there is certain notes you can't play on this that you can on a proper tabla set like dhiri dhiri or a kerwa like dhitna dha na but seems to be handy for recordings and stuff can you change pitch on the pad to suit different keys
Thank you for this video. I know what David Klausa is saying but at the same time this machine opens so many possibilities to other instruments. I am just curious if I purchase this unit, how complicated is it to install the tabla and learn using this unit. I am a tablaplayer BTW....
I agree with the other commenter "Why would someone play on that?" - it feels so good to play on real hand drums. But ok, I see the usefulness, with the flexibility of implementation. But you lose a lot of the physical joy of hitting drums, which I feel is a big part of hand drumming.

Can you change the notes for each sound effect? I need a C# for example. Is that possible?
