- The Gauteng Crime Prevention Wardens, known as 'Amapanyaza', have been
accused of abusing their authority, following a video that surfaced on social media. DA Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature, Crezane Bosch says the wardens must be given similar training as police and traffic officers. She claims there has not been visible change brought by the wardens.

DA is lying we are happy in soweto their visibility is appreciated, they stay in the suburbs and not subjected to the crime we facing as urban are residents. Speaking from a place of privilege 😢

Could it be because they have the entire country questioning their authority? If we need a difference, give them the same training and authority as SAPS. At least a few ( those who display discipline and maturity)in their units need firearm training and be armed. I'll tell u now, people don't fear them so if ordinary citizens don't fear them and question their authority, how will they deter armed career criminals? They should also work with CPF more. Currently they are under-utilised in my opinion.
