i love this chopper , Seahawk is the most beautiful and cool helos for me . i plan to buy their model scale latter . H series copter are all really cool looking .
@beryan beyaan I started training in the Bravo in 1987 - so almost 35 years ago. The Bravos went into service in 1984 - almost 40 years ago. GREAT, now I feel OLD.
Your dad knew what it was to land on a moving flight deck, in a moonless night, in the middle of a North Atlantic gale, while we would be chasing a Soviet sub. The above MH60R lands in a carrier. Easy.
India has all the possible best copter,, fighters etc to purchase from around the world the only thing is budget issues otherwise China won't provoke India at all
What the hell is CAG painted on the side of a Romeo for? He doesn't even know what they are. My room mate pulled CAG OPs out of the water after he ejected and he looked around at our equipment and said, "who the hell are you", like we were aliens. He had no idea he had an armed helicopter in the battle group.
That's not paint it's a decal printed from a Roland GS-24 vinyl cutter. I should know because I was the one that plotted the decal and cut it out. MODEX 700 would have been our show bird but due to a strict interpretation of the Mil-STD-2161C our squadron decided to go with the grey paint scheme instead of a colorful CAG bird like we had on our 2015-2016 deployment. The 00 birds are always the CAG birds so his name goes on the port side and DCAG's name goes on the starboard side. All the CVW-1 birds were like that. While this video was taken I was on the ship. I sent this bird out with all the stuff to keep it pretty while this detachment was displaying our aircraft off for potential sales to allies.
@@Obinjess Was always a mistake to take HSL to the carrier. Ruined the community. Surface warfare funded the R&D for the weapon and now their weapon is sitting on the carrier without.a ready deck, just so the front office can get “face time” with CAG for command at sea. They don’t fight the weapon. They fight promotions.
That's where you stand when the aircraft is being started. You need to be able to see the pilots and the engines as well as what is around the aircraft as well.
They’re known as a Plane Captain. Your main job is safety, basic inspection that happens daily, as well as launch and recover of the MH-60. Like Obin said, the Pilots need to be able to see you as you are in charge of the evolution.
The reason the tail landing gear is so close to the cabin, is because the H60R is capable of landing on small, non carrier vessels such as destroyers (DDG) and LHD class ships. The landing gear "footprint" is smaller, thus allowing the helicopter to land in a tighter area.
It is forward to allow us to land on small decks - like the old Spruance Destroyers and FFG-7 Class frigates.... you had to be CAREFUL on a Spruance - another squadron accidentally landed with the tail wheel a foot short of the flight deck
There is also a tail wheel probe between the tires that extends into the track slot of DD’s, CG’s, FFG’s that steer the aircraft into the hangar after blades and tail are folded. That is… after a tricky straightening process.

My dad flew the Bravo version of the H-60 for nearly 30 years. He loves telling stories about his time with this amazing helicopter!

Brings me back to my PC days! I was a PC on the MH-60R and S, and the HH-60H.
Takes me back to my days in HSL-46. SH60B. Was PC and AE3 in 2 Det’s. 91-95 and 2 summer MED cruises . Those were some great times.
So happy that Denmark 🇩🇰 got these 😊

@Su30mki What matters is that your mother makes neighbors happy everyday, she is cheaper as she ages 😉
→ Taxis to the runway
→ Takes off vertically
I know there's definitely a good (probably ATC-related) reason for this, but I just found it funny
Great catch!

Does the ATO on an SH-60 know how to fly the helicopter in the event the pilot gets injured or killed?
My old squadron when they were out of Mayport
Looks so scary

Holy hell. Why was that ground crew standing off the nose of the bird like that?

Still wondering why a helicopter is taxiing??
Is this what you work on?
What’s with the rear landing gear?
nothing special as i can see !
On sea hawks it looks like the rear landing gear are closer to the front of the tail, and they have double wheels instead of one like on a black hawk
The reason the tail landing gear is so close to the cabin, is because the H60R is capable of landing on small, non carrier vessels such as destroyers (DDG) and LHD class ships. The landing gear "footprint" is smaller, thus allowing the helicopter to land in a tighter area.

What is the spherical shaped thing underneath the tail behind the rear wheels?
Cameras/radar what else? it's an anti-submarine helicopter
is dit op Lelystad? en dan de vraag, wat doen ze daar?
Klopt dit is Lelystad ! stop, fuel and go opweg naar parijs. kwamen uit de buurt van Denemarken dacht ik

Odd that they started the engines with rotor brake off...
What airport is this?
It is a small civil AirPort called Lelystad mostly used by small props
Why a helicopter is harder to fly than a Boeing 737???
A helicopter simply don't want to fly...
