't like the rest because he's one of lost and chose to become a grandpa and stay with a Morty instead of creating a new evil Morty.
The thing that really gets me about this finale is just how emotional the scenes between Rick and Dianne are. You really feel the weight of that decision Rick has to make for Morty. But then it all ends up just being inside of Morty's head. So as emotional as the Rick and Dianne stuff is, it's all from Morty's knowledge of Rick himself. When you actually break that fact down, Morty's empathy for his grandpa is on another level, and for as much crap as he does give Rick now, it shows that all Morty really wants is for Rick to find real happiness.
Which gives another level to Morty's fear. He's afraid his grandpa might not let Diane go for him. That's why ending on Rick being there for Morty after we know for a fact the hole is over, is so important.
Hey, Johnny! I was part of the S7 crew, and just wanted to say: 1. Like I've been telling my partner all year (not wanting to spoil) - ep 5 is what fans want, but ep 10 is what they need :) 2. We were served churros at the Christmas party and I find it hilarious. Thank you for your videos, as always!
The one thing I greatly loved about this season is the clear "rick is trying" motif, he is going to therapy, he is setting boundary, he is trying to respect the family more and most of all, he is trying to do more "yes-and" with Morty without an over reliance on his snarky behavior. I honestly think the pet cemetery bit was a great example of this, where originally he tries to make Morty shut up, but then he was more receptive to the core idea Morty gave him. Seeing him grow and feel more real rather than an impossible person makes the show better. He doesn't have to solve all his emotional problems at once, he could even fall back, but this is a nice change of pace.
It feels like they're finally taking Rick's character to where they probably wanted it to go after Season 2. After such a big moment in that season's finale, the show seemed to backpedal for a while and not let Rick gradually change. This season feels like it's finally answering the fanbase's concern and is expanding on those loose threads, seeing as how there were so many season 1-2 references throughout this one.
@@tastypotato9272 I think it's a combination of having that long term deal and Dan Harmon's influence. If a show is going from one season renewal to another, you don't plan long term story archs and you stick with what gets ratings (Rick being a sociopath). If you look at Community, Dan Harmon's original show, it was planned with the main character development from the start. A comedic sociopath slowly learning to change his ways.

I wish rick and morty would do more episodes based on these sci-fi, psychological or moral concepts. It's episodes like this which makes rick and morty one of my favorite series.
I really enjoy how Rick is finally back to being not a god anymore. Like in seasons 3, 4, 5, and maybe 6 he’s treated as an untouchable god with like insta kill shields and an entire body of mechanisms, while season 1 and 2 have just be kinda smart and have like 2 gadgets in his pocket every mission. It’s nice to see him getting his ass kicked or make mistakes and not entirely dominating or being able to easily defeat every enemy that comes his way
I've really enjoyed it as well. Although I still think him wiping his own mind in the spaghetti episode was *really* odd. Sure, it's happened before, but that was a result of he and Morty fighting over the memory erasure tool. This was just.. clumsy, I guess? Like, Morty level clumsy.
For me, as along as the tech doesnt get super like huh "snake catcher", i dont mind. Rick has constantly show despite being good he is still able to be beaten, confronted and able to be countered. I am sure if you went through even a day with Rick portal gun, you are bound to make something "Op" appearently cuz how dare you?
This is why Rick and Morty is bad now. You people not realizing why Rick would be a god. Rick would have called out why the hole is a hack piece of writing and he had done similar carnival rides many times before. This show now blows the minds of nobody
tbh i actually think this season is one of the best of the series. it balances the off beat humor and serious character driven sci fi storylines that make me love the series extra well this season.
@chevy1221 okay my crackpot theory is they made the first one shit so we'd go into it with low expectations, and not be too critical of the new direction they took the show in😂 because I agree the 1st ep was kind of a snooze fest, but I loved this season and the new voice actors are fantastic
the new voice actors for BOTH Rick and Morty really gave it there all and there spot on to the point where I can't tell the difference anymore and I hardy miss Roiland
They’re bad compared to Roiland. He created the characters and was them. The new VA do a commendable job impersonating him but that’s all it is. An impersonation
What i liked about this session was rick actually caring for the family more, sure getting mad here and there, but actually caring, not as them as replaceable or objects, but actually loving them
I think this is a set up for our Morty to represent a whole philosophical response to nihilism, which is the ultimate, constant, antagonist of the series.
@@NinjapowerMS Morty is a very inconsistent character and the writers keep going in circles with him. Even this episode didn't really reveal anything new about Morty that we didn't know. So I don't expect much tbh.
I’m so happy they finally gave Morty his deserved time after he was sidelined for pretty much the whole season. I did enjoy the season a lot for the most part; I have a lot of hope for the future of this show.
Seasons 4 and 5 I couldn't even finish some episodes. Season 6 got me interested again, and season 7 reminded me why I once considered this show my favorite. So excited to see where they go in season 8.
this exactly!! the latest episodes really made me feel some of the same charm i did in S1/S3 despite being very different. it just feels like the show is getting its soul back
This was an episode, the Spaghetti one, that I had to skip since it was too difficult for me to watch. However, after this video I went back to watch it. My mom passed away about 6 weeks ago, and during her last two weeks I got to spend lots of time with her talking about life and about how complicated it was. The last week, before she passed, I was able to spend a lot of time with her, holding her hand, stroking her head, and making sure she was taken care of. It was the most beautiful and amazing sorrow that I've felt and I am so happy I got to be a part of that with her. Life is complicated, and even though it was scary and sad being there with her, the feelings were overshadowed by the promise I made her, which was to be there not letting her pass on alone. For very selfish reasons, I felt that being a part of her life at the end filled me with joy, and I can only hope that she felt safe and wasn't in pain.
@@TH_SofaI think Heather Anne Campbell did confirm on Fear No Mort's Inside the Episode clip that they've written her personality to be like that even in reality
The best part was the fear hole guy telling Morty that he could leave whenever he wanted. Telling Morty exactly what he needed to do to overcome his fear.
@@17thknightthis show isn’t a comedy…it has comedy but I’m sure nobody nor the creators ever considered it to be under th category of “comedy” like..? You must have NEVER seen any of the show because from the start there has been many different themes throughout all the seasons..

I think my favorite part about this season is summer getting more screen time. I always thought Summer could do a lot better by herself despite her insecurities about being left out and I was right, yeah she got herself in trouble but then she picked herself back up before Rick came in to help. Not to mention singer get the acknowledgment from Rick that he sees her as his equal just made it batter.
Yes, I love Summer. She brings so much humor to the show with how she plays off Rick, Morty, and Jerry. Summer and Jerry on screen crack me tf up. Their dynamic is so funny😂
This season gives me hope for the show. I was really surprised to see how good these episodes were. But the episode with the spaghetti and the fear hole…..those were the heavy hitters of this season. It gave me season 1 and 2 vibes with how deep they ended up being. I thought the spaghetti episode was gonna be nothing but gross out humor but damn was I wrong. Those episodes would be in my head, whether it’s the cover of the Oasis song or the inception like trippiness of the hole episode. The new VAs did a great job to the point where I didn’t even think about Roiland being replaced.
I like to believe that had Rick jumped in, the events would’ve played out similar to Morty’s version of him and Diane being together and he would not want to leave her at all, having to confront his fear of letting her go or being happy
That part about the spaghetti episode. Brother i cried. You hit the nail on the head for what i witnessed and took away from that montage. A homie was in pain.
Dan harmon is good at having vision for shows, and he is funny. For a long time Justin Roiland held him back and they fed into their worst traits so im glad he’s out
I think this season felt a lot more subtle than previous seasons. I think the reduced attention and coverage it got actually helped it in the long run. This season was quietly brilliant I think. It followed up on loose threads from previous seasons in such a natural way without making a big deal out of it. This also had some really good character studies especially the finale. Everything that happened with Roiland has heavily affected my perception and enjoyment of the show. Truthfully too much has changed for me to enjoy it the same way that I used to and I don’t think the show will get me back to that level but honestly it doesn’t need to. My favorite moment of the season was Rick looking down the Fear Hole and deciding not to go in and leaving Morty’s picture. The more I reflect on it the more I agree that this may have been the show’s best finale.
You reminded me that they had new voice actors….I honestly, no lie, had forgotten. I was enjoying the season, and like to watch your material once I’ve seen it. I’d have to say they must have done a good job since I forgot.
honestly with the season finale, I couldn't even notice if the va's were Justin roiland or not, they've warmed up to their roles so much that it just works now. The finale was actually so good
season 7 felt (for the most part) a return to form for the show. i think it was the strongest season since s4. it had like 2 or 3 mid episodes but the rest were all good or amazing. im hoping they continue with direction moving forward
I absolutely died laughing at the end of Fear No Mort after Morty said that his worst fear was that if he jumped in a hole, Rick would just stand there and watch. I'm not completely sure why, but that reveal made me laugh so incredibly hard 😂
I must say that the new voices of Rick and Morty gave their very best in this episode. This season I have been getting used to them and they've been very good, but in this episode I think they made a great job. Kudos to them. Edit: Just saw the video. Glad to know I'm not the only one that thinks that.
You can tell the show changed because of how they approach continuity. Before they'd begrudgingly do a lore episode at the beginning or end of the season, full of meta jokes complaining it. But this season not only gave us a lore episode played completely straight, but they also threw in small references to Prime or Diane in episodes that had nothing to do with that storyline, showing that these new writers are a lot more comfortable with continuity.
@@17thknight Can be both. I don't even want every episode to be lore-focused, I'm just glad they can aknowledge continuity without whining about fan expectations constantly
I’m still not sure if the ending of That’s Amorte was a reference to Soylent Green, but damn was it a great sequence. We’ve definitely entered a new era of the show and I’m hyped to see more. Still really weird to think we’ve gone this far after only a decade. Feels shorter.
There were three or four themes of the episode depending on whether or not you lump one in with the other. Euthanasia, capitalism being depressing (and people trying not to feel bad about all the sweatshop labour that goes into their stuff) and internet trolling. I didn't really think that disclaimer needed to be at the start until it got to the scene where two aliens were telling a woman to kill herself. You could argue theme two was the same idea as Soylent Green, but the ending was to point out that the people you troll online have a life of their own.
As soon as I finished the episode my first thought was "I cant wait to see Johnny's episode" bc i KNEW there was one coming 😂 The little moments between rick and diane were heartbreaking "Thats how we- how...i met my wife" Then the repeated fakeouts of climbing out of the hole getting more ridiculous cracked me the hell up And i legit had tears well up when Rick just pulled a photo of morty out of his wallet. That moment hit so hard and I loved it
I wouldnt mind seeing a season where rick essentially becomes a multiversal freedom fighter, going back to his roots when he was one with bird person. Essentially his goal is to re-engineer the infinite killing machine that rick prime used to kill diane and reverse it so it undoes the multiversal killing. Essentially giving every rick a choice to be what they want instead of what theyre forced to be
smartest man in the universe can create a perfect clone of Diane but rick’s last ties to humanity before his eyes were opened were the moments he spent with the real diane or the diane that was his, smartest man in the universe would recognize the impossibility of living with and acting like a clone of his wife is the real deal. it’s the fact that his entire reality was shaken when he discovered multiversal travel just like morty. i think the perfect episode would be an opening scene of rick at morty’s age, what were his parents like, who was rick in the 1960s before the mind bending gadgets, the alien tech he saw in the universe and reverse engineered, before the portal gun.
Also I'd like to mention that in s7, there seems to be a lot more of Rick's scientist side (experimenting with different trials), which was cool since before we only get to see Rick knowing everything. Seeing Rick try and learn new things is quite nice Like him experimenting in E4, E6, and E9
Rickfriending Your Mort especially made me so happy. The equivalent episodes in Seasons 4 and 6 with the story train and meta commentary were so bloated and confusing. But in season 7, the framing went back to being simple yet satisfying, and there were so many great jokes in the various clips. Feels like something the show’s been missing for years.
Wish you would have talked about the music. There's been so much great original music I've noticed this season. The score for Rick and Diane's date in bar was genuinely beautiful. Glad you mentioned the Live Forever cover
I really really liked this episode J think it was definitely one of my top 10s. The voices didnt even really sound that bad this episode, I barely noticed the voice and was more interested in what was going on. The ending itself was crazy, seeing rick not go in the hole and put Mortyd pic on the wall was so nice, just knowing rick kept that picture in the wallet was wholesome to me, really shows the character development
The whole episode, I was able to keep it together. It's easy to make me cry over a piece of media, but the whole time I was trying to not do so for some silly one-sided competition with my dad but when Rick pulled a picture of Morty out of his wallet for the wall I just cried so much. I mean, come on. Rick keeps a picture of Morty in his wallet. Even though he's basically always with Morty. That's so sweet, he really does love Morty, and that fact got to me.
8:26 I’m trying to remember, didn’t Simple Rick also have his Diane still prior to the Citadel capturing him? I thought because of his divergent nature it set him on a separate timeline from all the super science stuff, which would’ve spared his Diane from the bomb which seemed to hit the Diane’s of the Ricks who did pursue science over their relationship.
I was blown away by how good this season was! It really hooked me back in after the last few seasons were disappointing, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!
Facing a fear doesn't mean getting rid of the thing you fear it's simply no longer caring about it the only way to know that you're not in the hole is to not know and not care because if your told your in the hole then you must be in the hole
I thought I wanted Rick confronting his fear of letting go of Diane. But what I actually needed was Morty letting go of his dependency on Rick and Rick subtly showing his love and respect for Morty (with the picture) Seriously one of the best finales ever
I really thought they were gonna bring Doofus Jerry especially because of the new opening but I actually enjoyed the Season Finally it was simply yet expressive with the characters something reminding me of the first two seasons and I have no complaints.
This season proved to me a theory I have had for a while. That Justin Roiland is one of the main perpetrators for why Rick and Morty could not get past the self-loathing and nihilism that permeated so much of it. Now I’m not talking about the narrative, self-loathing and nihilism that is a key part of the shows humor and messages. I mean the fact that it seemed like the writers themselves hated themselves and their show and lacked so much confidence in their ability to do anything that they ruined everything. Now I am almost completely sure that it was the Man child Justin Roiland that is responsible for why the show sucked.
from what ive read, justin roiland was barely even involved with the show's writing after around season 3 and just sent in his lines over the internet. the writers probably could never go full steam ahead when their star voice actor never even showed up to work with them
That episode was so good. Like Bojack horseman level good. And that has been a lofty benchmark for some time. I actually really feel like bar a couple Of episodes the standard of season 7 has been really high. Much much better than season 6, which i found disappointing. I’m really excited for where they take the franchise. And the new voice actors have done amazing work, not only being a familiar sound for the characters but bringing their own energy and something new to the series. Once you adjust to the change, the show as a whole is much stronger for it going forward. Whatever Justin has or hasn’t done though, it can’t be denied - Rick and Morty wouldn’t be what it is without him. So, feels like a new beginning for the franchise. But without needing to reboot. Great video. Helped clear up the ending for me 100%. 👍
Bro this episode made me shed a tear twice. Seriously gave me mad respect for the direction they're taking with the departure from the roiland era of R&M I really think that this episode is like peak emotional storytelling in cartoons. They absolutely shattered my expectations. I personally think this finale will go down as one of the best episodes of any cartoon out there. Season 7 has been hit or miss but mostly good, but damn this episode went hard and made me think a lot
This has been my favourite season in years. Probably in my top three all things considered. The new voice actors are amazing and the character development afforded to Rick, Morty, Jerry, and Summer this season has been wonderful.
Thank you for explaining the ending episode. I liked it a LOT, but I didn't really know how to...piece it together in my head. This absolutely nailed it for me, I get it now!!
I didn't even notice that there was a change in the team that lends the voices of Rick and Morty, but I noticed that the episodes became more interesting for me and that I even genuinely laughed out loud a couple of times, which was not often the case in the last few seasons.
This season was great! Honestly one of my favorite of the series. You know what other show had a great season.... American Dad 👀 just saying *cough cough*
The fact that Rick had the photo makes me thing that's what Evil Morty was refuring to when he said our Rick was different. Makes sense that Evil Morty would have seen it while moving Rick's body. This Rick actually cares about Morty while the others never did. THAT is what makes him different.
I wasn't expecting to be entertained with the ad too. I also can't believe how i missed the greatness in the spaghetti episode till you explained it. Great video, kudos.
The season has been so so.. But the last 2 episodes rocked and the voices have gotten pretty good. Watching the last episode i totally forgot that they have new voice actors
to me this was the worst season. it's still a good show but it isn't on the same level. most of the other comments think it was great so to each his own.
I'm curious about if Evil Morty is even going to be an antagonist going forward at all. His whole deal was wanting to not deal with Rick, to be free; he got that, and he's seemed to demonstrate thus far that he truly doesn't care what Rick gets up to, so long as it doesnt affect him. He only took the device as assurance, stating that he has no intention of using it. It seems like the smart thing to do is to leave him be, and not give him a reason to be an antagonist.
This is definitely my favorite episode in years, possibly my favorite one ever because of that ending. There were mid episodes this season, but the highs were so high it's insane.
That montage literally brought tears to my eyes - it was so profound and complex. This is what I love about this show. An episode about suicide spaghetti made me cry. 😂 Rick and Morty, a hundred years!!
Even though this season had the worst episode of the series (damn you numbericons), I also think it had three of the best episodes of the show. I think the team behind the show proved to all of us that this show is more than one man. I expect good things for season 8.
I love the moments like in this episode where we see the softer side to rick that cares about Morty. It something you could see sprinkled in the first season (ricks reaction to the jellybean king comes to mind) but i feel like it disappeared for a while and rick became more calloused
I really liked this Season. Only least favorites is the premiere and the Jerrick episode. (I like episode 3 because we finally got to see Unity again after 7 or 8+ years!)
I personally loved the jerick episode, it shows Rick and Jerry's relationship very well and showing them getting along for the first time is really beautiful to watch. Not to mention that the song "we are going to be friends" is still in my head to this day
I loved season 7, R&M has been so terrible for the last few seasons, with miss after miss after miss... season 7 was such a refresher, I'm glad Justin Roiland left LOL
That whole Morty bit when he said “holy shit I’m turning into my dad” and then gets out the hole. That’s probably the funniest moment in the entire show for me
God I completely disagree about the spaghetti episode. The premise was absolutely stupid, and the last two minutes was a bad attempt at emotional poignancy tacked onto a really stupid episode. And the cover of Live Forever made my dogs run out of the room. I liked the finale though.
It's really strange how much praise it's getting. Seems like people think heavy subjects = poignant and deep 10/10 episode, but the actual script was all over the place.

It also showed a lot of Rick's progress with Dr Wong. He didn't give in to his self destructive impulses and he gave respect to Morty.
It also shows how important Rick is to him, even in an episode centering about his own fears, the one with the most screen time is his grandpa
Which gives another level to Morty's fear. He's afraid his grandpa might not let Diane go for him. That's why ending on Rick being there for Morty after we know for a fact the hole is over, is so important.
When rickest Rick and mortiest Morty doesn’t mean intelligence, but love for their family and understanding and empathy for each other
Hey, Johnny! I was part of the S7 crew, and just wanted to say:
1. Like I've been telling my partner all year (not wanting to spoil) - ep 5 is what fans want, but ep 10 is what they need :)

That's awesome, thanks for an excellent season! :D
decend statement but almost everything inbetween is what no real fan of the show wanted or needed -.- I guess the spaghetti episode was at least good.

That's what made the show so intriguing in the first 2 seasons so it's nice to see them expand on it again
All of this correlates to Morty's POV of Rick too I think
This is why Rick and Morty is bad now. You people not realizing why Rick would be a god. Rick would have called out why the hole is a hack piece of writing and he had done similar carnival rides many times before. This show now blows the minds of nobody
@@VicAusTaxiTruckie It doesn't have to blow minds to be enjoyable
tbh i actually think this season is one of the best of the series. it balances the off beat humor and serious character driven sci fi storylines that make me love the series extra well this season.
the first episode was dog shit tho
Rick is passable, but morty is not "spot on" imo. People say it fits because hes getting older or something like that, but i personally can't stand it

What i liked about this session was rick actually caring for the family more, sure getting mad here and there, but actually caring, not as them as replaceable or objects, but actually loving them
Morty comfronting his fear was a great experience and i hope a window for more character growth for him next season
I think this is a set up for our Morty to represent a whole philosophical response to nihilism, which is the ultimate, constant, antagonist of the series.
Hopefully this develops into something. Always disappointed that Morty always reverts back inconsistently to a hypocrite weakling or a mini rick.
I just hope they eventually get Marta back so Morty can go back to normal
@@NinjapowerMS Morty is a very inconsistent character and the writers keep going in circles with him. Even this episode didn't really reveal anything new about Morty that we didn't know. So I don't expect much tbh.

Seasons 4 and 5 I couldn't even finish some episodes. Season 6 got me interested again, and season 7 reminded me why I once considered this show my favorite. So excited to see where they go in season 8.
I completely agree!
Yes! I feel the same way

dude the way this finale actually broke me 😭 i was also like, "oh johnny's gonna make a video on this one"
I'm just glad this episode sorta gave more insight into Diane's personality.
Well possibly it’s just a figment of Morty’s imagination, and other random unsaid possibilities.
But man was it convincing
Considering Morty never met Diane, it's possible that's not actually how she is in reality.

Same, i hope summer keeps getting screen time because i think she’s one of the more underrated characters in R&M
She’s an awful and unfunny character who doesn’t fit in the series. She’s boring and cringe.
I feel like so long as Dan Harmon is writing, this show will survive.
This season has shown me that this show can survive indefinitely. It's obvious that Dan Harmon's writing is what was carrying the series all along.
Heather Anne Campbell wrote this episode
This has to be the most consistent season of the show yet, every episode was phenomenal
I love how each time you disparaged the season, you showed clips of the Alpabetrium episode.
People who care about "lore" and "canon" are insufferable. The show is a comedy, it's supposed to be funny, JFC.
As soon as I finished the episode my first thought was "I cant wait to see Johnny's episode" bc i KNEW there was one coming 😂
The little moments between rick and diane were heartbreaking "Thats how we- how...i met my wife"
Then the repeated fakeouts of climbing out of the hole getting more ridiculous cracked me the hell up
And i legit had tears well up when Rick just pulled a photo of morty out of his wallet.
Essentially giving every rick a choice to be what they want instead of what theyre forced to be
Ngl sounds amazing
smartest man in the universe can create a perfect clone of Diane but rick’s last ties to humanity before his eyes were opened were the moments he spent with the real diane or the diane that was his, smartest man in the universe would recognize the impossibility of living with and acting like a clone of his wife is the real deal. it’s the fact that his entire reality was shaken when he discovered multiversal travel just like morty. i think the perfect episode would be an opening scene of rick at morty’s age, what were his parents like, who was rick in the 1960s before the mind bending gadgets, the alien tech he saw in the universe and reverse engineered, before the portal gun.

IDK why but Summer throwing her phone at the wall was the funniest f*ckin thing ever to me
I didn't cry at the montage in That's Amorte, YOU cried!
Also I'd like to mention that in s7, there seems to be a lot more of Rick's scientist side (experimenting with different trials), which was cool since before we only get to see Rick knowing everything. Seeing Rick try and learn new things is quite nice
Like him experimenting in E4, E6, and E9
I had my jaw dropped at the end just in shock. Insanely fantastic episode. They still have it and they never lost it.
I can never not binge watch a Rick and Morty season when it drops and this didn’t disappoint honestly probably one of my new favorite seasons
Rick pinning Morty's photo was a moment so heartwarming that I never would have expected to be able to come from this show.
Great video! To me this season is a top 3 season. There was only one episode I didn't enjoy and 3 or four top tier episodes! Loved it!
I cried like a baby with the spaghetti episode montage omg, impressive work.
That “live forever” montage makes me cry every time

I was blown away by how good this season was! It really hooked me back in after the last few seasons were disappointing, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!
Facing a fear doesn't mean getting rid of the thing you fear it's simply no longer caring about it the only way to know that you're not in the hole is to not know and not care because if your told your in the hole then you must be in the hole
I thought I wanted Rick confronting his fear of letting go of Diane. But what I actually needed was Morty letting go of his dependency on Rick and Rick subtly showing his love and respect for Morty (with the picture)
Seriously one of the best finales ever
I really thought they were gonna bring Doofus Jerry especially because of the new opening but I actually enjoyed the Season Finally it was simply yet expressive with the characters something reminding me of the first two seasons and I have no complaints.
0:33 couldn’t talk about this season as a HOLE?? Hahah nice one!
That's a good theory! After he was fired, the show became so much better. I haven't been this existed for a new season since the finale of season 2.
from what ive read, justin roiland was barely even involved with the show's writing after around season 3 and just sent in his lines over the internet. the writers probably could never go full steam ahead when their star voice actor never even showed up to work with them
Absolutely correct! This show is doing so much better without Roiland and his replacement are nailing the voice.
That episode was so good. Like Bojack horseman level good. And that has been a lofty benchmark for some time. I actually really feel like bar a couple
Of episodes the standard of season 7 has been really high. 👍

The fact that Rick had the photo makes me thing that's what Evil Morty was refuring to when he said our Rick was different. Makes sense that Evil Morty would have seen it while moving Rick's body. This Rick actually cares about Morty while the others never did. THAT is what makes him different.
Best season since 3 and 4. All of the episodes mad me laugh for a minute, twice. Just incredible!
Never watched Rick and Morty but heck it I'm gonna watch it anyway
The spaghetti flashback montage gave me really big "Up intro" vibes. Which speaks VOLUMES about how well it was done
This is definitely my favorite episode in years, possibly my favorite one ever because of that ending. There were mid episodes this season, but the highs were so high it's insane.

Yea that episode was dogshit. Had a couple funny moments but overall it was pretty bad.
Nice video. Also, that theme song at the end is lit!
God I completely disagree about the spaghetti episode. The premise was absolutely stupid, and the last two minutes was a bad attempt at emotional poignancy tacked onto a really stupid episode. And the cover of Live Forever made my dogs run out of the room. I liked the finale though.
I liked the episode but I do think it was waste it just showed morty being annoying
It's really strange how much praise it's getting. Seems like people think heavy subjects = poignant and deep 10/10 episode, but the actual script was all over the place.
