I do this with my boyfriend and his little brothers! They’re getting to the point where the Bros walk in and say “I gotta check and see how big this plant is now!” Makes me smile 😊 they’ve named them and it’s definitely made me more attached to certain plants because the guys actually like them and enjoy them with me!

This video is one of my favorites. You share a plethora of things: plant tour, latest on your propagations, how some plant blooms look, not so good outcomes, ideas/thoughts you are "struggling" with, your neck pain, your family, another recommended source for buying plants, etc. I found it refreshing and not to "planned and canned." Lol!! Just relax and let it flow!!

I propogate in my south facing window, I use dark glass beer bottles. I started using a product called reptisafe, which makes water safe for my leopard geckos to drink. Now I use that for all my plant waterings, and my water propogations. It's nice because I don't need to use distilled water and can save plastic. Loved your video :) my plant tour has to include my huge adansonii, I'm so proud of my 2 brasil plants, and my marimo moss ball is super cute!

I repot my phals loosely in sphagnum on a couple inches of pebbles or glass marbles in clear glass pitchers. I fill the pitcher with water every week or two, let it sit for 10 or 15 minutes, then pour out the water. They're all doing great.

I'd recommend repotting your new orchids after the blooms are done! That much sphagnum moss around the roots can keep them from breathing properly - in the meantime the roots will turn white when they need water 😁

My boy just turned 2 and he’s at a point where he understands to not randomly pick up plants, play in dirt, etc 😂 hopefully the plant baby proofing is only temporary! Recently now my monstera got some ripped leaves from my son, but that’s a different struggle rather than just playing in the plants 😄 we’ve learned to be gentle but apparently sometimes ripping leaves seems interesting too 😭

Phalaenopsis orchids: they like loads of air circulation around roots, like aroids. I have the bigger phals in just huge chunks of bark. They eat loads of fertilisers, so during summer my giants get chicken manure. Extra calcium and magnesium. Seaweed extract. All depends on how you like to take care of them: the humidity in your room and the air around where you live. :)
Paphiopedilums like moisture and the roots are brittle. I'm just getting to know them and some seem to show first new blooming with me.

    Just about orchids. :)
I have a copy/paste I use for facebook plant groups with people asking :)
General rule is that when the roots are nice and green - they are hydrated and when they are silvery sheened - they are thirsty (if they brown or icky - theyre dead) Water when silver :)
Watering: as long as they are in this very highly draining pot - run as close to room temperature water through the clear pot for up to 2 minutes - let drain and then return to the deco pot.
Proper care involves keeping in mind that they are epiphytes. this means that in the wild - their roots are exposed and cling to the bark and branches of trees.
When we bring them into our home we need to adjust to that. Repotting: So nice big chunky soils for larger plants so that they have ample air to the roots (smaller species of orchids can do small chunk bark or even sphagnum moss)- otherwise the suffocate. Typically they have a clear pot inside of decorative pots. that have lots of holes for drainage and airflow.
If you need any other information - a really good resource is Brad's Greenhouse on UA-cam :)

I love to propagate in distilled water and a beta fish in clear glass jars or vases from dollar tree! And honestly now that's a serious addiction because there are so many different beta fish but the plants love the emulsion and the beta loves the roots so there for it's a win win.

I love the idea you have of sharing plants that other people would like to own, but you put a lot of effort, probably time and care towards that plant for it to get to that size... so i dont think its selfish of you to want to keep it. I actually think you should, its your plant and it makes you happy, that doesnt make you a selfish person.

I have two phalaenopsis orchids and have derived much pleasure from getting them to rebloom. Also, I would dearly love to have a variegated monstera and hope you figure out a way to share your gorgeous plant or point me in the direction of a provider. I'm thinking about trying your method of bottom watering and am looking for a boot tray like yours. Can you share where you got it? How many years have you been collecting plants ? Also, could the begonia be a rex plum paisley ? I really don't know.

Check out Miss Orchid Girl for orchid help(I wrote that before you said you watch her) . That is a gorgeous big lip phal! I have 60+ orchids. The flower stems are called spikes. Make sure your orchids don't sit in water it can cause root rot. Water them when the roots turn silver.

I vote you to do a comparing video with the propagate with and without liquid dirt.
It is NOT selfish to keep your Monstera whole... you think about it before cutting it. Do what you feel in your heart.

But girl! I hope that neck of yours feels better soon. I feel like you've been dealing with that for awhile now. Have you tried massage or chiro? Hope it gets sorted for you soon cuz musculoskeletal pain is awful. 💜 we love you and don't want you to hurt!
