Smallmouth Bass, Walleye, Big Crappie Why Fishing Flowages in Northern Wisconsin IS FUN!

The flowages of northern Wisconsin are increasingly becoming some of my favorite places to fish. The smallmouth bass in these fisheries like to sit shallow which makes catching them a fun and exciting change-up to the deeper/clear water lakes where a ned rig, drop shot, and 3-inch swimbait are dominant. At the flowages smallmouth can be caught on a wider variety of baits and in less than 10 feet of water. I believe the smallmouth sit shallower because the water clarity is only a few feet. On top of the amazing and exciting shallow smallmouth fishing big crappie and walleye can also be caught in these areas. My biggest crappie was nearly 2lbs! You will see that video next week where I also land a 4lb smallmouth.
