  • Hey guys, for today’s video I visited the Philippine Korean War Monument in Goyang city. I discussed briefly about the history between Korea and the Philippines and shared my thoughts on it. I wasn’t able to visit the other memorial monument in Yeoncheon, but I definitely will whenever I make the time for it. The site I visited for today’s video is not so far from Seoul (around 20 min through car) so if you ever get to visit Korea, I suggest you to drop by this place as well! As always, thank you for your support! 🥺❤️

      Hi jessica, I'm thai, one of your viewers here but not a fan, hope my question won't offend you in any way. I'm just skeptical, there are a lot of youtubers out there featuring Filipinos, you know, large audience from PH equals large income. Are you sincere in doing this or just do this for money? Well, if you make a video out of this, I'll support it.

      Pao Pao Hi there! With all due respect, Jessica Lee lived in the Philippines for 9 years. She studied there, she somewhat grew up there, and she grew there loving the country. I personally believe that her passion to vlog paved the way for her to share her experiences and her story as she journeys through life. I also believe that she makes these vlogs not because of money but because of her pure heart that has sincerely loved the Philippines. For me, these videos of her on UA-cam is the product of her love to the country and its people. 😇😇😇

    I am a Filipino cadet studying in Korea Military Academy. On September 09, 2020, The Korean Military Academy's professors, staffs, and cadets went to Philippine monument in Goyang-si and held a wreath laying ceremony to give honor to the Filipino soldiers who fought and shed their blood to protect the freedom of the south koreans.

      John D.G. McArthur said that during the late stages of the war. Saying that to boost morale. McArthur cannot pass thru heavily damaged areas, and his troops were outnumbered, and the only allies he had were the Filipino Guerillas. It wasn't meant for conquering the world but to continue fighting with no support. I hope that this makes you understand.

    If this story becomes a movie (please), i will definitely watch it. Also, I learned that at that time, former President Elpidio Quirino even sent his ONLY SON and Son-in-law to Korea as soldiers to show his true commitment. The late president had 5 kids but his wife and 3 children were killed by Japanese Troops in 1945. Imagine how committed he was, he lost family members from war but that didnt stop him to help other country in their own battle. If I were the president, I would do the same because PH has gone through a lot. We know how Koreans at that time was going through. We cant just close our eyes and feel nothing. Salute to all the PEFTOK soldiers and Pres. Quirino.
    Peace and love for PH and KOREA.

    When I was in the USAF and stationed at Kunsan in Korea in the 1990s, there were older generation Koreans citizens that showed their gratitude towards Filipinos while I was over there. I was treated with kindness and with a sincere sense of hospitality they offered me and to my fellow Filipino American USAF service members. Their gesture was to show that the Koreans do not forget what the Fighting Filipinos have done for them. Thanks for showing us the Philippine-Korea war memorial. God Bless You.

      Yes, i agree, however the true definition of "Philippines will Rise Again" if we rise our country as a developed nation when few Filipinos are poor and most are in middle class and rich. I don't see winning in beauty pegeants or boxing matches as a definition of pinoy pride. The real pinoy pride is when most Filipino are winning against poverty.

      That's the reason why marcos has a lot of property, golds and diamonds, but aquino question that and brained wash the people and say marcos is corrupt and not knowing that marcos lift the philippines up during that time, there's no people in the philippines without a permanent job during marcos did u know that? People can find a job easily, no contractual, and there is no OFW infact marcos driver is american.

    Thanks Jessica, your coverage is very heartwarming. I was a child in the 70's and that was long after the Korean war, but even then I have heard stories from adults about Korea , stories that were filled with fond and kind sentiments for Korea. The Filipinos were willing to lay down their lives for the Koreans, so we carry a soft spot for you in our hearts, consider you our close friends, and even our brothers.

    HI Jessica, I was all for the cancel Korea movement, especially after the videos were they were tearing the Philippine Flag, I also noticed that there are rude Koreans when I was vacationing in Boracay, but because of you and your channel I am choosing not to hate because you give us a side that not all Koreans are like that. I am just going to accept the fact that there are people with hate in their hearts and there are a few good people left in this world.

    wow! seeing that monument being preserved carefully is enough reason why we should stop thinking that Koreans have prejudice towards Filipino. racism is just really natural for some people perhaps, i mean if a person from a particular country is bad doesn't mean that the whole nation where he/she belongs to is also bad.

      Tell that to the Aquinos who ordered Dep-Ed to focus on their self claimed heroism of Benigno Aquino who is Holding Malaysian Passport at the time he was Murdered as Collateral Damaged for their Greediness to POWER.

    • @yussuqmadiq5274
      @yussuqmadiq5274 3 роки тому +4

      @@renecaldeo1406 Do you know why he was using a Malaysian passport? He was imprisoned without trial nor any charges during martial law for being Marcos' critic. And like a common dictator, he can't take any criticism against him. And while during his imprisonment and torture, he suffered a heart attack. Marcos then realized that if Ninoy died, he will become a martyr and people will revolt. To him Ninoy was more dangerous dead than alive. So what was his solution? He exiled Ninoy to the U.S.
      After a few years Ninoy can't take anymore what's happening to the Philippines. He sent a letter to Marcos telling him that he wants to go home and talk to him. He promised to never return to politics and just wants to talk to him to make some adjustments during his regime. That basic human rights should be returned like habeas corpus and punishing police for their abuses. Marcos told him that if he returned, the left would assassinate him. Now during an independent autopsy and crime scene investigation, it was found out that the trajectory was from an upward angle, indicating that he was shot by someone in a higher position. Thus the soldiers of the government was the one who pulled the trigger. Another thing is that Galman, the so called communist assassin, was dead before the time of Ninoy.
      There were some testimony of a Malacanang staff that Ferdinand Marcos was angry with Imelda and thrown a glass at her. It was the same day that Ninoy was killed. Marcos was smart enough to know the implication of this. That it will anger the Filipinos and end his reign. Funny that you mentioned the word GREED. What do you call a person who took power for more than 2 decades, put the country in huge foreign debt and in a fiscal crisis, and enrich himself?
      Anyway I know how you will argue. I can cite the trend of the economy of the Philippines, talk about the gold deficits in the Bangko Sentral, overpriced infrastructures, massive human rights violation, the impeachment against Marcos before he declared martial law, etc. ; and you will argue by labeling me as a yellowtard or an Aquino loyalist. Well if you do that then I have two rebuttals. First is that I also criticized the two Aquinos on some of the things that they did during their regime, though to be fair I haven't found any evidence of direct corruption. Second, I find it funny that you'll label me as such because basically what you are saying is that, you as a Marcos loyalist, I am as misguided as you. If you argue that way then maybe you should rethink your position.
