Hello I’m a carrier with my own Mc my question can you be kind to tell me what documents do I need to hired an owner operator,, I live in Mn and my sis in Wi she wants to start working for my company and driver her own van but am new as well to the business only 10 months with my authority
To hire a owner operator you need to add that person driver license and vehicle to your commercial insurance, then you need to collect all paperwork susch as driver license, medical card, vehicle registrations, inspection,etc, then the owner operator have to sign a contract with the carrier and carrier must perform a driving test, also make sure that the owner operator vehicle meets all carrier requirements after that owner operator should be good to go, something very important you must to know, the owner operator vehicle is technically responsibility of the carrier same as if the carrier own the vehicle under FMCSA and all legal stuff, anything that this vehicle got involved, carrier is responsible
@@Frank1776. thank you that’s what I thought but since my sis an I lived in 2 diff state is more diff so I thought there was a diff way you kno just when dispatcher company hires you they want us to have our own insurance and we just run under their authority..
@lunakla2222 well all that sounds illegal, Dispatch company doesn't have MC# so idk what MC# you're using and carrier and insurance goes together not separate using Dispatch services will get you bankrupt because too much ilegal things going on
@@Frank1776. thank you so much I stop using them since they were only paying 69c not sure if u heard of Sh,A to B, A-Z and ALTEK I had call the FmCSA and insurance they told me both vehicles needed to be parked where i have the business register also that ins will be a lot since we are in two diff states
I have a video on this subject. Go check it out. It was called a DQF, drivers qualification file. Research fmsca and then dqf. That is the list required by fmsca.
