I've been looking at these, while there are some features not present in the Typical Baofeng UV-5Rs it sure does look like a slightly upgraded and rebranded Baofeng radio, even the battery is remarkably close, I do hope for Alinco's sake that the front end of the receiver is much better. Yessir but by the time you half program (I'm in the US) the radio, the battery needs to be recharged. It does not have an option for car recharging either unless your car has a power converter and that costs more bucks. You also need an adapter to connect an external antenna for better reception. But my biggest problems are the battery that empties fast and the poor quality/reception of the airband. But an Alinco is always an Alinco and obviously not the king of the hill when it comes to radios. Thank you for your video, I appreciated it!

Hi! Manual is unclear about dual watch - does the radio listen on both bands simultanously? (Master / Slave) Rationale: want to use the radio to communicate privately on 1 channel, but listen tk group conversation on a second one. If not, does activity on the slave trigger the star indicator (lower left) and a voice notification? (How would I know activity on the slave without actually looking on the display all the time) Alternatively, what halpens if PTT in scan mode? Does it transmit on master channel, or stop at the current channel in search and transmit there? Thanks!
Dear sir, Do you know why in AM mode, mine shows AM 1xx in the first line, the second line the rest digits? How could I make it the same display as yours in AM mode? Thanks
The problem with this radio is the software that they have made for it is not very flexible. You can import frequencies from other data sources very well with it. And it doesn’t work with CHIRP. It seems like the best thing they could do to market this radio would be to make it CHIRP compatible. I have one and it’s a pain to program with all these problems with software.

Nice video . If FM radio is ON and if there is RX signal on VHF then will FM radio stop and I can listen to VHF signal (like Baofeng radio ) ?

Mine supports 8.33k. Just press F then sql at the side. You have two choices, 5 and 8.33
