First of all, fantastic video. Due to previous disasters that I suffered in that river fording, I dismissed it as an option outright. Watching you pull it off was mind-blowing and extremely exciting. I expected you to high-center on that rock in the middle and you did. I once spent half an hour spinning the tires on my Fleetstar to get it off of that same rock. But the P16 delivered (pun intended) as it always does. While I'm on the subject, it became clear that the developers fully intended for the P16 to be employed in this task since it is introduced on the Drummond Island map. In fact, I immediately recognized its utility in hauling the construction trailer when I first discovered it as I'd had a terrible experience using the Fleetstar to haul the one in Black River. That experience was agony as the Fleetstars front wheels spent most of the time in the air and I had to make extensive use of the winch to make steering corrections. I love the Fleetstar -- overall best truck in the Michigan stage and I could wax lyrical but I won't, let me just say use it early and often --, but it just isn't enough truck for these heavy tasks.
But the P16 is pure beast mode. It is brilliantly balanced such that its diff-locked rear-wheel-drive is more than adequate for even the worst of terrain. And it is as powerful as it is stable, which is to say extremely so. Its only shortcomings are that it is slow, it has the turning radius of a battleship, and that its wide track, which affords it that amazing stability, hinders it when negotiating narrow gaps between trees and rocks. Nevertheless, it shines as a workhorse for those heavy and oversized-load missions like Out With The Old.
You analysis of the longer route down the mountain in Black River was spot on. The wood bridge was almost a disaster to negotiate. It took me over half an hour. The wheels on the right side of the trailer slipped off of the bridge early in the crossing, but I was able to stabilize with the winch, which brings up three useful tips. First, if you get the camera oriented properly, you can use the sides of the bridge itself as anchor points for the winch. This is nice because most of the trees are out of range. Second, there are attachment points along the top of the side of the construction trailer, which provide additional support against tipping. Third, when the winch is attached, you can reorient it to use different anchor points without having to release it first and risk having the trailer shift or flip over. You do this by revisiting the winch options in the Functions Menu while still attached. This enables you to "walk" the anchor point as you progress forward with the load.
Regarding the 90 degree turn on the dam, you can get the trailer around it, but you have to line everything up perfectly and go as wide as you can with the P16 until the front right tire is scrubbing the guard rail. I took the long conservative route through the farm and logging camp and I did 98% of the entire trip in low gear. It took me over 4 hours! If I had lost the trailer toward the end, I honestly don't know if I would have had the motivation to reattempt. I tried to do the entire haul cleanly, but there were times when I simply had to use the winch to tug the tail of the trailer to the outside of tight corners where it was getting stuck on a tree, phone pole, or rock in the inside of the turn. In spite of its apparent high center of gravity, the construction trailer is surprisingly stable. In fact, it felt like it was unrealistically stable and I think the developers did that on purpose to make the task possible.
TLDR: Use the P16, go the long way where it is flat and the road is as wide as possible. Make liberal use of the winch. Low gear is your friend. Stage your refueling points.

Josh! My man! Thank you for your in depth comment. Thoroughly enjoyed reading how much you enjoyed my video. I’ve been disheartened with UA-cam a little but comments like yours make the quiet spells more worthwhile. Im glad to know my content is appreciated. Means a great deal to me. Thank you.
Im toying with the idea of doing some livestreams as I play through again on the PS5.. maybe UA-cam, maybe twitch, maybe tiktok… undecided yet but keep your eyes peeled if you’re interested.
Have a great day buddy and enjoy your weekend.

@@nickyducky , that would be really cool! I found it very interesting and insightful to watch you make the mistakes that you did. And I found myself empathizing often as I watched the drama unfold. I really liked the nickname of "The Hulk" for the P16. In fact, I chuckled out loud when you mentioned it and knew immediately that your video was going to be good! I've always been interested in and fascinated by offroading (specifically rock crawling) and heavy machinery and have always possessed keen respect and admiration for truckers so, naturally, Snowrunner was appealing. But I never expected it to be as gratifying and addictive as it is. Saber did an outstanding job! The physics are good, the trucks are accurately modeled, the progression and upgrade trees are satisfying and rewarding, the scenery is beautiful and the terrain elements are realistic. At the same time, they tamed some the aspects of simulation and physics just enough to keep it from being tedious without sacrificing the element of panic-inducing and punishing moments of regret in the aftermath of poor decisions. My only gripe is not having the ability to pay out slack from the winches and losing my fully customized Fleetstar in a co-op session. I made the mistake of starting out in Hard Mode only to completely run out of fuel and money 20 hours in. Not having the tutorials really had a negative impact, but I'm looking forward to trying again now that I have become familiar with the mechanics of the game!
Snuwrunner is fun to play with both the controller and with my Fanatec wheel, shifter, and pedals. With the latter, it is really fun to drive in the cockpit view, but I have to have the controller handy so that I can use the thumbstick to look around at the mirrors and out the windows. I got the game free with Game Pass, but I'm planning to purchase it and buy all of the DLC as a show of support to Saber and in hopes that we will get another sequel. Here's to hundreds of hours of additional Snowrunner action!

I think the designers of game planned for the players to take the river route, even thought other routes are possible too. After getting stuck in the river and restarting, I took the extremely long route, had 2 major bottlenecks, had to use the Cat 745C for help, and after several fuel refills and lots of winch pulls, finally delivered the damn thing. This mission left me with a PTSD.

Small tip for people leaving the dock area: use the right hand lane, so that the walkway on top of the trailer doesn’t get stuck on the gatehouse roof. I guess Yanks would do that anyway, but as an Aussie I exited using the left lane and had to wiggle the trailer a fair bit to get unstuck.

I attempted this mission last nigh and failed as follows.
I didn't even get down to the house without a massive amount of winching along the way.
And as you turned straight over the stumbs in the ground at the house, I thought for sure now the cargo will get stuck on those?
I go stuck had to winch reverse, then winch some more, to even get down to the water.
Then at the place in the water you got stuck and just backed out of it.
I was literally stuck for hours, trying winching/craning with several more trucks from both side to get it moving.
And as I got it moving, on the very last part before the little island at 33:30 in your video, I took the outer path with my truck there, as the path you took looked like it would get the trailer stuck.
I saw starting to loose the trailer so I rushed in with two other trucks from either side trying to save it.
But to no avail, I lost two trucks and cargo in the river, as I tried pulling/craning the truck with the cargo.
Which mean I have to start the whole mission over.
I'll have a go with the same truck you used.
And I will not go into that mine field of stumps at the end.
I did that mistake last night recon the place.
    I f***ing hate those stumps

Pacific P16 is good but without AWD and with that kind of handling i struggle to steer and pull this thing on muddy places.

Well that didnt quite go to plan. That huge rig became detached crossing the sunken rocks and I didn't even notice because I was concentrating too much on my front wheel placement on the rocks. Then my P16 got washed off the the rocks as I tried reversed to re hitch the trailer. Went back again and got washed off the rocks again as trailer has moved with the strength of the current and cant get close enough to the hitch to connect. Think I'm gonna have one more go before resetting back to start :(
Got hitched this time but then P16 got washed off again and even though I managed to unhitch the rig a second later it was too late and both went to the bottom lol
