You have a new subscriber, can’t wait to go through your twenty one pilots playlist I’m on my second video and can already tell you have been a fan for a while with a wealth of knowledge and it’s nice to see some genuinely reacting to and appreciating this band 😊
so interesting to look back at these older songs and see tyler's progression and what themes have continued throughout their discography. there are some songs where i'm not a big fan of the production choices or tyler's vocal delivery but still have so much love for this album and has some of my favourite songs on it and was so cool to hear tyler sining isle of flightless birds and trapdoor live in clips from the small shows they played earlier this month.
This video was supposed to also upload with a reaction to Regional at best but the video was blocked worldwide. Trying to see what I can do to get it uploaded.
@@twovulareviews awesome! me too but in October! I’m very excited, also they cut out the rap verse that you didn’t like on isle of flightless birds also played some of slowtown from regional at best fans freaked out when they heard it! The setlsit for the Clancy tour is unknown, hope you have a great experience at the concert!
It was fun to go back through Self-Titled. It's funny how much you noted "awkward singing" when I've never noticed that at all :). Maybe I'm just not picky about it but for me most of the times you noted that I just took it as the personality of the song. I'm not exactly a music critic though. Self-Titled is probably my favorite overall album of theirs though so I'm definitely a bit biased. I wish they'd bring back more piano in their newer stuff, but I still love it.
I wouldn’t call my self a music critic, just someone who loves sharing their opinions about music they love. I grew up listening to this album as a kid and over the years I found more and more stuff that annoyed me or felt too awkward to get behind. Still really enjoy this album for the most part, just some instances that bring down the enjoyment for me overall. Also hard agree about the pianos, I want another super deep stripped back album like ST again!
@@twovulareviews Yeah that's totally fair. To be clear I wasn't trying to say you were a critic in a negative way at all. You're certainly not alone in noticing the difference in his voice/how he sings on some songs in this album. I just don't notice it myself which is why I was saying I'm not a music critic in that I just apparently don't notice the different sounds/etc :) .
I don’t know about other TOP listeners, but I still listen to all their albums and I have to say I agree there are a few stinkers here. But, I look at them with nostalgia and love for their imperfections. Nice album review!
Nice review, I agree the ideas here are great just the execution is a bit off at times. Twenty One Pilots was pretty early on and maybe in their "garage band" phase but Tyler also tried to produce the hell out of this album, so it is a bit mismatched.
As a mega fan there isn't a song of theirs I do not like, but that's all I am a mega fan of twenty one pilots lol. Other than them I don't listen to much other music and definitely don't have the knowledge to do it critically. But I can see why someone like that sees imperfections in this older stuff. But it all adds to the charm for me personally seeing how Tyler and Josh grew. Like just like any TØP song I love The Pantaloon but yeah it's one of his worst vocal performances, the little rap is good though and like I said, I still love every song from them I'm a shill.

I know! I loved hearing him still sing these older songs!

The small shows before clancy released they had been playing trapdoor live! which is amazing! and I really hope it’s on the Clancy world tour
YES!!! I am going to see them live in September 😁

I watched an interview with Tyler’s dad about Johnny boy and apparently it’s about Tyler’s dad losing his job
