Tata and other builders charge hefty premium over smaller and lesser known builders due to their brand value and expectation of better quality. if this is their construction then it is very disappointing. no wonder the real estate market is in such a slump. nobody wants to buy flats because of high prices, poor and delayed execution. for the builder it is just one flat but for the buyer it is his lifetime of earnings and savings.

Building looks like 25 years old. I got possession in 2014 in Pune. Builder was local but after 5 years my flat, building and terrace of building still looks brand new. Now I think myself very lucky that I didn't face such issues.

Actually, that my not be pure cement. It's the mixture of cement + fine silt. This usually happens when the silt content of sand used for plastering is higher than permissible limit. May be the site engineers were not well informed about silt content and silt test. These cases occur when crushed sand is used for plastering (which is quite rare).
Why don't you please send this video to the chairman of Tata sons with a copy to Mr.Rattan Tata so that the issue is addressed properly and culprits are taken care of.

TDS meter is just Rs200 .does not require any calibration, its available on line too. Just dip in water to see TDS. to check accuracy dip in good distilled water , it should show 'zero'. Normal R o water with pleasent taste will have 60 - 70 tds. Some Ro remove all salts reducing the tds to 5, 10 or even zero rendering water tasteless. Raw water may range from 500 to 2000 TDS. Household RO systems are comfortable with upto 1000 TDS

Im a mumbai based young builder and its sad that because of some scam builders, the whole business community has a bad name. You should check out NBCC East Kidwai Nagar project Delhi, it was touted to be a smart city for central government employees but look at it now, poor construction quality everywhere
Stone work best, and brick, but use sand,lime as mortar, as to build the wall outside. Inside use lime sand for plastering walls best bet. Never let wood come into contact with cement it will rot.

In my opinion, the contractors and the vendors are not paid well by the people in charge for disbursement of payments. This seems to be a pure case of corruption by the middle class and the upper middle class employees working for these companies. I am not in favour of the Tatas here but it's their responsibility to see if everything functions well in their organisation.
