"Mostly graphical hack that make the game resemble the animated series Super Mario Bros. Super Show! Enemies are modified to match their appearances in the show, with King Koopa as the final boss.
Story:
Evil King Koopa and his Koopa pack have taken control of the elusive Subcon Land and imprisoned all its inhabitants in a large jar. Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool, and Toad embark on a journey to stop King Koopa before he seizes control of the Mushroom World. Don’t let Koopa koop away!"

I loved all the subtle details that call back to the original show. The switched shirt and overall colors on Mario & Luigi, cowboy hat Goombas, the angry faces on the Bob-Ombs, Birdo looking like an old grandmother, and Princess Toadstool's fluffier 80s hair (though it's a bit of a shame her Popeye forearms weren't included). Great job!
Used to love Super Mario Super Show as well when I was a kid
me too, but not anymore since i outgrew it.
I still love it. King Koopa's awesome, he's the character that Bowser should be.

The changes are almost all subtle but they capture the style of the cartoon really well, this is a cute rom hack.
The Super Mario Bros Super Show came out in 1989 and this hack came out this year so it's been 35 years.

This is very cool. . I also like how some enemies from SMB1 are used in this hack like Goombas and Spinies being in World 2 and Paratroopas replacing the Beezos in World 4. Also Bowser is now the final boss. Also I like how Pansers are replaced by Piranha Plants Other details I like such as the absence of the M for Mamu (Wart) on the Autobombs now being replaced with K for Koopa. Bowser's last name due to Bowser replacing Wart in the hack.
Actually if we're going by the Super Show, there is no "Bowser". His name is "King Koopa" through and through. Bowser was never said or uttered once in the show.

It's Bowser. In TAOSMB3 he actually refers to himself as Bowser Koopa in one of the episodes and said show is the sequel to SMBSS. I guess Bowser though in the cartoons is more egotistical and cruel so he prefers to be addressed by his last name Koopa rather then Bowser so people will fear his family name. However this is often played for comedy as Bowser often gloats and takes pride even when he's insulted by Mario, Luigi, or Peach taking it as a compliment. He knows he's a rotten jerk that's hated by everyone and he likes it.

I mean Super Show was already pretty much just 95% "Super Mario Bros. 2" representation so its basically come full circle. :)

What a fun romhack! I think it would be even better if the flurries were replaced with goombas that had looks of shock and surprise on their faces as they slip and slide uncontrollably across the ice!
It's quite impressive how well this captures the hideously off-model look DiC gave just about every character.
The "regional" sprites look amazing.

Well it is fitting as this show is based on SMB2 more so than 1
So that's why there is no floating blocks in SMBSS
big part of why being that Doki Doki Panic had more varied enviornments than SMB1.
why did Nintendo make more varied environments for a tie in game than their own original game?

Job well done. This was the era of Mario that made me a fan.
One of my childhood shows made into a game. One of my dreams has become reality.
Between this, a Special Edition hack of Ghostbusters for Genesis that adds Winston, and the "Texas Edition" hack of the first TMNT for Nes...we eatin' good in the neighborhood. (Though a similar hack for TMNT II: The Arcade Game would probably be preferred by a lot of folks over having to even look at TMNT1...)
Now we need similar treatment for the first Legend of Zelda, Castlevania (can you imagine Simon Belmont redrawn to look how he did in Captain N: The Game Master??), Megaman 1&2, etc.

This should have been our Mario Bros. 2 back then. Then again, the show started a year later. Should have done a remake a few years later, like an anniversary style.
I guess the Panser are replaced with Piranha Plant. It make sense sense they're aren't in the show, but I wanted to see what they'll look like if they're in that cartoon.

King Koopa in the show does *NOT* have the inherent ability to breath fire like he does in the games. I know the show has both elements from both 1 and 2 and Wart doesn't appear, and Wart *does* spit projectiles in his boss fight, so... I guess I'll let that side.

Dood, you made all the characters look like they did on the show, including the Goombas with the western hats in the desert.
It kind of works because most of the stuff in Super Show was from SMB2 anyway and that includes the enemies and the music.
ChocoLixo needs to do hacks of Super Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario World to correspond with the later seasons of the show.

It is amazingly reminiscent of the animated series from the 80s and 90s from the disappeared and prestigious studio DiC.

That's because it's being modded to look like Lou Albano Mario. Very smart move to tie even more with the show since it makes it look like all the cartoon segments are L.A Mario's dreams
Shouldn't the star man give you firepower if this going off the Super Mario Bros Super Show?
Only so much that could be done; Mario 2 didn't have firepower, even though the cartoon had basically the Fire Flower AND Starman give that. (Thankfully, one episode of The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 corrected that by having the Starman actually give invincibility) So in the game, there's probably no way to make that work.

First area in 1-1 is identical to the GBA game.
