5 characters to pay attention to in this story
1- Mordecai -the guy behind the scenes of this story the leader who is leading from below…--influencing influencers…NOT ALL KINGS WEAR CROWNS----NOT all QUEENS sit on THRONES--- oftentimes the kings behind the scenes are the ones impacting everything…
2-- ESTHER--God is looking for someone who’s into serving--- Until you’re willing to be the SERVANT, you’ll never be fit to be the LEADER.
3-- King Xerxes-- easily persuadable--be careful who you listen to...
4-- Queen Vashti --- VASHTI was the queen who lost everything because she refused to SHOW UP-- half our battles this year will be won simply by SHOWING UP...
5-- Haman --insecure, jealous, easily threatened, manipulative, tormented by his own demons, deviantly clever...Whenever God gets ready to elevate you, He must first introduce an enemy, but if your enemy is the King's enemy, then your battle is the King's battle…
ESTHER 2----PREPARATION TIME IS NEVER WASTED TIME
--ESTHER SOAKED IN OIL AND PERFUME___--- the presence of God, the fragrance of prayer, worship, consecration, separation, preparation---- MORDECAI kept watch-he was engaged, involved, looking after, and making sure she was ok… MORDECAI carried influence with ESTHER because of: INFLUENCING NEXT GENERATIONS---
1---relational equity - he raised her and helped her since she was young…
2---wisdom-he intuitively knew what she should do when campaigning to be queen
3---concern---everyday he was there watching and looking out for her-he cared…
4---courage---he informed esther when he discovered a plot against the king…
--ESTHER 4:1-8, 10-17 -- THE BIRTHING OF A GOD-DREAM often comes from the pain of suffering… IN THE MIDST OF CRISES LIES GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR the LEADER that will RISE UP with COURAGE and DO THE RIGHT THING… Esther had a choice--- to stand up for what’s right, or to blend in with Persian royalty… she could use her platform for good, or just for herself… selfish ambition vs. self-sacrifice --- DR. KING-- the time is always right to do what’s right…
ESTHER 4:14---FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS
--ESTHER 4:15-17 --- she presses past her feelings, and she presses into prayer---the moment you press past your feelings and into prayer you step into GOD’S PRESENCE
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN a DREAM and a DESTINY is a DUE DATE.
-- SET A DUE DATE---PUT IT ON THE CALENDAR
ESTHER 5:1-7, 9-14------Ether is at rest, she’s courageous but she’s not pushy---she’s not demanding---she’s not rushed---she’s fulfilling this dream with faith and patience--- she’s chill, she’s not losing it- -- SHE Gets DRESSED in her ROYAL ROBES_- and she stands in the hallway of the kings throne… this is a picture of us---standing in our robes of righteousness waiting on God’s presence---HE INVITES US TO COME…. ///// --Esther 6:1-14 the king honors mordecai over haman/// God is working behind the scenes for you---haters cant stop you----GOD is SETTING YOU UP in 2020!!!---Esther 7:1-10 -- ---ASK FOR THE NATIONS___--PSALM 2:8--NLT
ESTHER: the LEADER UNDER CONTROL
1---she prepared for her future in humility and honor
2---she didn’t let her position steal her compassion
3---she was self-aware, not self-consumed - she knew her place in the organization
4---she felt the need to fast and pray --------PRAYER is the SECRET WEAPON against discouragement, against fear, shame, etc… ---PRIVATE PRAYER produces PUBLIC POWER.
5----she depended on the prayers of others
6----she was willing to take a risk and obey God
7----she didn’t take advantage of generosity
8----she recognized the importance of timing
HAMAN: the LEADER OUT OF CONTROL
1---he misunderstood the times
2---he lost joy over little problems
3----he needed friends to build his self-image
4---his greed and selfish ambition made him unhappy
5----he listened to the wrong people
6----he thought too highly of himself
7----he set himself up for a fall
8---he reaped what he sowed

One of the best sermons I've heard.. When you mentioned Haman made me realize I've been holding to hate towards someone over an stupid reason.. But I'm releasing that hate in the name of Jesus!
