This will never not be funny. The Office and Extras have some of the best outtakes from any TV series, mainly because Ricky gets bored and tries to sabotage a lot of the takes. And he also corpses like crazy.
I love how Ricky says bashing the bishop when he's looking away from camera so it looks like Martin is laughing for no reason. A crafty way of stitching someone up.
Mate I was in such a bad mood only three minutes ago. So much bullshit going on at this moment in time. Then Mr Algorithm pops this up (again, seems to come along once every few months). And all is forgotten for two blissful minutes. Literally crying with laughter. And now I’m remembering how shit everything is again - time to hit the replay button. 😎
The UK Office is largely continuous takes. Unlike the US Office, which deploys that fake, reality TV, cut, cut, quick zoom to the face, cut, quick zoom to the face shtick which makes you fucking dizzy.
@@heldinahtmlhell I still felt like the US version maintained the "mockumentary" style very well. Of course the show, as any, loses touch with it's point as the seasons go on. But as someone who loves both versions, I'll just say I've seen the UK version once and I've seen the US version 12 times.
@@BaldMancTwat I've given the US version a go and couldn't get into it so I haven;t watched THAT much of it, but from what I saw I thought they pretty much dropped the Mockumentary style fairly quickly.

The actor who plays Tim giving a side interview about the actor who plays David (who is his real-life boss) while recounting how he wasted a work day by messing around, while also joking to the camera with dead-pan delivery, immediately followed up by a clip of the boss wasting time recorded by the same camera crew who recorded The Office, is all just WAY too meta for my mind to take in.
You know Michael Jackson’s not really dead, don't you? Yeah, it's in a book. What he did was he faked his own death so that he could work undercover for the LA police, infiltrating drugs gangs and the Triads
"On the way to work maybe Ricky had one of his great ideas, as I like to call them. And so not only can I make the working day longer, but how can I make it less productive?" I have the same conversation in my head sometimes in the office with my colleagues.
Not only am I impressed that Martin actually knows who Bishop Muzorewa is/was but also that he essentially got the year right when the world pretty much last heard of him ('a name I have not heard since about 1980')!
That smile from Brent just after saying Bishop Muzorewa... unfortunately we only see it from an acute angle but honestly just imagine being on the receiving end of that
Martin's face and laugh when Ricky says Biship Muzorewa is so funny. I was in bits.
I agree. There's also something special about Ricky's laugh. Sometimes i ask myself if i'm laughing at the joke or because of his laugh.
Chaz Dadkhah What...?
It wasn't a few years back though

I'm still coming back for my yearly fix of Bishop Muzorewa 😅

Bashing the bishop gets me every time 😂
Martin is a joy to watch act.
Here he is, Tim Canterbury. Good man, The Canterbury Tales, Chaucer, and Shakespeare...
Maybe you should switch to salads
Dirk Kirby they all are in The Office. Cracking writing and shit hot directing. One of the best British docu-sitcoms ever.

I have just re-watched 'Bashing the Bishop' five times and it cracked me up each time! Ricky was so cruel with those ad-libs.

Sometimes I just watch this on repeat. As far as I'm concerned it's one of the funniest videos on UA-cam.

Worse thing Gervais did was split from Merchant.
The Office and Extras were just phenomenally well written, produce and directed.
