Cassowary…my MawMaw use to bring me to the BREC zoo in Louisiana on the weekends because I would demand to see these birds and the otters and shop in the gift shop. But these were my two favorite animals. The cassowary because my MawMaw (who raised me) called them knot heads and I related to them because my whole family called me a knothead. Idk if you know how the zoo interacted with people about ten years ago but at that time I was able to stick my hand through the fence and I fed them. Almost every animal. Even wild cats(smaller sized ones; I have scars on my back and arm to prove that) The zoo security hated it but they were used to me and eventually realized that they never hurt me. I love those birds, idk if they are intelligent or what. all I know is the ones in our zoo in Louisiana were my best friends for at least three years and I never failed to visit until I couldn’t.
